I have autism, and I've always been made fun of and underestimated. I studied really hard and tried hard at what I was passionate about. I graduated high school at 15. I'm 16 now and applying to colleges rn for majoring in Electrical Engineering. While autistic people struggle to fit in to this world, including myself, we have extraordinary abilities that many underlook. Treat people with equal oppurtunities.
Update: I got into The university of Texas' electrical & computer engineering program!

I love The Good Doctor because of how well they show what autism can look like especially in stressful situations. It helps bring awareness to autism without degrading those who are on the spectrum. And the actor who plays Shaun does extremely well showing how those with autism may think and act. Just overall this is an amazing show.

Though it does have the issue of making people with autism look like they are super geniuses. Which is kind of a played out stereotypes that big bang theory started. But it is a better portrayal than most

Well, sometimes someone who is autistic (from my experience) needs space to get through things. My son has bad days where he now usually (through social behavior training) will either sleep or go be alone for a while. I don't touch him because I know that sparks something when he's like that.
This show really changed things in me, in a away I never imagined.

I’m so happy that Shawn has glassman and lea and all his colleagues who believe in him and give him so much love and support. They compensate for all the neglect and childhood trauma. Seeing Shawn grow and learn really fills me with so much joy.
Super solid actors and actresses. Super story. I watch both The Good Doctor and The Resident. Both are intriguing.

For lack of better words watching this show is akin to people who do things to hurt themselves. Watching this can hurt. It's a deeply intimate kind of pain that can make someone that thought they were empty and with nothing to live for just cry hysterically. Then, through the tears and fighting the pain watching this show can make you feel stronger.
This is the good kind of pain.
I have a son on the autistic spectrum and I just wish he could express himself verbally a little more,because watching this show I see a lot of my son.I like the way autistic individuals perceive the world,and how they see things in their area of expertise.This series is about a doctor,my son has the same abilities as Dr.Murray,in a different field,which is computers,he'll fix anything.He sees the problem , diagnoses it and fixes it.He self-taught everything he knows.
I have heard that it is possible to teach kids with autism to atleast copy some aspects of communication like eye contact, empathy, non-verbal communication etc. I hope it's feasible for you to get that sort of help for your child ❤️❤️❤️
I hope that people treat him well, his skills are very useful and will be in the future as the world gets more technological. The world is a tough place but i wish it was not. I wish the best for the both of you

@@radhikamathur2553 We did ABA therapy,which helped a lot.Now we have a dog that is helping him with interaction.The problem with autistic people is the level of anxiety,it gets the best out of them.I am sure if we can control this and not let it escalate,his life will be better.I will not give up as long as I am alive,still searching for answers.Thanks for your comment

It is surely,but note that Shaun has Savant Syndrome too,it turns people to superheroes. It is very rare,only one person had that until now(who is famous). Normally autistic people are dumb,there IQ is low,so,you know,many people in the comment section say they are autistic and have high IQ,they are all lying.

I am a non medical student but Still this series motivates me a lot to study
Watching this video reminds me of when I taught cook's to learn the kitchen and how it works and unfortunately different types of Cuisines since they didn't have the money for CULINARY SCHOOL. I am happy that they are CHEFS now. All of them are married and have kids as they can support them and they still live in QUEENS and they can go on vacation and not worry about anything. I trained them and it does not bother me at all. They can hold their own as I will back any of them. I taught them speed and to be accurate in their decisions. Their is a difference between a cook and a CHEF, cook's follow and CHEFS lead.
Story of Shaun is essentially the story of hope, love, trust and persistence - those which ultimately carve the way for an individual towards the summit of success and glory, inspite of a thousand limitations and losses... Absolutely loved it!
Not to long ago i was diagnosed with a minor type of autism and i get bullied for it in school. It makes me mathematically smarter and i love it but not everyone in my life like it

no kidding, have you seen him in the mists of avalon as the young arthur pendragon? he doesnt have a lot of scenes but even at 8-9 years old, he could play with your emotional strings.
Great series, I fell in love with it just by watching the first season, really inspired me to try and get a job at the hospital in my city even if I have autism. I hope a lot of people watch this and understand that people with autism can do amazing things.
Also slightly off topic, great song, sounds like the kind of music from the channel Audiomachine and by any chance can I get the name, I'd really like to listen to it while walking to work, also great editing, I'm gonna make sure to check the rest out.
I liked the part where he solves complicated problems. When they started veering away from that, I started not caring anymore.

The Good Doctor was super good the first 2 season. 3 was still pretty good but after that there was a huge fall off
I love this series very much because i see myself working as intern doctor. I am not an austism but i was born premature. Im lucky to have good in memorizing all words which help me a lot. You know, this type of ability to memorized the words easily was grateful. So i am an intern doctor @ Intensive care unit department.. Helping people who needs a triple care. I do! Thank you

I was doing just fine until the end when his brother said “you’re the smart one, you can do anything” and the scene changed to them putting the scrubs on him...as someone with mental health problems too, this show really inspired me

Hello.I also have autism and this comment section has a lot of people talking about autistic people being really good at something but I don't know what my gift is.I think I would be a good surgeon but that involves communicating which I struggle with.In fact,I shut down.I didn't even think I would be alive by now so what do I do?
My son Is on the spectrum. He works full time . In his off him he is studying computer animation with a minor in silver smithing. But he MOST definitely blikes his ALONE Tim's. He's DOWN time is UNFORTUNATELY MOST of the time
