I’ve had 3 pairs. First set on a Frontier, then an F150, now a Tacoma. Great tires. They last. Good grip off road. Good in the winter. Decent price point but that seems to be going up just like everything else in the world!
I thought I would comment here because this is a relatively new comment, I have read recently that they change the tread compound on the newer models of the wild peak, so have you gotten the same type of performance out of your latest set as you did your first set? I paid $1079 mounted and balanced for my 275/60/r20's and I am thoroughly impressed. I got about 2500 miles on them (I drive a lot...) and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set.
Yeah there’s a bit of trade off with the more aggressive style being slightly louder than the typical AT tire. I think the Wildpeaks are a good middle ground between AT and MT.
@@KnightWheelsMedia I wanted them, but I seen that they recently are going to discontinued them since they’re coming out with a new version. Not really any reviews on the new version yet obviously so I decided to go with the general grabber is there tried and true for me anyway have them installed next week
leveled my '14 2wd F150 and put 305/65/18's on the stock FX2 18" rim. First set I took them off at 67k miles, and resold them with 9/32" still. Then bought another set. Bad A** off road performance. I aired down to about 16psi ish and they handled Rocks & sand to the point where I followed my buddy in his XJ down a jeep trail and never needed a yank. Another new Rubicon with BFG's was getting stuck in the sand and I just floated through. THESE NEVER LEFT ME STUCK! Quiet on the road and great in the rain unless trying to steer with your right foot ;)
When I Bought tires it came down to Price $30 difference Ko2 and Wildpeak I chose the Wildpeak and didn’t regret it at all! Great off road Performance and great ride On the road !
I have 33x12.50R15 Wildpeak AT3W's on my 1992 GMC Yukon (w/ 3" body lift) for a little over 2 years now. I've been very pleased with them. Today, when I stopped to get the mail, some guy was there getting his mail also. He saw me pull up, and as I got to the mailbox, he struck up a conversation about my tires. He asked, "How are they on ice and snow?" (it had started sleeting/freezing rain and the streets/roads were turning to sh*t). I told him, "Great!" Which they really are. I've had no real traction/control issues with these tires. Lock it in 4 Hi, and GO, but drive sensibly! I live in southern Minnesota.
Great review. I have the same tires with 36,000 miles on them. Almost all of the miles on them are Interstate driving just got them rotated yesterday. They told me I have 8/32 left on them and they said that when you Buy them they come with 13/32 on them when they are new. All are Wearing evenly and I’m not even at the halfway point yet on tread life yet. They have been a good set of tires. Haven’t Slid in the rain or slid in the snow and dry traction has been good to. Start to buy the Goodyear dura tracks The only reason I didn’t get them the supplier didn’t get them in time to them there mistake made me a believer in these tires. I was going to have to take off another day off work to get the dura tracks so I bought what they had in stock. From what I hear the dura tracks are Louder tire at highway speeds and these tires are petty quiet even at 80 miles an hour. I have a ram 1500 with a hemi so I don’t hear these tires at all. I been happy with the tires I bought and when I need a new set of tires I’m going to buy the same ones they have been a great set of tires.
Great tires I ran 2 sets of falken wildpeaks on my truck they lasted me almost 4 yrs each they're awesome just finally decided to change the look on my truck and went with the nitto ridge grapplers
came across your video , looking for some reviews on AT3's. Ironically, I have a set of Coopers, and decided to change to the AT3's since I am going on a road trip soon, I wanted the 275's but with the current outlook on the price of gas, I decided to sacrifice a smaller size to 265 70 17 and not 275 70 17. I ended getting a sprint Booster and overall happy with the way it works. Appreciate the reviews.
My tacoma is stock with stock good year kevlars. They have been good. I live on the wet side of Washington. They do great in snow and rain. Im going to the wild peaks. Most off roading is just dirt gravel logging roads.
It's a good thing you didn't end up with the Terra grappler g2s. When I bought my Tacoma, those came on mine and I hated them. After 20,000 miles, they were crap. I lost traction on wet roads all the time. Just giving the truck a little gas starting off from a stop, lost traction. Going around curves, it would fishtail. I finally got to where I could get new ones and I went with the Falken wildpeak at3w after a ton of reviews. When they took the g2s off, they said they were dry rotting and hard and they were always driven on and only 4 years old. I'll never buy Nitto tires. The wildpeaks haven't disappointed me. I'm running 265/65/17s
I have Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 4Runner and they are terrifying in the rain, hydroplane constantly, switching out to Wildpeaks right now. Only 24,000 Miles on the Terra Grapplers and 4 years old.
