They bloody did. John said in an interview the day he died that he loved Paul, that they had their fights but at the end of the day he would do anything for him and loved him, and he knew Paul too loved him and would do anything for him.

Hi guys, I LOVED EVERY MINUTE of the GET BACK documentary and what a surprise to find out it actually ran for almost 8 hours instead of 6. I heard that Peter Jackson snuck in a little more without Disney knowing. Not sure if that is true or not, but it was longer than 6 hours. I got to see GET BACK on an IMAX screen this past Sunday. It was SOOOOOO good! I don't know if you saw it on IMAX, but if you didn't, it wasn't the entire documentary. It started out with a mini history of the Beatles starting out with their first recorded song done in a little shop "IN SPITE OF ALL THE DANGER" (which I LOVE and Paul has been performing it in the last few concert tours he did before CoVid.) and going with clips of their early years, Beatlemania , and up until 1969 and then we were able to see the ENTIRE roof top concert and when they left the roof and went down to the control room to listen to what was recorded up there. Maureen, Linda and Yoko were sitting in there with them along with George Martin, It was SO GREAT to see it on that giant screen. The theater was full. They only showed it for 4 days and only ONE showing per day. If the theater had been closer to where I live I would have gone another time, if I could get a ticket. It's coming out on DVD shortly, so I am excited by that! What did you both think?
We loved it too. Very very much. I'm a lifelong Beatles fan and have watched all the documentaries that have been made over the years. I loved the Anthology series too, but just when you think you;ve seen everything you can possibly see, we had this to devour. I was shocked at the range of emotions I felt during the eight hour viewing (yes I binged it!). I was in tears by the end when the old man in the street was saying that he thought they were great, as they were blasting the tunes out on the roof above. I am looking forward to watching it all again. We haven't seen the IMAX concert film yet, but no doubt we'll catch it on home media. So glad you enjoyed it Patti, I totally agree with your comments about the clothing and fashion also. Thanks so much for coming back and letting us know. Why would any band that had just released a double album feel compelled to be back in the studio like two weeks later? Take six months off, work on some solo projects, and come back fresh. It's no wonder they imploded.

this new Get Back film looks absolutely amazing. contrary to the Let It Be film from 1970, this newer release actually shows the lads having a ball. it is going to be fun
From their comments, they really disliked filming at Twickenham. A lot of the footage from 'Let It Be' did convey misery because of it. A lot of this preview shows them back in their nice warm studio where the mood was a lot better.
Yeah, the cold early mornings at Twickenham did nothing for their mojo. Lovely to see this footage of them looking so happy. Thanks for the comment!
That and I wonder if a conscious effort was made or will be made to cherry pick only the most upbeat parts of the footage. Something maybe, Lyndsey-Hogg didn’t get the memo on
A lot of the problem with the "Let It Be" movie was editing (which, ultimately, was under control of Michael Lindsay-Hogg; although Neil Aspinall is listed as the producer of the movie, and he was The Beatles de facto manager, until Allen Klein showed up - so, he could have said something about the way the movie was cut.)
@@meanderer06513 Right. And whether it was Lindsay-Hogg or Aspinal, I don't quite understand why they went with the downbeat cut, of the film. Great to see that it really wasn't like that. Can't wait for this new cut, by Peter Jackson. Looks Beatleutiful!

Update, in case you guys don't know...It is no longer a 2 hour theatrical release. It will be 6 hours worth shown over 3 days (in 2 hour increments), but can only be seen on the Disney Channel starting Thanksgiving night (in the U.S.) and for the next 2 days after. I can't get the Disney channel so I have to find someone who has it. I HOPE Peter Jackson will eventually release those 6 hours on DVD so I can BUY them and watch over and over, and hopefully have more footage on them.....like ALL 56 hours! lol!
Hey Patti! Yeah, we did see the change of plan and despite the fact that we won't get to see the lads on the big screen, it is ace news that there will be 6 hrs of documentary fabness instead. I'm sure their will be a blu ray / dvd release in the new year, but I wouldn't hold out for all 56 hours though! 😆 Good luck with seeing it and come back and tell us your thoughts once you have seen it. I'm guessing when the film is released, there will be many articles online focusing on just the clothing worn by the Beatles... well mainly just Ringo and George.
Those are some amazing outfits! George and Ringo were quite bold and wild with their choices. Very cool to look back on and see them in such high quality.
Seeing the original film, this is one thing that will be a lot more obvious. The original is so dark that the clothes look like mush. The restoration really brings them out.

