Toe stopping is a really effective way of stopping tbh! Just make sure you bend your knees a lot and push down with your toe stop! If you really want to practice t-stops practice "zombie walking" where you just drag your foot behind you like a zombie. It really helps! Good luck on your skating journey!
I couldn't even stand up on my own on my day 1. I was so nervous, I would stand still and find myself rolling forward. My adrenaline was pumping so much it was propelling me forward, you know like the body shakes from fear. I am 35 y.o and had to have my kid hold one of my hands while I try to skate without a wall near me. It's awesome, that no one is outside to watch you. I'm here in nyc and tons of people stare and say nasty stuff to me, probably cause I'm plus size and make a lot of noise when i'm scared.

Tbh I'm proud of you but the thing is when I watch these type of videos that are like " I just started skating! " they are always quite good at it in the beginning which is good but it makes me feel kinda bad for myself cuz I'm A beginner and when I say beginner I mean I can barely move and I always hold on to things and fall😅
What size protective gear did you get? Also I’m so glad you got the blue gear so I could see what it looks like - I usually see everyone with the pink or rose gold!
Make sure ur feet are at a V shape and not an L shape otherwise you’ll turn and/or loose balance, and don’t use all 4 wheels on the ground when stopping, use your inner edge. Also bend those knees!! Bending the knees is the most important part for balance in skating, not just for stopping. You can’t bend your knees enough haha! This might be helpful for you now that so much time has passed but figured I’d comment to help some other people out if they see it.
I wish I had your smooth roads! I have those same skates in the mimosa color but I think the 82A wheels are too hard for roads, how did they work for you?
I bought my exact size and they fit perfectly! I was iffy too when everyone was telling me to size up or down. I would just just stick to your exact size because I do feel a little bit of wiggle room regardless, but it’s more comfortable that way. 😊
If you have wider feet buying your exact size isn’t too much of an issue, it just might be a little painful while the boot conforms to your foot. I had this issue but after about a week of constant wearing they felt snug and comfortable.

If you come to lose pebbles or loose pavements put 1 foot in front of the other and you should be able to go over it
