Thanks for this video. Looking forward to the open segmented turning class. I couldn’t help but notice that during assembly of the jig the screw driver used was the one you made in the spindle class. Nice touch.
I built mine (based on Earl's instructions) several years ago ... mine has a level embedded into the table and a scale (both imperial and metric) on the aluminum angle. For the 'stop', I use a brass stair stringer gauge, available at most home centers ... a pack of 2 costs about $6..
Jim, this is an excellent video. However you failed to include the links to Earls Small Shop and the Chefware Kits in the description section. Yes I know you posted them in the video but I cannot link directly from that. Copying the information to paper and entering the info by hand is a real pain. Please post the links in the comments ore description so that I can link direct.
When the edge of the next ring piece is aligned parallel with the edge of the completed ring the outer edge (the new ring's radius) will be in correct position. Move the stop to that location for adding additional segments. This method works when the outside dimemtions are correctly set to the drawing and any additional material wanted (needed) is added to the INTERIOR of this ring. See the video at 14:45.

Appreciate your sharing the information.
Thanks for everything you share Jim .
Thanks for watching!
Thank You!
You're welcome!
Very simple design and easy to make. Do you have a video on how to setup and use the indexing wheel?

I would love to see a picture of what you built
I’ve been using the Chefware setup for 3 years. The picture of a bowl being glued on their website is the first I did using this setup.
This new fixture is not as well know as it should be! Thanks for your work with Chefware Kits

Good point. I have added the locations in the description area. Thanks for the heads up. JLR
I thank you Sir. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

What was that about lining up the next ring without measuring? He just put the piece up but did not explain what he was doing and why?
