I just enjoy being in this ship. I keep getting told it's to big for what I need but every time I see it I smile. Every time I join the game after bed logging the night before I smile, every time I walk around it I smile. The people that say money can't buy you happiness don't own a Carrack.

Big enough to be useful, small enough to fly solo. I love mine, especially that med bay when we hit a buggy patch...
I got a carrack for free and that thing fucking sucks. I was all happy when I got only to stop using it on the same day lmao only decent thing there is the med bay and the hangar, other than that it's absolutely worthless. The Carrack is one of those ships that will only be good when we actually have a bunch of systems to explore. Until then it just mainly looks cool.
@@vashbain3136 One of the best things about the game is everyone is not doing the same thing. We can all enjoy doing different things in different ships. I love running cargo in anything that holds more than a few boxes and shooting some bad guys in the face on my downtime. Corsair and Carrack are my go to ships.
I just purchased my Carrack Expedition Pack, lifetime insurance, lots of toys with it. I named it the “Remo Williams” because the adventure begins. I shimmied my way up in value by buying and upgrading various ships over time. This purchase was a no brainer and it’s already home. Thanks for the video and see you all out there. o7

i quite literally do that....i live outta my carrrack as much as i can...armed to the teeth with snub fighters ... pieces....and rovers .....stv....roc.....i absolutely love it...just doing my own thing with carrack in the background and then doing a few bunkers or diving down to the surface leaving my carrack in a safe location.....if u ever see a massive ship named "Its not u its me" .....thats mine XD o7

@@omni_0101 I got 5 furies in the inner hangar on technical deck, on the top deck hangar roof I got one pieces one arrow and another fury, in my vehicle hangar, I. Have one stv, one rover and one roc
You left those on the roof? Can you store the ship like that? I love the idea of pairing my carrack with an arrow once it gets to deploy the landing gear without folding the wings. I didn’t know that the roof was a viable option!

I have a Carrack Expedition and it’s one of the few permanent hangar ships I’ll never melt. I haven’t used her in a while because of the 30k’s, instability and general time it takes to load up, but if we get a period of stability then I will definitely be living off her once more. I also think a fully crewed Carrack will be one of the best ways to make the jump to Pyro and explore a fairly hostile system. Her extended QT range, drones for repair, 3D print/crafting station and cartography deck with the med bay and advanced engineering, plus huge cargo space, make the Carrack such a versatile option.
What the ship does need though is a gold pass at some point, plus the rear elevator should go to ground level, and the Jeffery’s tube ladder should also all access to the habitation deck as well. Otherwise I would also just tweak the ship dimensions to slightly increase the hangar size (mostly height) so it can fit a few more ships in. It won best ship in the verse twice for a reason. Oh, and it’s ridiculous a military derived ship not having any pilot weapons: the very least a turret should be slaved, but to me a couple of gimballed S3’s is an obvious one for some basic defence if the crew is planetside and you’re minding the Carrack alone as the pilot in orbit.
CIG said last year (I believe) that only the dedicated medical ships will have a T1 bed. Carrack will have a T2... I believe you can respawn in T1 and T2.

Congrats to all of you new ship owners .We bought back a Redeemer and after 4 years of saving finely got a Kraken for our Org base . The Carrack is a great ship .
Those things near the airlocks that you didn't recognize, the cabinet things with the glass doors; I'm pretty sure those are supposed to be lockers for space suits for EVA. I don't know if we will be able to put armor sets in there, but that would be nice too.

Three things you may not know about your Carrack:
1.The bottle on the shelf in the Captains quarters reads 'Jean Lucs' winery.
2.There is a hidden podium that rises out of the floor behind the pilots seat. It will hold weaponry, or a self destruct button. You have to be looking at the floor to see the prompt.
3.Next to the workbench is a 3D printer, similar to the one on the Vulture, to manufacture any tools you don't have on you. It currently does not work.
Would you consider doing a video on the things you want CIG to address about the Carrack during a design update?
Things that would make the carrack the best ship ever:
- The pilot should control the remote turret if the gunner seat is empty.
- At least one of the elevators should allow you to exit the ship.
- Landing gear should have a little bit more clearance, to allow you to land in an uneven terrain without damaging the bottom turret (I usually lose a gun down there)
- And I know it’s a stretch, but I’d love if the hangar could be a little bit larger… Just a little bit…

very nice but you can't refuel your smaller ships inside the carrack. they need to add that option to land in the carrack and refuel/repair/reload

