Hey there. I have been hearing this sound a few months now. It sounds like from driver side, i changed wheel bearing and the sound has persisted anyway. The noise is clearly on driver side tho
Hey! Good question. Did you watch my full length bearing diagnosis video by chance? Most times the wheel bearing noise "drones" through the metal body and frame of the car making location of the sound extremely misleading. So I do the "shake and spin" and then make sure to compare at all 4 wheel sounds. Many times I find a second bearing bad but it's masked and undetectable by the loudest bad bearing. Or sometimes I find a second one that is silent but loose, a phantom bad wheel bearing. Very dangerous. Anyways watch the video. It sounds like you are on the right track and may just have 2 that are bad 😃th-cam.com/video/nl7cU2wHBXg/w-d-xo.html
@@EasyFixShaun thank you so much! I spent 5 days and broke many ratchets and even breaker bars trying to get this job done lol. Now I gotta do it again on the other side but at least I know how to do it now.
@@Phillyboi215 No problem anytime. Wow! Wheel bearings can be ridiculously tough sometimes. Usually it's related to rust in the rust belt. Nice work man! 😃
All bearings' sound, sound pitch, and speed, vary a bit based on bearing characteristics like design, quality, and vehicle configuration and weight. But they are all somewhat similar. It sounds to me very likely you have a wheel bearing bad based on your description. You have an indicator of bad wheel bearing and should fix asap 😃🔧 Full Length Video: th-cam.com/video/nl7cU2wHBXg/w-d-xo.html
Sometimes yes. If you hear any abnormal noise in your car get it tracked down and sorted out immediately. When wheel bearings fail completely from being ignored it can be really catastrophic.
No this one wasn't shaking but was making noise while driving. Wheel bearings that are bad can present as nothing sometimes and be really dangerous. Anytime you hear or feel something wrong with your car it is always best to check it out right away.
It's usually there at all speeds if a bearing goes bad. Usually it's easier to hear at different speeds though depending on wind factors, road condition, tire condition, etc. Here is a full length video. Try the shake and spin test to isolate the wheel bearings and pinpoint the bad one 😃 th-cam.com/video/nl7cU2wHBXg/w-d-xo.html
stethoscope. A chassis ear is best to diagnose though. Chassis ears can easily replicate speed and load while driving and pinpoint the bad bearings. Links for tools in the description 😃🔧
@@EasyFixShaun yes . I looked at a video on utube on it. I dont know if its a good thing to do or replace the ball bearing in the wheel. Just trying to save money.. it has a humming noise..
I feel you there. Probably no good way to save money on a bearing other than bearing quality. I would just replace it. It probably has served its dirty for a while and sometimes they just go bad. It is hard to predict but when it happens swap em out before there is a safety issue. Good luck in your project 😃@@louhawk559

Please don’t add music to a video about sound. We need to hear the car sound. Only the car sound.
Good tip. Sorry about that 😃🔧
Music is good, just a bit lower.
Roger that 😃
no music is better. thanks for the vid
We can hear ot just fine
So I just lay under the car with a screwdriver and have somebody drive 40 mph with me holding on underneath 👍
No. Never.
😂😂😂.
That's no good.
😂
horrible
Not the bad bearing sounding like a Koenigsegg at top speed 😂😂
Oh boy! Ya get that checked out right away 😃

Stethoscopes are awesome.
Great listening tools! I recommend a Chassis Ear for this process though, much safer😃

Why would you add music when people are trying to figure out the noise as well
Sorry about that.
If only I could hear it over the shit music and sled up audio
Sorry about that.
Mine sounds like that without the stethoscope. waiting on parts is so much fun
Oh wow! What kinda parts are you getting?
They couldn't hear it with the speakers blasting🤣

that shield is all eaten by the ginger :D
"Rust" is more PC 😂
@@EasyFixShaun perhaps, but sounds so mundane, plus who cares about the PC?
True 😂
It would be helpful to hear the sound. Make a separate video to promote your band's music

Wow what is the device that you are using it's very helpful
I recommend a chassis ear only 😃🔧Wireless Chassis EAR: amzn.to/3n3EkaQ

Is the sound constant at any speed? I have a similar sound but only between 25 & 37mph then it goes away once I pass 40mph.

Same here it only makes noise when I take off in my car, but once I pass 20mph it goes away. Guessing it's a wheel bearing?
@@mylord5264could be tire cupping
could be, sort it out either way 😃
Hey why did the wheel bearing sound when you put the screwdriver on that bolt??
Hi! The screwdriver had a microphone on it and when it touch parts the sound is amplified so i can be heard easily 😀
Can it make it unbearably loud in a cars cab when a wheel bearing fails?
Sometimes yes. If you hear any abnormal noise in your car get it tracked down and sorted out immediately. When wheel bearings fail completely from being ignored it can be really catastrophic.
Was the steering wheel shaking when going high speeds?
