Modifying The HSP Xstr Pro To Be Much Better

- Hi everyone, in this video I will be modifying the HSP XSTR Pro to drastically improve its steering stability, and overall performance. I first try using aluminium to fabricate the parts, but run into issues. So i use blender 3D to design some parts that I print using an Ender 3 v2 3D printer. This video is the result of 2 weeks filming, and one month creating voice overs and editing. Thanks to all those that gave feed back on my channel and my video format.

Nice fabricating You are exactly right all that slop in the front wheels definitely hurts it's ability to corner and track well I raced 2wd 1/10 stadium trucks competitively from 2000 - 2004 Mostly electric Learning how to set up the camber toe in shocks etc is critical if ya want to be competitive Driving is only half of the challenge in racing If you have a truck that doesn't turn or land well it doesn't much matter how good you can drive you want stand a chance Cool vid 🔥👍✌️

You're right, the play in the front of these cars is pretty bad.

Great video. I'm gonna try doing the same for all wheels but because my skills are less advanced, I will make it so the wheels can no longer turn. So only straight lines but it will be really steady 👌

I have this exact buggy and same problems with understeer and oversteer. You should seek these upgrades as a package I'd be really interested! :)
If i was to do that now, the parts would have to be 3D printed.
That's not an issue though is it? How durable is the material you used for 3d printing in your video? also did you test its strength also?
@@unrealvisions2165 it's not as strong as the other plastics on the car, but it's also not completely useless. However, after such a mod the car is no longer a basher.

Great video. I really like how you strengthened the front end. You really seem to have Blender mastered. It's good to know that your 3d printer works with Blender. Was there a particular file format you used? FBX, OBJ ?

Hi, Recently I have been thinking about opening an Etsy store for such things. However shipping out of New Zealand can be prohibitively expensive. I will have to think of a solution so others can also get this mod.
@@MrGridStrom hi! I noticed after watching your video, there seems to be different model numbers on the HSP Planet. The 94060 does actually come out with similar, but the 94995 and 94990 not. Have a look. Very confusing.
Hi, friend! how's it going? They told me that this buggy has very simple and fragile shock towers (they bend very quickly). Do you think that if I put a brushed motor and a 2s lipo on this car, the shock towers will easily double? regards! (I would not jump more than 3 inches or 10 cm high)

Yeah everything is still attached. Granted I only take it out once every few months, these days. Im planning on making the STL files available once i get the time to do so.
I think there's a few of us that would like you to make the kit complete and state your price then mail it. I feel like I live at work so I understand when you get time 👍🏽

If you want to make and sell this as a complete kit I beg please let me know. I'll definitely make it worth your time and effort so just name the exact price you would like for your labor/time and materials plus where to send it and I with out a blink of an eye or doubt will buy 2-3 sets right away plus pass the word on to many others I know who have some sort of the same exact vehicle!! It absolutely insane jus how easily you could make tons of money off this product! Not sure if you know but not only does hsp use this chassis ,chassis brace, and shock towers in this buggy but also on many of theyre other vehicles like the brontosaurus and others. Plus not only is it hsp but there's tons of other companies like exceed rc, redcat racing and others who have used this same chassis setup on things like the exceed infinitive,redcat volcano epx and tons of other vehicles. So the need for fix that's done to this level of expertise is absolutely unbelievable! I can't explain to you. But you literally have a million dollars idea right here and that's the farthest thing from a joke. once words spread you make this and the word would spread like wild fire you wouldn't be able to keep up on the orders I promise you that!!!
It's definitely really something to take into consideration I'm not even joking. Your work is unbelievably done well and looks like it was professionally built in a factory. I'm absolutely blown away with this you've gained my respect and really hope you atleast are willing to sell me a set or two if your not wanting to make it into an actual product. I'll definitely make it worth every penny of your time and materials. But if I was you id sit down and really think deep and hard about selling it as a full kit because it will fly off the shelf and you would be absolutely rich!
Yeah this is the plan, but im going to see how much interest there is. If things work out I will have the parts made with Injection molding. Would be nice to get a little extra money to fund more videos. Thanks for the kind comments. Edit: Ive done some thinking, I could make a 3D printed kit using black PLA Plus, but you'll have to give me a few months to make it happen.
@@MrGridStrom absolutely. Just let me know what you were thinking price wise and if you want me to send it through PayPal or whatever and I will definitely buy them. They'res a bunch of hsp brontosaurus,redcat,exceed groups on Facebook. That would be the best way to get the word out also on hsp,redcat,exceed forms and the word will spread like absolute wild fire cause literally everyone who owns anyone of those brands suffers from this issue and no one has came out with a better idea then what you made. It's honestly impressive to say the least. Coolest part for you would be literally there's not difference between the buggy's to monster trucks so it's literally one single mold and you've covered an insane amount of vehicles!! Money spent on the mold would be payed off literally the first day your run it !!
@@MrGridStrom I posted a ten second clip off you showing the finished product one of the redcat forums and 8 separate people in less than an hour all asked me the same thing in a different way. But in some sort of way they ask " what kit and where can it purchased it!" Just to see if the only one wanting to buy it.
I let em all know it was made by a TH-camr but that you are thinking about producing a kit and that if you really did so I'd let em all know where to go and purchase it whenever you up and are ready to start making em.