Welcome to the family/club! Carrack was my dream ship from 2016 to 2022 when I finally got one. Its a beautiful beast of a ship!
They won't be downgrading the T-2 bed anymore. It'll still be a spawn point but the quality in which you respawn will be lower than a T-1.
So in other words, instead of coming back with 5 full hearts, you'll come back with like 3 and some change.
You made a good choice the Carrack is just such an amazing all around ship and it doesn't even have all of it's features yet. My one complaint and it's a silly one because it's purely asthetic, is that after seeing the Corsair the Carrack needs individual bunks for the crew. It has enough space that it can fit them in and I hope when it gets it's gold standard pass they end up adding them.
Totally, the Carrak has so much wasted spaces that it's crazy the crew accomodation isn't nicer . The captain's quarters are also very minimal. I want a king size bed!
Don't forget the top of the hangar door area has gravity and ships will sit there. Opens all kind of more options as it turns into a mini carrier. Even had the vulture up there before. Carrack is super scary when fully crewed and has a ballista or nova sitting on top lol
All good ships deserve a name. And a cool paint job.
I have a Redeemer and a Hercules. But then my kid that I play with traded up to a Galaxy and got a Carrack as a replacement. We love it. Three Fury’s in the hanger and a Ursa and a MT and we can do everything. It’s a great ride. My boy bought the blue paint job ;)

You can use the hangar door as a landing pad by the way, it lets you land your buck without having to remove the top guns.
I remember their is a heigh limit to what ships can park on top hangar. I also wanna know if the arrow or avenger ships work.
@@xzwarrior347 So what he means is, you can park another ship on top of the closed hangar door, outside the ship, and the ship you park there will stay - even when you fly and quantum.

I had 3 30K in two hours today, with some ppl complaining they had 7! Add in the longer claim times, and I’m surprised ppl are still mining and hauling (though 30K protection has just been reactivated).
Once PES came in, I intended to try living out of my Carrack, but due to all the 30Ks, my Carrack’s not left the hanger since patch 3.19 dropped, when I used it haul gear up to Port Olisar.
Why didn’t you park your Bucc on the hanger door? That’s how i carry two Pisces.
Oh yes, don’t use the elevator while in QT, and don’t try sitting in the drone station seats.
Oh yea, and you get a new spermsuit when you respawn in the Carrack.

You can carry another fighter or snub on top of the hangar doors wich makes the carrack a nice pocket carrier. The arrow also fits in the hangar bay if you keep the landing gear up.
4 Furys fit in the hangar quite comfortably as well
One thing no one else seems to have mentioned... on the Sub Deck next to the suit lockers on either side of that large chamber by the rear elevator are two Weapon Racks, hidden in the forward walls. You skipped right past them in your walkthrough. Also, there's a hidden shared storage space next to the medical bed, where you can store things for now (it is theorized to be used for medical supply storage for the medbed to use in a future mechanic not yet in the game).
I ccu upgraded to the carrack from the 600i the other day too. Every day I feel like a made a good decision and a mistake. I keep the fury in the garage ramp since a noob started shooting at me while I was entering. I didn't have to go up the elevator I just launch out the front and gun'em down.
So you don't actually own a Carrack, you own a CCU?. CCU's are a waste of time, false economy and you loose more than you gain. Melt it, and you have a 600i
The "Workshop" is a component repair shop. You will be able to repair ship components on this ship. This ship is designed to operate independently for a long long time
I put a Rover and an STV in my garage and a c8r and fury in the hangar. All of them fit perfectly with no clipping or moving around.
If I want a "home" I'd definitely want an 890jump, it even has a sauna.

