    I very much agree with this review. I carry my A5000 almost everywhere I go. I've had the camera since 2014 and have had no issues at all. I use the 16-50 kit lens and the Sony 55-210mm when I need reach. I've been shooting with an A7II for some years now as well. I often don't take the A7II when I'm just going out to do daily running around town but the A5000 is so small and light, I try to take it everywhere. It really is a fun camera to have with you all the time. When I have the camera with me, I usually don't use my Iphone for photos. RAW editing is very good with the images this camera produces.

    I personally own a Sony a5000 and use it for all my videos. I love using it with super small lenses like the TTartisans 23mm f1.4, 7artisans 50mm f0.95, and the Sony 55-210mm f4.5-6.3.

      @@DavidHancock What's great about it is with smaller lenses, you can just carry it around in your pocket. If you're afraid of scratching the front glass, just use a UV filter or just use a cheap lens. Video isn't the sharpest, but who cares? That give you the opportunity to use cheap and fun lenses and not notice a huge difference! Photos, plenty of small and powerful lenses, or heck, use the same cheap lenses and go out there and have fun!

    I feel like the main market for this one right now is for filming/video because although it's also good for photography, there's better stuff for this price used. It's 100-150 bucks used rn and there's no other options even close to this in terms of video quality at this price.

    Hello, I just came across your video as I research info on the Sony A5000. I purchased this camera back in 2015 and have used it very little. I am now interested in pursuing photography such as portraits, and would like to know If it
    would be wise to purchase new lenses, like the sigma 56mm f1.4 or if I should invest instead
    on a newer camera before buying lenses? Thank you!

    • @DavidHancock
      @DavidHancock  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Here's the best advice I can give for someone starting out in photography: don't buy new gear. Learn the gear you have, learn technique, learn composition. In a year or 18 months, after you're comfortable with the gear and your voice is starting to develop, then pick up a second lens. Buying gear is a great way to become a gearhead who buys and collects gear rather than being a photographer who uses their gear to create images.

      Definitely would be good for that. Buy a good lens with a good close focus, like a 50mm or 100mm macro lens. That will be the most important thing you spend your money on.

      @DavidHancock  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stklitelopez9521 In essence, any camera with a sensor that, at 16x9, is larger than 3840x2160 will work because that will let you make high-res images for your work. The T7 is newer, but you're limited to Canon EF and EF-S lenses. With a mirrorless camera and a cooker off inexpensive adapters, you can use almost any lens ever made. So it opens up less-expensive options for macro lenses, as an example. Ultimately, get the camera you enjoy using and that will make it easier for you to make your work.
