How much extra weight are people adding to the 2024s to get good push while surfing? I demoed a 2022 and the guy was using the Swell Surf system and if I'm being honest, it didn't produce any push. I road behind a 2021 SE with 1k of lead and the owners had their own settings dialed in and the boat had great push. Does the newer, heavier 2024 with increased ballast have better push? I currently have a G23 with supplemental ballast and spend a lot of time behind a MasterCraft Xstar-S as a comparison.

We like to adjust the plate settings from the factory setting. With a lot of plate, the boat is going to list more. I've found that if you flatten the boat out a bit from left to right (or right to left) the wave has more push and more barrel in it. I was on an SL last night and the wave was very similar to the G23 with supplemental ballast after I made some adjustments. On the G we typically run 11.2-11.6 mph. On the SL we were running 10.9-11.2 so the face of the wave wasn't as firm as the G23 at the slightly slower speed, but the customer that I took out is 6'4", 240 pounds and he was cruising just fine with no rope riding a 4'7" Ronix Atlantik. He's not a great surfer. He rarely can go ropeless. But the wave was dialed and we were running stock ballast. I actually dropped the non-surf side to 90% and the bow to 85% because there were only two of us in the boat while someone was surfing.