@@Meowhsss my Falkens have been amazing on wet roads, snow and light to mid mud. Everything I have thrown at them, they haven't let me down and I only have a 2wd tacoma. Imagine if it was 4wd. Nitto will never be on any of my vehicles
Thank you for this review. I have a 2017 F-250 with the 6.7 powerstroke turbo diesel and I am considering getting these tires since my buddy who also has a diesel said the K02s don’t wear very well. Wondering how these will do with how heavy this truck is. I had a tundra before and ran Toyos. This truck rides high so I think I can go bigger than the stock 275/70R18. I don’t even have a leveling kit on it but I think I can go 285s without rubbing.
Yeah a lot of people have also been saying the KO2s are hard to get right now due to supply chain issues. I'd definitely recommend these tires to anyone!
I’ve had these for 2 yrs about 20,000 mile as well. Wore down from 13.6/32nds to 9. Loved them up until last week when I noticed all 4 tires were developing cracking along the tread lines. One shop said this is a manufacturers defect and said to go to a shop that sells them to initiate warranty. Currently going through this process. I have records proving rotation, and alignment. I’m religious with keeping psi right. Not sure what the outcome will be but be aware and look out for cracking.
@@KnightWheelsMedia doubtful, I’ve lived in the same climate all my life. Never had an issue like this before. Up in Canada so we see all four seasons.
@@jelv.4142 long story, short…never buy tires online. Even if you save a few bucks. The online retailer won’t help you one bit in a warranty scenario. Local shops (understandably) won’t help either as you didn’t buy from them. Thankfully, Falken stepped up and warrantied me directly after I sent them service records, images, and had a shop measure tread depth with a report that didn’t cost much. They also needed proof of disposal by the shop I got the new tires from to make sure I didn’t resell the old ones. I’m on a new set and was reimbursed by Falken on a pro rated warranty. Tires are great. I’m hoping it was just an odd defect in that batch.
@@KnightWheelsMedia can’t complain. Like you, looks of the tire was a big factor. I liked the white letters out on my white Tacoma so I chose the grabbers haha.
Nice call on the 275 70 17 choice. You had to go with tge LT C rated setup on that size too fight? I am preparing to mount the same size on a frontier with a 2 inch lift. If my math is right... maybe not even heat mods unless i opt for for some 1 inch spaces to bring the offset down to 6 vs 30.
Going on to my second pair. And I love these tires. I go to the snow, trails and daily driving and they’ve been great in everything. The one thing I will say is that when tread is low they are a little loud.
Looking at getting these. I have a 2020 Tacoma off road and the stock tires are dogshit in the snow. The Goodyears are coming off before next winter, likely going with these. Great review.
@@kimcapone4791 Just availability honestly. I'm not sure they have this size with P rated tires. But I went with C load since they're a little lighter than if I went E load.
I just ordered my first set of wildpeaks earlier this afternoon I'm super stoked to see them arrive hopefully on Monday. I am a little scared though about whether I should expect some rubbing and how well these tires perform on the highway since I drive to Florida 2 or 3 times a year ?
Best tires I've ever owned for rain/mud and daily driving. They were very quiet until around 30k and even still weren't bad. As far as rubbing, that depends on your tire size, wheel offset, etc.
I love mine i have the 35s and there awesome. Very quite too. I hear now that some people saying one side sticks out more then the other side one side is supposed to be more aggressive I'll have to check that out later.
Knight, thanks for the video. Funny thing you mentioned the Nittos. I actually have a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 on my Taco, 285/75/16. I tried them out for the first time yesterday at Citrus and my taco did great out there!
@@KnightWheelsMedia I have Nitto Terra Grapplers on my 4Runner and they are terrifying in the rain, hydroplane constantly, switching out to Wildpeaks right now
Yes I'm lifted 2" Check out Tacomaworld there are a lot of resources for that question. It also depends on wheel size/offset. Typically with stock wheels, you can fit 265s without issue and maybe 275s
Both great tires. Maybe just go with what's available or maybe which you think looks better. I'm obviously a little biased towards the look of the Wildpeaks haha
Thinking abt these 275s for my runner as well. +4 offset pro rims w/ 2" lift. Would be perfect without any trimming and chopping. Do you feel the difference of the weights since these are 58lbs a piece? Thanks
I have the Wildpeak’s on my GMC Yukon 265/70/17 at 30,000 miles they are cupping on the inside of each tire and are getting loud with a groan sound. Most of my use is on highway. I will be replacing them with Michelin Defender LTX MS2 265/70R17 116T tires
Trying to make sure I get the correct tires from the shop just curious if these are the 116T or the 123's AT3W???? Also how much of a decrease did you notice on the mpg? Big difference???