I've had mine since 2015 and named her Farpoint .
Rented it on May 29th 2023 for the Invictus week. Ran around the ship in absolute wonder, marveling at the size and awesomeness. Got into the pilot seat, couldn't start it. Went upstairs to the upper bridge, started it, started VERY CAREFULLY getting out of the hangar (spawned in the top-door hangar), blew up right after passing the exit doors. Much sadness....
Upgraded the C2 to Carrack today, and I don't regret it. The sheer potential loops in both solo and with crew is worth it. Having a mobile base is just really good for exploration.
That ship can do so much more as you´ll know it. You can place another 2 pisces in the upper hangar, in the medical bay near the monitor to it´s right in the wall you´ll encounter a Shared storage where players can trade/swap their gear without puting things in boxes or pilling them up. It fits 6 furies in the closed hangar(cramming in it, i do not recommend, would use 4) and 9 furies in the upper hangar(some people placed 12, i would only let them place 6 for safety reasons). The hassle of the Carrack is that sometimes it takes to much time to prepare it to live in it, take your time buying boxes to place Food , drinks, acessories , spare multitools , grenades and ammo in the local inventory, then move only one box per travel(assuming you´ll the Carrack sometimes).
The set-up time is definitely the worst. My friend and I have move on from his Carrack to my Corsair for most content. The only thing we miss is the Tier 2 Medical bed for spawning. But, since it's both of us, we just make sure we both have med equipment out the wazoo

2 pisces? One in the hangar bay and one on top of the hangar? or some other configuration?
@@Maligxxx Correct. One in the hangar and then on the top. There is a bubble of gravity that vehicles will stay attached to the Carrack. Anything that falls outside of that bubble will not stay on the ship during movement
@@Maligxxx Upper hangar can fit 2 pisces side by side(and add 1 Razor or 2 Furies ), Closed Hangar can fit 1 pisces and have spare room for 1 Fury , i just do not fill it to the brim due to possible accidents and time consuming it will be, i´m in the game to play not micromanage it, so setting up personal limits is more beneficial to enjoy it

I really enjoy mine, I have a tendency to get turned around when I'm in a rush and wind up in engineering. Also, I believe the compartments you had questions about are for suits / armor.
Those funny standup areas that look like escape pods are Suit Lockers
I just realized yesterday I picked up the C2 and I have a corsair. I exchanged the C2 and upgraded my Corsair LTI to the Carrack.
Once 30ks are a thing of the past Ill be happy to live out of my carrack. it flies well and easy to land in atmo compared to other large ships.
I'm going to try to make my MSR my home, maybe even a C1 when they come out.

I’m ccu chaining to the 600i explorer and really looking forward to the rework. Giving it a go as a live aboard once the rework is out. I like the pilot controlled weapons and the maneuverability of the 600i. Also looking forward to the medbay for respawns and the bigger cargo for a little trade.
I have my options open for a ccu to the carrack, if the 600i doesn’t live up to my expectation.
Just melted my c2 and did the ccu chain to get mine. Named it Sinners Lament! Congrats on yours!
You can store items for your friends to use in the external storage bin, to the left of the medical bed as you look at it. There's a little container there on the wall. You can put guns, ammo, food, armor, etc. there so your crew can share items.
The coffin-shaped closets might be suit storage for the air locks.
Great Vid. Loved the Carrack since I ground the AUEC the 1st time. Incredibly versatile. With the respawning med bed I use it to chain bunkers. Bed log when done and pick up next day, 30ks notwithstanding. I get fed with the ignorant who say 'it's not a solo ship' or 'it's useless because exploration gameplay isn't it game yet'. it can be just as much solo'd as it can be multi-crewed. Rarely gets mentioned but it's the only ship I know that has an 'atmosphere', it makes those background sounds engines on or off. As for trading, you can do that too, C2s they're so one dimensional.
if you fly at the command thing and someone is under you cant control the bottom has steering its definitley for operation. however obviously the command center gets back the control if nobody is under

If you didnt know, the armory is all the way aft on the sub deck. you have two gun racks concealed behind the wall. you should try slapping a razer in the hangar bay. i run that with an ursa rover, a roc, and a greycat stv in the vehicle bay
You don't have to store a ship inside the Carrack. You can have a ship landed on top of the hanger doors and it says just fine. Hell, you can park an Anvil Ballista on top of the Carrack and use it as a missile turret.
I dont like leaving something exposed out there, plus I like the idea of having a fighter hidden in the bay
Carrack is awesome, with a crew it’s 100x better! Awesome buy man, I have one myself (as a loaner for the Odyssey of course with the name of TCC Caelestis) and I absolutely love it!
This ship seriously reminds me of the Normandy from Mass Effect 2.

