we need more storys of duncen like this he may be a pain sometimes but he still has a good side and can help others in need duncen can be grumby at times but I would like to see more storys where he does good like this one
The music choice, the extra scenes added, the ommission of certain lines of narration, the final shot of Rheneas leaving with duncan just out of frame as the final line is read. Absolutely masterful. An amazing adaption!
You and victor tanzig are the only two to properly give Duncan a story arc that doesn’t point him out to be horrid but instead a character with a backstory
@TheSouthernTerrierA1X0- I'd like to think the reason why he didn't like Rusty at first was because some of his friends at the factory got replaced by diesel engines
never in my time of watching adaptions have i seen such great work the music choice timing angles the extra lines ened to make it feel so much more reall and the heart wrenching end to the video and just how the railways unsung hero was said int he last short was so perfect. i'd argue it was the best adaption i have seen not a single person has made me so involed into an episode nor on the edge of my seat like this has.
0:44 Duncan: Right, Fievel, and Wakko. 4:05 - Duncan: Come on Fievel. I want to go. Wakko: Take your time, Duncan. Don’t get into a rush. 5:40 Duncan: Hey, Fievel, Wakko, be careful. 6:14 Duncan: I have to stop, Fievel. I need to stop, Wakko. 6:22 Duncan’s Driver: Well, you two are safe with him. 7:21 7:30 Duncan: Well, Fievel, you and Wakko think it’s best to sand rails. 8:15 - Fievel: You know Duncan. You and Wakko had saved an accident.
2:40 got a laugh out of me, that would be something duncan would say, nice touch. also phenomenal soundtrack and camera work in this. keep up the great work.
Do I hear Murder Drones soundtrack? Where did you get Unhelpful Git's figures of Mr. Hugh and the guard from? Gotta love writing bad@$$ things about Duncan though. 😎
wow just wow, not all poeple are ignorant like you just said. plus i can tell ya some of them def clearly knew what happened, if the brakeman could tell, so can the passangers
just nitpicking but duncan doesnt neccesarily have a hand brake he has airbrakes as noted by the compressor next to his smokebox (as far as i know he could have a handbrake too but for passenger service you would use the air if you can
Actually, throughout most of this addaptation he hasn't a brake pump, since he'd been working in an industrial setting (most likely a factory where speeds are really low) so he couldn't rely on the guard to put alternative brakes for him
note from the writer; the SR engines dont have air brakes, when writing this it was set during the period when they would use the handbrake and train brakes. WNWs model has an air pump for reasons beyond my understanding
Maybe why Duncan is such a prick is because of the harsh treatment for working with the RAF some of his class would be used for work around the army like any other engine
I'm here before it gets made for kids
Im already a kid

Awesome story! I actually respect Duncan's decision to reject the idea that he was a hero. Shows he has humility behind his hardened, gruff exterior.

Not gonna lie i didnt except to hear genshin music when Duncan was pulling both trains.
I think there should be a part two of this.
