I am still trying to master being able to run 5 minutes flat on the treadmill. I really admire runners, it's definitely something I want to be strong at and do it for fun.
@@randyevermore9323 Makes sense, I just remembered watching him out-kick Farah in the 3000, if I had known those times I would’ve included them, too! Man is accomplished

as per usual with these kinds of vids...NO MENTION of what the PRIOR record that was broken...for those who are interested and don't want to look it up....it was 3:34.68 set last year by an athlete from Notre Dame......anyway.....your are welcome and I simply don't understand why its so hard to make reference to the prior record when ANY record is broken...to me, its common sense so the viewers or readers can get a sense of how much the prior record was broken by......so this guy broke the prior record by nearly a full second! Congrats!
If you're a runner and you truly understand what you'll do to cut corners and save time lol. Growing up where I did I broke record's on a daily basis runner breaking seconds to catch the bus. Probably...
Took the time to stop his watch too what a legend
Dude posts everything to Strava
He looked so relaxed its crazy
That's how he always runs.
His name eliud is a great foreshadowing
He almost waited a little too long. Wow that closing speed
Ultimate Strava flex, stops his watch after hawking Will 😎😭
That's me in the red!!! Thank you guys for uploading this!
U mad fast
The fact that Kipsang ran that final kick almost solely in the inside lane...beast.
so controlled and easy, looks like he can easily break this record again.
Such a well won race! What a difference from Nuguse’s ncaa record
Where is Nuguse these days?
@@cber5077 i dont think he turned pro
“don’t let this distract you from the fact that Eliud Kipchoge ran 26.2 miles at 4:36 mile pace” - 🤓🤓🤓
WTF?
Hahahaha
Wasnt it 4:32
The 2 Eliud Kips
What does that have to do with anything?
Kipsang's coach is a legend
Wow... what a finish!
He’s back. Indoors wasn’t his best showing given what he did last year, but good to see him improve significantly.
indoor doesn't matter
I would collapse 100 meters into doing this pace 😂
100 meters is pretty far
I could only go like 400
I could go 1600
This is the fastest track I’ve ever run on. APU’s track is buttery
Congratulations Eliud Kipsang.
If your name is eliud u gotta go crazy
WOW! Looked like he could of done another 109m easily! Like easy sub 3:50 Mile
Dude, no one cares about the mile outside US..
@@luispastor8089 🤡🤡
The mile is iconic

Kipsang form is beautiful
That Paulsen is a great runner

Good luck!
The guy who got last (Jack Salisbury), is that the same dude that got outkicked by Drew Hunter in the high school DMR?
If it is, then that's some pretty good improvement from a ~4:10 mile to his 1500 time here
Wait what kind of late kick was that wow it’s like he game him a 20 meter lead takeout
Nice to see them college times close to what Jim Ryan did back in 1967...
it’s takes me that time to make 2 hot pockets 😂
Amazing!
eliud kipchoge and wilson kipsang had a child?
more or less
but he has fast twitch
@@lerrygindgren2076 I mean you ever seen Kipchoge’s winning 3000’s? Dude has (or had) olympic level speed, too!
@@pluslogic584 And his 1,500 PR is 3:32. His 5,000 PR is 12:46.

When they say "NCAA" record, is that outright record by any collegiate athlete?
I'm thinking about cole hockers 3:31 from tokyo
didn’t hocker turn full pro before the olympics? if that’s the case then that would be why he doesn’t have the record
@@wakimura303 no that was before he signed. At the time he was still a collegiate athlete. He doesn’t have the record because he was representing team USA at the Olympics and not Oregon
This record is for in-season, not out-of-season.
Bernard Laget has the out-of-season NCAA record at 3:30:56 back in 1999.
Hocker is 3rd with a 3:31.40
Nah this boy fast 💨
was this at azusa? what’s where i ran my first sub 5
realize the guy that finished 2nd is a pro but that was a balls race...
Bro how 😂😂
Runners against tactical 1500s
Severely underrated comment
That was amazing, but 25yo from Kenya running in college??
if your initials are e.k. you're goated.
You should totally let "total running productions" do pieces on these races, with attribution or something, to get the word out better... :)
LeTtTtTtTsSsSs GoOoOoOooOo
Other dude broke prev record too
Wow
Left it late bwana
Either the pacers were given bad directions or they didn't do their job. Way ahead of the lead runners.
Y’all would’ve hated me I woulda angled right and dove there ain’t no dam way fast af
Ahaha stopping his watch was so disrespectful after out kicking him like that and making him look like he was in quicksand. 🤣🤦🏽♀️
It actually was not a kick by Kipsang. Paulson just had nothing left and tanked in the final 100m.
😳😳😳
oof, timed to perfection, and maybe a tad too close
Pretty good. Now consider that the world record is nearly 8 seconds faster.
These guys are also fully enrolled college students. And the WR was set during a time where lots of distance runners were on juice
@@nohands6865 The indoor mile collegiate record is only 3 seconds away from the world record, even though indoor isn’t taken as seriously.
Tbf, the WR was set during the height of the EPO era and was set by a pro. Still love Hicham though!

to be fair they said it during the race
the announcers mentioned it in the video..
3:12 in the video they mentioned it but nice try. You’re an ignorant commenter and by the first impression you’ve given not a very nice person either.
Do you listen to the video with the sound off?

Dear Americans, please stop calling Pacers “Rabbits”.
Nah let’s keep calling them rabbits. There is literally nothing wrong with that
Why?
But they’re rabbits.
Pacers = no record. Sorry, but pacers/rabbits are bogus.
Whys that?
What are you on about chap?
I agree. The fact that they are hired to do a job and stop before the race is done is pretty lame IMO.
Wow