The single biggest flaw the carrack has is no pilot accessible weapons. Thats it. Other than that its damn near fucking perfect. Thankfully its tanky enough to give you enough time to GTFO of the area if you do get jumped on. However if you can get this thing fully manned, its really formidable. I use it as my daily driver. Right now mine has a lynx and a ROC parked in the belly, and a fury parked in the top hangar.
Mine currently is a loaner, I got it because I bought the odyssey and I think its a great loaner while waiting for that thing to come online, its basically just the carrack's bigger, badder brother but even when it comes out the carrack is always going to be a great ship.
i have upgraded my connie taurus to a corsair, i couldn't call the taurus a home, but the corsair is my home
the fact it can carry a pisces AND a fury confortably is why i used my buy back token
It looks like the secondary bridge-captain area is perhaps for delicate manouvers like docking in a tight spot or something like that
I love the Carrack. The ONE thing it needs is a human entrance, like the front elevator going down to the ground. OK, TWO things, they need to finish the cargo bays and have them open. The stock Quantum drive might be the worst in the game, but easy upgrade.
Hey, with the new weapon salvage, you could keep a size 4 weapon inside the hangar and slap it on the bucc before taking off. I don't know if you can have weapons pre-mounted to the spinal mount, but I have seen the positioning hologram on a gimbal sitting on the floor.
I love my loaner Carrak. I picked up the red and gold skin for it during Valentines day and it looks amazing. Besides all of the features it has I think it has the best engine shut down and turn on audio in the game. If you have you haven't heard it get a friend to turn them on and off for you. It's hard to hear when you're in the pilots seat.
I was thinking of the Valkerie as a home. Pilot has guns can hold a vehicle only down side is no cargo grid.
The Valk is good shit. It's really cool looking and sounds beefy

I LOVE the Carrack, my only gripe with it is that I WISH it had some pilot-controlled weapons. I hate that I have to run away all the time (LOL). I do love that it has so much health and shield that I can run though. Concerning the medbed and spawning; I doubt it will go away considering the Galaxy is getting a Tier 1 bed and the Carrack is only a Tier 2. The Carrack is billed as exploration also so it makes sense that you should be able to spawn there. You will still need to go to a medical facility though if you get something that a Tier 2 can't handle. My hope is that they add a consumable to the beds to limit respawn, all signs point to the fact that they are planning on it.
I miss them too, but I don't plan on putting my carrack into the Frey unless absolutely necessary
get that furry back... you can put a Pisces and Fury both up in the upper hanger at the same time comfortably.
When the cargo bays start functioning, nothing will beat it as the ultimate space winnebago
The Arrow fits too, just don’t put the landing gears down (eventually they will be separate to the wing raise)
It's a good so for cargo runs. Be aware if you stop in between the bulk head doors between bays and they close you are stuck. If you are bound to carrack you can just death gate to med Bay though.
These ships need a quantum beacon so we can warp to them after we 30k!!! That's my only hesitation with getting a Carrack and stuffing it full! I could spend 1-2h loading it all up and get 30k'd off the server and have to reclaim it, everything vanishing in the process.

Pulled the trigger on it a few days back as well, nothing like it in the verse. Having your own is just something special, even if I'd normally advise against buying with cash.

Have been using the Carrack as a liveaboard for two years but with 30K's and erratic bed logging it's not really practical until the game gets some stability, you soon get tired claiming and re-loading it. There have been some periods where it worked, think the longest I ever managed was about 6 days game time. I also use the buccaneer and you don't have to lose the spinal mount, just the size 4, I have two size 2 Scorpions on top but any size two 's will fit and your back to six weapons. I don't think CIG will remove the respawn point, they have never said they would, it's one of the main selling points and so necessary for an exploration vehicle that they're adding one to the 600i rework. Hope you get as many hours of pleasure from the Carrack as I have.
You should see if the buccaneer will stay on top of the hanger door during travel. If it does You could put those guns back on. Also name suggestion The Nut House.

Yeah I had the same conundrum with the 600i, the rework will really be the only competitor to soloing a big exploration ship (that is flyable) but the devs still havent confirmed production phase yet. Would be great to have it by AIE. The fact that so few bigger ships are any closer to flyable states mean this was a great move to switch to a Carrack, in the meantime!
this is the reason i bought a Ody, i dont care what people say about it, or what they compare it with. Just imagining everything i can do with it makes me happy.

