- A&Z #1050 - Professional eater Randy Santel versus Caliendo's "Wise Guy" Massive Italian Chicago Calzone Challenge hosted by Caliendo's Italian Restaurant & Bar in Winfield, Illinois, an outer suburb of Chicago, Illinois!! Caliendo's in Winfield hosts 3 different man vs food eating restaurant challenges and a few of our competitive eating friends have beaten one or more of them. @KatinaEatsKilos and I each wanted to start off by trying Caliendo's massive "Wise Guy" Italian Chicago Calzone which has a very short 30 minute time limit to finish everything. I ordered my calzone "mixed" and it was filled with both meats and healthy vegetables - Italian sausage plus grilled onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. The marinara sauce that comes with the meal is optional and so was the dessert I ordered for afterwards. Winners earn the $25 Italian food meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Caliendo's Wall of Fame. Caliendo's "Wise Guy" Massive Italian Calzone Challenge in Winfield, Illinois ($25):
- Caliendo's Restaurant & Bar has served the Winfield, Illinois area for many years now.
- Caliendo's offers three different food challenges on the menu, including this "Wise Guy" Calzone.
- They also host a "Hitman" Burger Challenge and "Bada Bing" 2ft Long Italian Sandwich Challenge.
- For this giant calzone challenge, you can order it as a "Meat Lovers," "Veggie Lovers," or "Mixed."
- My "mixed" was filled with lots of sausage balls plus green peppers, onions, and mushrooms.
- Each calzone is filled with homemade red pizza sauce and lots of 100% mozzarella cheese.
- There is a 30 minute time limit to finish it all. The whole calzone weighs around 4-5 lbs total.
- Winners earn the $25 Italian calzone meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Wall of Fame.
- Please call ahead to schedule your challenge in advance if you are interested in trying one.

Around 30 years ago a place opened up near me called pizza time, they delivered, they had a good size menu, delivery place with a large menu, the food can't be that good. I figure I'd try it, everything was better than good. One day I decide to try a large calzone, I do not know how this place made money. Ricotta, Mozz, I did the meat one, it had to be 3lbs, under $10. I tried to force myself, I didn't get through half of it. Was dinner for the next 2 nights.
Now a beer drinking contest, I won a few of those.

kinda weird to see the prices in US so different from Denmark. 25$ for a calzone this size. In Denmark that would easily be 35$
A lot of people in the comments are down on eaters when the challenge looks within the realm of possible by a regular big eater but it actually hypes me up. Why would I ever try one that looks "impossible" when I'm just a regular guy?
Um, this is not a calzone! It’s a Stromboli!! A calzone has ricotta in it. This just has mozzarella in it! Pizza places need to get their stuff straight!

I might be wrong but in my experience a Calzone has ricotta in it, and if not then Stromboli. Coming from NY it was always just sauce, ricotta, and mozzarella..delicious. Still yours looked amazing and I’m sure u easy crushed it!
