As a new snowboarder at 59, your videos have been a life saver. Progression has been so much faster with all of your tips. Since I missed the last 40 years of boarding, I’ve got to cram in as much progression as I can! Thanks for helping us newbies get into the sport.
i started at 47!! i got 10 days of snowboarding wich represents 50hrs total, and im able to do what he does in this video , but the flow is a litle bit diferent
I started snowboarding few weeks ago at age 46. About 28 hours of riding so far and thanks to his videos I can do most of the intermediate he mentioned in the video now.
I feel proud to say that I am an intermediate rider 😎 just ordered a new setup to replace the beginner boots/binding/board I got off Amazon a few years ago. I can’t wait to go shred some groomers lol 😅 one day I will be a pro because I love this sport and I’m not going to stop!
I like the fact that after each skill you mentioned the way to master it in case if we don’t have it. Thank you and by the way I learned to ride both heel and toe on the first day by watching your other video, so thanks for that also. Cheers from Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬
I logged many 68 mph runs and still feel like an intermediate rider after 32 years of riding lol I’ve had the pleasure of riding w some incredible talent and they make me feel like a noob on anything above a black.
I can crank it up to 65mph and I'm 100% with you. My friends still leave me in the dust and can shred powder wayyyyy better than me. Been riding 20+ years now. Still pretty bad going switch, my stability and balance isn't the best and the bumpy stuff burns my legs out quickly. I'm 6'4" 220lbs with a size 13 boot. I can "make my way" down most blacks but can't shred them like my friends can
@@jacksonvreal_904one thing that helped me riding switch was going to a small local place solo and rode switch all day. Riding switch is all about practicing it but practicing it causes falls and feels like it’s a wasted day, but it will eventually click just have to put in the time. I neglected that for years! Haha
For real I’m boarding in Bulgaria (only place I’ve ever boarded) and the slopes are way narrower and with a billion skiers as obsticles to avoid. These wide empty slopes look dreamy 🤤
Norquay looks great! Looking to go to Banff Sunshine Village for Spring Break in March. Actually headed to Mont Tremblant this Thursday! I'll definitely be using these tips when I go!
Man these slopes look dope! I always go snowboarding in Bulgaria, slopes are narrower and a billion skiers as obstacles to board around.. at the slopes now, and will definitely go somewhere else next winter 🏂
Thanks for this - I used to be intermediate but I haven't been snowboarding in a few years, so I dont know whether I will still be intermediate when I next go
I'm an intermediate rider as long as the conditions are good. I freak out on hard packed or icy snow and go back to being a beginner. But give me soft powder and I snowboard really well! Any advice for getting better on ice?
A question: i am good at heels but it was difficult for me to make toe press, can it also be about big snowboard boots? I just cant get why i cant press my toes enough to make toe edge? Im obsessed about snowboarding now kinda beginner i can say and your videos are great, i want to make it better 💪🏻💫
You’re not supposed to press with your toes. You use your knees to stack your weight over the toe edge to initiate. Think about where your mass is placed on the board. Toe press has almost no leverage
Exactly, what above said. Make sure you have well fitted boots. Then you need to just trust yourself. Push your weight/pressure into your chin of your boot. Trust yourself. Trust your gear. It was hard for me too.
i was the same then learned toe side in one day. and then making toe side turns the next time. and now linking my turns. the trick is to lean your shin into the front of your boot and the harder you press, the faster you will turn. definitely have to trust the board and it’s scary at first but now i prefer toe side over heel side
Love your videos. Subscribed years ago. When are you coming to Spain? And what are the top 3 resorts in Canada (Snowboarding intermediate/advance + family of skiers).
Im an old and rusty snowboarder that recently got back into it and spend a few days at the snow. I used to ride +18/-6 before and found myself more comfortable with +15/-15 or even +12/-12 nowadays. Can I ask what stance are you riding? Thanks for the great vid!
Yo, I'm jealous of Canadas scenery, but you should come to Michigan and hit Mt. Bohemia if you haven't before! You can rent yurts at the bottom and they have a nordic spa too. But it's a triple black diamond hill and is super fun!
I just started to work up the courage for the steep but between the toe chatter and speed I completely freak out. Trying to work on my confidence to fix it. Any tips?
What if i can do all this but lose all my composure as soon as the slope gets steep and i pick up speed due to a previous fall that resulted in a broken arm? :/
As for me all of it, maybe except steep terrain turn, look like beginner+ skill set. Consider it as a final exam for a beginner course. After passing it you can start learning intermediate level things
Hi! thank for the video. When I am turning heel side, I tend to kick my back foot in so that I come to full stop. How do I fix this? I feel like it has to do with my back knee pointing the opposite direction I am riding towards when I do a heel side turn. Could you give tips on this? Thanks!
You have too much weight on your back foot; at least, that's what it sounds like. Try having 60% of your weight forward and using your front knee/foot to turn, and just follow through with the rear foot. I did that a lot last year, too, and making sure my weight was shifted properly helped a ton. Happy shredding!
lol, and here I thought that slowing down after each turn on the steep "wall of death" part of the slope made me still a beginner 🤣🤣 I clear all items on this list. I'm an intermediate already??? I only started snowboarding 1,5 months ago...
i feel like your missing a big one. i can do everything you discussed in the video but still havent taught myself how to ride switch. once i can do that ill feel like ive really become a great snowboarder
Ugh, when I define intermediate as what the average snowboarder in colorado can do then you need a lot more skills than what's shown in this video to be intermediate. I consider myself certainly much less than intermediate. For becoming an intermediate would need to be able to go much faster than shown in every terrain, you need to be able to carve, go down icy steep slopes, do moguls in a fast and decent way, go through tree glades, do heavy powder with speed, do some small basic jumps and have some moderate fun in the half pipe. That's what most boarders do around here.
I'd say that's closing into the advanced part. Intermediates goal is to have the basics down and to start exploring you're niche. Whether thst be park rat or exploring unmarked trails is an Intermediate rider. I'd say advanced would be having your niche down and then being able to proficiently explore the other niches. This video is explaining Intermediate skills for groomed trails. My opinion is once you pick a niche you go back to beginner status. Also you have to consider everybody when making a video like this not everybody has access to a halfpipe but that doesn't mean they won't smoke you on a groomed trail. You know? Not everybody has access to x games level mountains