Got my Galaxy Carrack loaner but only been able to fly it in PTU. LIVE servers are too messed up right now. First attempt to fly it in PU showed up to hangar hangar hangar hangar full of wrecks and asop saying Carrack destroyed. Can't wait for ILW to be finished.
I haven't had many issues in live servers. And thank god too because I'm done spending time in ptu servers. I spent 4 months in ptu. I will not go back.
I just wish it had some sort of pilot weapons for defense for when I can't game with friends. I wouldn't fly anything else if it did.
I tried one as I bought it in 3.18.2, butI hate the Carrak. Each time I try to move form the pilot seat, and I mean EVERY TIME, indipendently by the server, the ship drops me in space and I need to claim it back (an absurd wait!)

Ah the Carrak, I love this ship, its as close as I could get to owning a flyable capital ship in game, until CIG can allow me to load it up at a spaceport with a snub and a ground vehicle I'd probably settle on the Spirit series, the Carrack is a true multi crew ship to really make it shine as a ship and it needs other people to really get the most out of it. Tried to use it as a daily driver, annoyed that the armor racks dont work and that the gun racks only hold guns but no place for ammo and if you have bad luck with 30ks waiting for it to respawn is probably going to be a lot of your gametime. I tried living in it and doing missions out of it but since you dont have a beacon for it if you leave it behind to use a CX or a snub you basically cant find it again. 😁
Hopefully we can get some kind of beacon soon.
and despite being out for years now, she still doesn't have the bridge armor plating, nor the sensor "quills" on her back...
i own 2 carracks both the standard and the expediton skin one, stats wise there is no difference between them from what i noticed. Carrack is like the ship i want to take out to do group bounties but my friends want to take the redeemer instead 😂 😁The carrack has so much future potential coming down the line. Ship gets better and better with introduction of medical gameplay, looting, salvaging etc. Kind of wish the side cargo areas could open like on the caterpillar so i could have an easier time to throw in looted ship guns from the failed negotiations mission :D

The Carrack doesn't have a crew morale area. The Connie Phoenix as an example has the best little bar in the verse.
The removal of respawn from the Carrack is an urban myth that has never, ever been said by CIG. Moreover these larger ships are meant to be mobile bases, so the ability for crew to regen and respawn there makes total sense for dynamic gameplay in a large universe, not have the ship need to head constantly to various place to pick crew back up after they die.
I think respawn belongs on all larger ships with a medical bay such as the Odyssey, BMM and above in terms of size, and the notion of taking away that feature would be BS to me.
Was considering getting one myself but can't justify the usage. One tip worth trying out is to see if the Buck will sit on the hanger door on top, apparently you can stow a ship on the top giving you more room + you can throw a snub in the hanger itself.
It won't, too tall. You can fit Pisces and multiple Fury's up there though

If you want that utility, you can do what I do and buy a Hercules series and fit an Arrow in the cargo hold

I love the 600i but how can you call it exploration ship with only 3000 QT fuel. Great video i look forward to seeing more of life on the Carrack
It's fuel cap hasn't been updated like a lot of ships. As we've moved closer to pyro ships like MSR, Crosair & cutter for example have taken range into better account. Most fuel ranges will updated.
I want the carrack too, and its all fun and games now, but will you be able to solo it when the game as reached it final stages, with alllll the details and management?

I will say this, the Carrack is going to be an amazing ship once Pyro comes out and when they do the gold standard pass on it. It's missing a lot of funcitonality and features that are supposed to be on the ship.
Sadly with the 30K issues going on, I cant justify not landing at a port and storing my ship instead of bed logging. Which has ruined a lot of the fun of building out ships as mobile bases.. At thid time, I would not recommend placing snyrhing into the ship inventory or into the weapon racks.
Also, be mindful of how your landing affects the ramp's distance form the ground. Theres nothing like closing up youe ship only to realize you now cannot reach the ramp once you put it down again and are now stuck

@@OneNutSupreme could park the c8 on top for ease of access. Since it has an entrance from the top of the ship at the bay. That way you could do box missions and stuff in the c8 and when you need to fight just do a swaparoo
@@OneNutSupreme I'm gonna see if a super hornet will fit on top of the bay. Imagine having the c8 variant in the bay then a super hornet at your disposal when needed and a ursa or lynx in cargo ramp

2xs8 guns slaved to the pilot and its able to do any job you throw at it from bounty hunting to cargo hauling to being a light carrier or even a drop ship for ground vehicles all the way to support like being a flying hospital or selling supplies to people far away from civilisation and with the size of the rear engine i think its going to be rather quick and its also an alien ship
it also has a point defence system to shoot down missiles and torpedoes
ive heard that too that their nerfing the med bed ... i know a few people who will be upset about that nerf
