I blend all types of samples. I did a crazy beat when I reached 16K subs, sampling 16 different songs. Been flipping records/samples for almost 30 years
I love blending multiple records in one, can't lie it took a long time for me to get to that point, first saw Marco Polo do that and was always intrigued,it's an interesting technique
It's crazy because back in the day i thought i was the only one in the world using multiple records to make 1 joint. Nothing better than glueing all the different pieces from different puzzles into 1 puzzle and it actually going together.
The thing about dirty pads, if you’ve cleaned them once, they’ll never get dirty again. Stock pads have this waxy residue that holds on to dirt, but once you wipe your pads with alcohol, it’ll stay clean
@@xzstnce Like Ave said if your pads are clean.. that means you are not using your MPC enough facts lol you gotta keep cleaning them if you are using it lol
@@producerdata the crazy thing is I had to clean my stock gray pads ALL the time but now I have clear pads and I haven’t had cleaned them once. I do about 5-10 beats a day
The key to having multiple samples in a song is by just sampling all kinds of different musical pieces and saving em n experimenting to see what works. A lot of different producers have used multiple samples from different records in songs. Hank Shocklee n The Bomb Squad did it for Public Enemy and Ice Cubes First 3 solo albums as well as ATCQ, Pete Rock, DITC, Dr. Dre (NWA & Deathrow days) it’s not a new concept.
I appreciate you for showing love and respect to the art form. It’s inspiring and makes me want to go on the hunt for new techniques. If only more people were enthusiastic about respecting the craft. This is why I subscribe and watch.🖖
Pete Rock is a master at blending multiple records on one beat.. Listen to Petestrumentals (Pete’s Jazz track specifically).. it’s like 3/4 records chopped and put together amazingly!!
Great video ave,my set is similar with the bed, because when your not going sleep untill you finish that beat, its 5 o'clock in the morning and its only three steps to drop into your bed 😂 peace bro
I have definitely combined more than one sample source and made a single track. There were a few Tribe tracks built like that, lotta producers used to do it more IMO. Now everyone is on the loops game sounding the same.
Alchemist is verrrrry dope!, i'm blending more records in 1 beat too sometimes! it's pretty easy to do on the mpc1000/2500 tbh, just layers of programs pitched to the same note
Come on man, The Bomb Squad were the masters of using multiple sample from different records on one track.. PE forever. The Alchemist is a genius, best Hip Hop producer in 2024.
I don’t what you talking about Ave. I use my MPC daily but I clean it at least weekly. The reason Al’s pads are so dirty is because he’s a smoker and that smut be on smoker’s fingers even if they wash their hands. Not to mention he smokes at the equipment.
You mean El-P Def Jux creator right? . And yes I blend multiple records to make one beat. And sometimes one suffices just depends on the record and where I go with the drums first.
Alchemist is 1 of my absolutely 💯 Favorites, alone the side of DJ Quik and Manny Fresh. So much inspiration from his Cookups. You think the Beat is going in 1 direction, and it switches up to some WHOLE OTHER ISH‼️
i didn't know blending multiple songs from different artists was a special thing. i do it often and i thought that was regular. also i can't let my pad remain TOO dirty haha. let's keep it a buck, people who smoke got EXTRA dirty pads. EXTRA dirty ughhhh. i don't smoke and i don't want my shit looking nasty. when i clean my music area, all the instruments get a cleaning too.
Different samples from different records has been done for decades.. All the great hip hop producers have done it. Alchemist is just another one added to the list. He is a dope produces as well !!
I’ve had mostly all the Mpc’s. Honestly speaking, in die hard fast situations with artist breathing down your neckline to get the beats out to tape or the computer, all the older mpc sounded better but sucked on work flow far as stems. The mpc x, live are top notch minus a few db in sound quality.
Do A VIDEO ON INLOWKEY CHECK HIM OUT DIBIASE NEPHEW HES LIKE THE NEXT ONE N NICE ON THE KEYS 🎹JUST AS MUCH AS BEATS! PEACE P SMOOVAH THE GOLDEN CHILD 🙏 🎹
I wish my pads were dirty. My MPC is spanking brand new 😢 and I bought it a couple of months ago. I keep it near me to try to spark my fire. I think l Lost my muse.😢😮
Got a break out of the habit. You should be going apeshit on it when I got the MPC one back in 2020. There wasn’t a day that I wasn’t recording a video or making a beat on it.

Yo, Pete Rock is a master at blending different samples into one song
That style started with the Bomb Squad. And they schooled a young DJ Muggs. And Muggs schooled Alchemist. You can see and hear the recipe pass down
@@mauriceriddick4168yea I learned that from alchemist’s documentary. Crazy.
Blending samples was very common in the late 80's and 90's before sample clearance was such a big thing!
something I do with my eyes closed
Other dope slept on multi layer producers I love include Damu the Fudgemunk, Kankick, Young Einstein, Dibiase, Kev Brown and TaRaach
I'd pay big money to get the old Damu TH-cam beats back.
Marlow Digs and my all time favorite producer Jaisu are really good at blending samples.
Marlo make me jealous the way he do that shit to

Agreed! I usually just get hung up on my first record sampled, unless I feel like I need more material.
The thing about dirty pads, if you’ve cleaned them once, they’ll never get dirty again. Stock pads have this waxy residue that holds on to dirt, but once you wipe your pads with alcohol, it’ll stay clean
