Yeah, I think LEDs generally flash about 200 times a second. It has no effect on the human eye, but cameras pick up the occasional flashes. There's usually less flicking on an 60fps camera than a 30fps camera.
Q: Why does an engine or truck respond? Part 1A: State Law requires it. Part 2A: Fire engines and trucks carry medic tools as well as they can or they do carry a paramedic.
Hope they victim was alright in the end. I wonder what the deadly weapon was? Cambridge PD got some nice cars! Also liking the shutters on the Cambridge Fire Engine. Good coverage. P.S. Interesting Land Rover Discovery with the lights!
Have seen this before on other fire engines, why do they have STOP SIGNS on the inside of their doors, I mean if they park somewhere and they actually leave the doors open, are people supposed to STOP just like a regular stop sign that there are out on the roads?????
Very often in the US the fire department is dispatched to allow extra manpower or because there are no paramedics on the ambulance (only EMTs). These are the main reasons. In the video you can see that this fire dept has a dedicated paramedic van in addition to that.
My dad is the lieutenant on Squad 2 it was pretty awesome seeing him respond in the video
The headlights on the random LandRover Discovery are pretty cool.
