Take A BREAK Before Your BODY FORCES YOU To Take One

  • Whether you're suffering from physical or mental fatigue remember taking a break and giving your body time to heal is so important. It's something we all need to do now and then, men especially don't take care of their health and go as far as ignoring mental health completely. I did and needed to get away to start to heal, if you feel the same but can't get away give yourself a break in some other way and remember if you need to chat about things feel free to drop me a message. Talking helps.
    Cheers for watching.

Thanks for all the great messages, I wasn't expecting it for this one to be honest and wasn't going to upload it. As always the wife was right and she said, you have to as it may help someone else. The break away and support here has been brilliant to get me back on the right track. Many thanks 🙏

a brave video to put out here, none of us blokes like to admit we have any weakness but truth is we all do and need to take care of ourselves, mentally and physically, first and foremost. Thankyou for this, if it saves just one person from illness of any sort, especially mental wellbeing, then you're a hero.

I got ill with gut issues near the start of covid, left me utterly fatigued. Somehow I kept working through it but never knew how I’d get through the day. In the end I got a diagnosis (that they should have seen on day one!) and I have some medication that helps a bit.
But it made me reassess my business. I no longer advertise and I only do a five hour day as I’m still left with a lot of fatigue.
Holidays are great but try and find time every day to relax and unwind.

Hope you're doing ok now. It's difficult to carry on when your guts are playing up and the fatigue is awful. I'm 90% at the moment and still having a few tests. Definitely made me step back and look what I'm doing and you're right, daily changes are needed. Many thanks for your comment, take care👍

You are spot on, my wife tells me the same thing, you need to rest your body she tells me, and my response like yours and i guess many others. But how about the money that will be lost plus the cost of going on holiday, and the customers etc, then i get that look, so i then have to pull my head out of the work mode, and start listening and yep your right, your body will tell you that you are over doing it, when you listen to it, the struggle is finding that even keel of work time and down time in life, and what really matters, i am fortunate i love my job as a gardener, but the down side of that can mean i spend to much time working, and not enough time relaxing to recharge, so thanks for reconfirming what we all know, but find so hard to do when running your own business

This is the best thing that I’ve heard and seen in a very long time! I reckon that God…or Google…’targeted’ me personally! As a gardener, I wholeheartedly agree with everything you’ve said! I feel like I’m on the verge of a breakdown, simply because I very rarely take a break….but mainly because I can’t say NO! It’s not for the money, though! I know that I don’t charge enough! Some customers are generous and it’s certainly appreciated whereas some others say that I should increase my prices, yet they never give me any extra! Anyway, I’ll take this video as a message to slow down, enjoy the hobbies again, that I used to do, and re assess my work/ life balance!

Ive been doing this a long time now and i still dont rest, charge or relax enough. Great video as always Nathan. I can honestly say as a 17 year old lad who left school last year and started my own gardening company as soon as I could drive after always wanting to work in the industry, the advice from your Chanel is so valuable and inspiring and has even got me thinking about setting up my own Chanel documenting what I’m up to. It’s so important to learn from people with so much experience and is definitely a motivator when it comes to work ethic and so on. It’s all really helpful. This video in particular couldn’t have come at a better time after working 7:30-6:30 6 days a week since February taking a few days off last week really helped me pick back up some energy after it felt like I was running on empty for a while. Good on you Nathan. You both deserve your break. I’ve been running a 3 person up to 5 person gardening business in north Lancashire for the last 18 years. I like you will of done 50 hours a year. I’m now 58. My wife now works with me . She does 25k steps per day behind a stihl mower. That keeps you fit but takes it out of you. We now own a motorhome from her previous 37 year nhs pension. So we take 1 week out of 4 to recharge our batteries and see a bit of the UK we have taken for granted. You gotta enjoy your Tenerife or Cotswold break. The grass can and should and will wait mate. Always enjoy your no nonsense videos. Keep up the great work mate. Cheers dave

Just a thought… I’ve just watched questiontime … 2 problems we need 1.5 million new homes but we are probably 33k bricklayers short in the labour market to achieve this…! 2nd point we’re going to release prisoners at 40-45% of their sentence tariff as there is not enough prisons
Am I stupid or stating the obvious….! Teach the prisoners to become bricklayers ( not a choice in this decision….. your becoming a bricklayer). Then ultimately we can build more houses and more prisons and then…! Prisoners serve their full term and kids can buy a house in the town they was born in…! If your “woke” don’t bother re posting as this suggestion applies to the 99% hahaha
