I remember sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night at around 11 years old, just so I could play the new console my big brother rented (but wouldn't let me play, heh). That startup sound was the coolest thing I'd ever heard at that time. So yeah, a part of it is obviously nostalgia, but it really does have an epic sound to it that I feel the other intros didn't live up to (not that it really matters).

Agree
PS 2 has the best startup sound i feel like i'm in trance when i listen to this.
Combine that epic powerful sound to the incredible CGI intro of GEX and you have some truly next generation stuff!
Our ps1 generation was the loudest
Where are my PS2 bros at?
Hi.
legokerik Hello

Such good times. Glad that I still got my PS1 and PS2, and that I still play it to this day. Two of the best consoles of all time and the only two consoles that I own other than the GameCube that I also have. Pure nostalgia right here and straight up my childhood right here. Such good times.
Can I buy the PS1 please
Hoooly shit man the Ps1 and Ps2 startups brought some Nostalgia 🙁
I bought this legacy theme on ps4 that has a ps2 background start up sound everything it does cost money though
@@LeBaldJames23- where do you get it?
@@dotdotdot1113 its a legacy dashboard theme, it's only like 2$

@@LeBaldJames23- how much is it and were do you get it
0:40 please work work work work 0:52 yeah :v
Makes me wonder if the ps2 is programmed to have an extended black screen to hold a player in suspense a little longer.

mely 9881 Yep
man..The technology leap from ps2-ps3 is unbelievable
From ps1-ps2 was as well, specially the graphics.
Now between ps3-ps4 was almost none...
@@mewtwo.150 And from PS2 to PS3? Oh god it's totally another console
@@cebollajsjsjsk
Yeah, specially for the online, the menu and internal memory. But between PS3-PS4 isn't really a difference. And they saying PS5 is coming... Idk what new could bring.
PS1 - PS2 shocked me the most when i started GTA 3 for the 1st time and had not seen any reviews etc.
Mew Two it didn’t seem like a huge jump between ps3 and ps4 initially but if you look at games nowadays you can see a massive difference
Look at how Red dead 2 looks on the base model PS4 compared to red dead 1 on ps3
There is a big difference in terms of visuals
Rest in peace Tohrh Okada

R.I.P. Tohru Okada, known for creating the PlayStation logo's sound effect often heard in commercials and founding member of the Japanese rock band Moonriders. You shall not be forgotten.
The PS2 was truly, the best thing ever made.

PS4 Is Dead
@@porschefan117 tf you mean ps4 is dead
@@gecko_w1 ps5 is coming out this year
@@porschefan117 yeah but not dead. first of all, a lot of people have ps4s, and ps5 isn't even _released_ yet. how is the ps4 dead? a lot of people still play on the ps4, because they _can't_ even play on the ps5, and the ps5 will be backwards compatible with ps4, which means they still can have a ps4 and get ps4 games for the ps5 and don't have to sell their ps4. (im not saying everyone will keep their ps4, just saying that they CAN keep it.)
tl:dr: it's not dead because ps5 isn't released yet.

@Down 4 That's not the correct order but nice try
Every time new PS was out, during first few startups me and my cousin would come with a theory how much more technologically advanced the new PS is compared to the previous version and how we’re actually being taken into another dimension. The initial graphics of PS2 was like travelling through different dimensions. Great times hahaha
