Urban sketching a street in Italy and trying some Ian Fennelly techniques for the first time. #urbansketching #watercolour #ianfennelly #tombow #staedtlerpigmentliners
JFI - I think Ian does - light grey tombow pen, then uses watercolour paint, then goes in with ink pen for detail after the paints dried, it really loosens up the drawing if you do it in that order. X
Thanks for sharing this! I haven’t used the tombow markers in this way - I didn’t know you could! Also, those terracotta pots really popped once you re-did them! Such a lovely painting!
Most excellent! For Inktober, I simply left the drawing with the Mono shading then used a waterbrush to blend them for shadows etc ... and it was gorgeous. Just the Mono Dual Pens are awesome. Now mix them with general watercolors as you just did and there's a wow factor. Also, unlike a pencil, no need to erase as they blend away with water. Thank you. Awesome sketch/ painting!
Great job, especially for a technique you've never tried before. Nothing I value more than learning and seeing this willing to try. I rather enjoy your finished image.
