    Those TFS heads (21º). I'm assuming, custom pistons and all the valvetrain stuff, or will they work with 23º valve reliefs? What do they flow compared to say, a similar effort set of AFR 210s? Thanks

    • @EllweinEngines
      @EllweinEngines  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes 21*. They work with 23* shelf pistons. I don't know the flow difference from AFR but If I had a choice I would go with AFR. But Advanced Induction was a fan of TFS ((probably just due to cost and not quality).

    To get like world record times like that do, you go High LSA or what?
    Seams like it would be low with 750 carb .
    Just learning how they dial in cams
    my lt1 has stocker 447 459 117 lsa cam but it wasnt getting that with stock rockers 1.324
    so with actual 1.5 cranes crane said it would make it 509 513 lift crane ad said it would ad 160 lift
    havent got to measure it yet
    clutch arm bolt backed out and cant roll over engine on lt1
    Does it sound like im on right track?

    • @EllweinEngines
      @EllweinEngines  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      well, honestly....I leave the camshaft design to the experts like my guy Dennis Staff and there is also Lloyd Elliott. I am not qualified to give cam advice. This cam in this engine is an Advanced Induction design by Phil Odem. For the good low ET the cam can be mild or wild. The whole car needs to be tuned in. the tires, gears, torque converter, cam, heads. So it's not really the cam doing this. The whole combo. best bang for the buck on low ET is gears and a really good a proper torque converter. The car will come to life with that sorted out. Stock cam or hot hot hot cam....the car needs the right torque converter and gears.

    How in the world did you get Ai to do your work on the heads, cam, and intake. I tried to get some work done by them (heads & cam) and gave up.
    Regardless, great and powerful build. 👍

    • @EllweinEngines
      @EllweinEngines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hello Enrique, I have not worked with Ai in about 2 years. Phil has so much work with LS heads that he cannot let the machines down for a bit to do LT1 heads. So I've been recommending AFR CNC heads direct from AFR.

Not sure yet but its knocking . I could take the cam out of the LT1 but.. Then I have two inop vehicles for a minute :) B body LT1 cam works nice in a Truck L03/L05 TBI engine. Would the stock ported fuel injected lt1 intake manifold support this power do you think or do you have to run the single plane with a carburetor.

    • @EllweinEngines
      @EllweinEngines  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      stock unported LT1 intake can support that power with forced induction or nitrous. I don't think all natural can do that power unless it was a very very high rpm set up like 8000 rpm

      @@EllweinEngines I know right The stock manifold is low pro, level with tops of heads.
      So it would take some engineering master mickey mousing for sure lol.
      looking at your build
      I have 750 on a stock 305 Elcamino it bogs off line but uses all 750 cfm after Rpms
      so I go 2/3 throttle build 3900 rpm and stomp it to floor and it feels like 350 pulling lol
      I bet youd hit 8 seconds with 850 holley.
      Have you tryed a bigger carb?
      Mystock LT1 Would handle more air with stock 733 cfm throttle body easily
      Every body thinks its a 48 mm but its a 52 mm with 4mm hole in bottom of throttle body
      because butterflys are open at idle Im going to make it 2 mm bigger lol it will adjust and butterflies will still be open lol
      maybe make the vortec tumble earlier
      at 12 and a half to 1 your forced induction like it or not .
      But like Headers You need easy flow on both ends
      Its like Hottie girl Better easy than making you earn it .