Norquay!

My my my! That background is breathtaking!!!
I’m still a beginner but here for these phenomenal views! Very good explanations. Kudos to the cameraman also.

I'll definitely be using these tips when I go!
I was at Norquay on Monday hitting that exact run. Really enjoyed the place.
riding switch a little bit too is another plus
Love your videos❤ Always get so hyped for the snowboard vacay
Awesome! Have a good vacay!

Canadian Rockies are as good as it gets in my opinion. Blows the us Rockies away.
Can't wait for you to come back to Washington to shred🤙
Ive just started and have been riding for only 4-5 days in total. Can't believe it, but according to this I'm already at an intermediate level. Nice!
I think I need to start trusting my board more
Was at norquay today, loved it and love the videos
Saw u in Taos yesterday bro much love 👏🏽
I think i can do all that but I did fall getting of the chair lift and this is my first season so that knocked me down a peg back to beginner
Rockies baby! Take hwy 93 to Marmot.
@SnowboardProCamp could you show some buttering with the clew bindings in a video?
Thanks for this - I used to be intermediate but I haven't been snowboarding in a few years, so I dont know whether I will still be intermediate when I next go
it'll come back fast trust me, as soon as you're back on the board the muscle memory kicks in
Wow I find this helpful thanks

Do you feel that switch riding is more of an advanced skill set ?
should be in the intermediate side I was looking for it
Depends what you ride with the rise of directional boards
If switch is intermediate, then I’m a beginner who rides black diamonds 😅

The title was how to know if you’re an intermediate snowboarder. Not a great one haha
Love From Gulmarg Kashmir india
Please Come here ' i want to have back country snowboarding with you❤
If u can do all these on a rental pos, u r high intermediate 💯 💶
intermediate is riding switch on blacks and hitting rails frontside and 360 out. advanced is maybe back flip or barrel roll.
I Think im in the beggining of being intermediate!!!
Got Snow? Get Shovelwax!
an intermediate snowboarder doesn’t catch an edge anymore
Wow.. not even 10 times on snowboard and as it turns out i'm an intermediate already + doing that on a really steep terrain
And follow this is intermediate then I guess on that advanced I thought I was beginner
Congratulations, if you can do these maneuvers you are beginning to ride a snowboard.
I'll never move beyond intermediate level 😐
