  • In this video, we will some of the best tips to grow Anubias and Ferns. These 10 Aquascaping tips will help you understand everything about Anubias and Ferns.
Ferns and Anubias are considered low light plants, low tech plants, and low co2 plants. But are these plants really low tech and low light. Let's see that
We all know that Anubias and ferns can grow on stone, wood and without soil.
Anubias main strength is in its rhizomes.
    Leaves - Photosynthesis
    Rhizome - Energy Store
    Roots - Stability.
    Different types of Anubias plants
    1. Anubias Nana
    2. Anubias Nana petite
    3. Anubias Barteri
    4. Anubias gold
    Some of the best ferns
    1. Java Fern
    2. Bolbitis
    3. Narrow fern
    4. Needle ferns
Here are the best tips and tricks to grow Anubias and ferns
    1. Good lighting can bring the best out of Anubias and ferns growth.
These plants can survive even in the low light but when they get good lighting they grow much better.
    2. Anubias and ferns need to be tied firmly for better growth.
    3. Anubias and ferns need good fertilizer dosing too, this will help the growth.
    4. Stabilized co2 dosing will definitely help Anubis and ferns growth.
    5. Anubias and ferns do not need soil, but with soil, they get better nutrients and will grow better.
    6. Anubias, when bought do not tie them immediately to the wood or stone. put them in the already established tank for acclimatization to adjust to your conditions.
    8. When buying Anubias or ferns look at the Rhizome, not the number of leaves.
    9. Anubias and ferns do not like to be disturbed.
    10. Trim or remove the yellow leaves and melted leaves from the Anubias bunch. This will help new leaves to form.
I hope you have enjoyed the tips and tricks and will be using Aquascaping tips for your Aquarium setup.

Very nice video sir..just now started new with java ferns and anubias..very wonderfully explained and all doubts were cleared..firstly I was quite surprised to foind that low light , low feet means it is for survival but not for a good growth..I was absolutely till then working foolishly..sir I have purchased java ferns but it is turned black ..so many suggested to fertilise less and lights to work for 4hrs to 6 hrs..some said potassium is high and nitrate is low....so I am unable to actually figure out the problem and just moving from one door to another for solution

    • @MayurDevAquascaper
      @MayurDevAquascaper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear Shakti,
I have seen your posts in a few groups, there is a basic understanding for ferns, they need as much light and fertilisers like other plants and there is nothing called low light
Now trim the old leaves, make sure the light CO2 and fertilisers are optimum, if you have a god soil it always helps.
The mistake people make with ferns is that they treat them differently, that is the first mistake

Great video sir. Very informative. Here in my city we don't have access to CO2 systems. The most i could do is use a fire extinguisher as my CO2 source. Which is kind of sad. Even if i get a CO2 cylinder from ada I'm not really sure there people can or will refill it citing security concerns. I can't use liquid CO2 since they can be harsh on my ferns and moss. Love this hobby unfortunately lack of essential equipment has been a hindrance.
I'm planning to rip off one of my tanks next year.
Do you sell online, where we can order plants?

    • @MayurDevAquascaper
      @MayurDevAquascaper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

There is no difference in the design of the Fire Extinguisher cylinder and the regular cylinder.
ADA does not make Co2 Cylinders, we only have a small use and throw kind.
Look for a person or company in your city that refills for hospitals and Pepsi or Coke cylinders.
All you will need is the adaptor and other fittings that you can buy.
Check out my video on CO2 connections

Please recommend a liquid fertilizer for Anubias and ferns. In my 38 cm cubical tank I have Anubias minima, Nana petite, wavy leaf java fern and narrow leaf java fern. The anubiases are growing pretty good. But the ferns are giving me a headache. I have a small LED light running about 8 hours every day. The ferns grow leaves but after some days black and brown pathches and holes grows all over the leaves. I trim those leaves and same happens for the new ones. Sometimes I think of getting rid of the ferns and keep only the anubiases. Please help. I want to make a bushy growth of lush green java fern at the background.

Dear Mayur Sir, I am having trouble growing Needle Leaf Ferns. Java fern is growing well..rather profusely. Needle fern was added recently.. maybe it is acclimating to my tank. Needed tips specifically for Needle Fern. It is a slow plant.. old leaves are giving out new plants.. and i do see new leaves as well.. still something tells me ..they r not at their best. Also is there anything actually called the "Fern disease" ? or is it a myth ?? Old java fern leaves are growing brown na black holes.. trimming them. I think its because of tank temp in summer. There is a lot of useful Information for you in the video, it does answer most of your questions, still here are some tips
      1. Trim the leaves of the needle fern completely, if the leaf is growing new leaves on it, it is not good
      2. Yes there is a fern disease and ADA Phytongit can help