@@MoreMovies4u I LOVE their clothes in this. I MISS when guys dressed with more color, I am a '60s girl (I was 17 in 1964 and MISS the fashions we used to wear then, for guys and us girls. Miss long hair on men.....too many shaved heads these days, oh well. So I was LOVING Ringo's and George's clothes. Men's clothing got boring again. I think John Baptiste (who also is the pianist on the Stephen Colbert late night show,) comes close to dressing more colorful, I LOVE the outfits he wears every night. Not '60s-ish, but nice colors. Not just a blue, black, gray suit with shirt and tie. By the way the little girl snuggling Paul is Heather, Linda's daughter from her first marriage, whom Paul eventually adopted. Linda and Paul married March 12, 1969 and their first child together, Mary , was born August 28, 1969 so Linda was likely in the very early stages of pregnancy with Mary during this documentary. Hard to believe that little girl Heather in the film will be 60 years old this December!
Just heard the release is 27th August 2021............. with COVID still about we still might find that date changes.

Watched the original 'Let it be' film again and it's actually quite good. It's dark and grainy, but I believe the new movie will be basically the same thing but cleaned up. The 50+ hours of footage is misleading because they had 3-4 cameras going at the same time.
Anyways, I think you should watch the original film before seeing the new one.
Here’s the deal, watch the Two of us from the original film, the fact is no matter how they felt about each other personally, when it came down to music they have no equal and whatever animosity between songs, when it came time to play no one did it better. Also having been in a good, not great band one time we left the recorder on and ended up listening to 2 hrs of argument, they were like brothers and under more pressure than any band in history 😎😎😎💪💪❤️❤️

How can anyone say the Beatles didn’t get on after this?
Tag on it… I’ve watched about 10 of these previews and none of you people that watch them but shut up and let them hear what the people are saying. Almost everyone of them skipped over John joking saying” don’t interrupt the stahs” and everybody has to come in on their ugly clothes. Everybody knows they were ugly clothes in the 60s! Why don’t people just be quiet and listen to the whole thing… They keep missing things by talking over it. Very depressing. So many people have waited decades to see something like this, please don’t talk over them!!!!!!

The same vibe as we already noticed on the 50th anniversary White Album and Abbey Road outtakes: they were having a great time in the studio, until the end. why did they break up??
They had spent all of their youth together up to that point. There was undeniably a lot of tension between them and they probably needed a break from oneanother. Room to breathe. If tragedy hadn't struck I think they would've re-grouped eventually and done another tour / album.

Almost certain...The Beatles were miserable being business managers and wanted to strangle each other over them. But once in the studio and behind the instruments, they were where they were comfortable. Having a blast, until they had to discuss money again...

George said that "When Preston got to the studio they tried to hide the problems similar when a guest gets to pur house and all the members of the family give the best face in order to leave a good impression.Preston changed the environment but when he left started to appear the problems again....

I dont understand when i see this pictures that they had broke.
I have always believed the film makers who made the original "Let It Be" film wanted to focus on the negative side in a way tabloids create negative stories to sell their papers. This sneak peak makes be believe that more! I always said there were great times for the Beatles in the studio & you can see in a lot here. I am really looking forward to seeing this new film & I hope it's around four hours long! Thank you Mr. Jackson!!!

I think it's overblown. Watch the film. It's not negative. Its dark and grainy but the content is quite good. Even the Paul and George 'fight' is really nothing.