Sorry I'm not sure what you're referring to with 116T or 123. Mine are the C load 275/70R17 AT3W MPG increase was significant due to the tire size and increased weight of the wheels I put on.
Looking at these in 285/70/17 for the 4Runner. The ONLY hesitation I have is the weight - compared to other AT's in that size, they are HEAVY (the C-load tire comes in at like 64 lbs, and the E-load is 59?). If I'm going that heavy, I may as well consider MTs.
Replaced the GARBAGE KO2 tires on my raptor with these. Amazing!!! Sand.. mud… ice… snow… best tires I have ever owned. Put them on my wife’s Jeep GC TrailHawk and mother in laws Kia Sportage. They are the bees knees.
Put a set of 225/55/17 on my outback. Really liked the looks of them. After 2 years they have developed a lot of road noise, to the point, I’m thinking about getting something else
I didn't notice any increase in road noise until around 30k. Probably a consequence of the aggressive tread pattern. I think going with a less aggressive tire would help with road noise, but would hurt traction.
Man I want this EXACT tire but the 275s from Falken are heavy! 57 lbs. Any they're only C rated! Heavier than every E Rated 275. If I'm going from a stock Goodyear Wrangler at about 35 lbs. that adds over 80 lbs. to my total weight. Have you noticed a big decrease in your MPG??
The tire selection for 275 is not that big and from the research I have done so far Toyo AT3 Load Range E weight 51lbs. I was going to get the Falken'sbut they just weight too much especially for a Load Range C. I bought my taco with P265/70/17 with American Racing wheels for a total weight of 73lbs. I figure I go with LT275/70/17 Toyos (weight 51lbs) + Black Rhino Rapid Wheels (weight=23lbs) = 74lbs. Mathematically I shouldn't feel too much of a difference in the MPGs right other than a stiff ride?? Any opinions/recommendations are much appreciated. @knightwheels love the channel , content and the rig
I have those exact wheels on my 4Runner. Did you have any problems with balancing? I getting steering wheel shimmy around 60mph. I’ve had them balanced 4 times, and someone said it was the wheels because they are lug centric, not hub centric. The shop I bought the wheels from said they didn’t have problems mounting them on 4runners or Tacoma’s. The tire I am running now is the general grabber atx, but I’m thinking about trying these since the grabbers aren’t balancing
I’m wondering if the new ones are just as good as the old ones because I read that the new ones have a different thread compound the sacrifices their performance. so anyone who has bought them in like maybe the last 18 months or so are they just as good? also for those worried about how much they weigh, yeah it’s definitely an issue, here’s something you can do to the gate that way, take off your muffler and replace it with a straight pipe and or a glass pack muffler that will reduce your weight by about 25 pounds.
Ive always ran toyo's at's and have had really good performance from them in all weather. I was thinking of trying the falken, but heard in other reviews that falken changed their compound and that they arent as good as the previous tires
@@KnightWheelsMedia Is it possible that you reviews have been muddled between the AT3W and the AT3WA? AT3WA is definitely not as well rated as the AT3W from the reviews I've read and watched
I have the Yokohama geolander at on my rd1 the tires are great except for one thing side walls are too soft with my lifted suspension. The wild Peak AT3 will be my next set of tires.
I’m looking for a tire that offers a good 60/40 split i.e. 60% on road/40% off road. I’ve seen how some ATs are more aggressive than others and more suited to the latter. I live in Colorado and am looking for (moderate) weekend trail driving. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I’m driving a 2020 Subaru Outback Onyx if it helps. Cheers.
Up to this point (20,000 miles) there were no notable issues with ride quality or road noise. Road noise did start to increase around the 25-30k range though.
My 2012 TRD sport came with 265's ko2's and I loved the look of them when I saw them on my truck, however, driving in rain sux. I've been watching videos about this tire and love the look of em even more than the ko2's and love the fact that it handles better on wet roads, also I wish these came in 275/70 /16 because I'm looking at getting some black wheels in 16's, so I might just need to get the wheels in 17's, unless you know of a tire that resemble these Falkens in 275/70 /16🤔🤔
Good video. I am sad to hear that these rub at 275/70 on the Tacoma. I was thinking of a similar setup on my 4Runner. I will have to research it some more.
Keep in mind it will depend on the offset of your wheels. If you're using the stock Toyota wheels with a positive offset, the 275s may not rub. Also, I believe the 4Runner may have a little bit more room in the wheel well... just don't quote me on that lol
This is going to sound crazy but I got the falkens installed back in 2016 And I’m Still riding them and they have over half of the tread life left - road noise is pretty noticeable now but honestly the investment was unreal and the performance has really given me peace of mind, finally going to get another set though the road noise is almost swamper level Although might see what happens on a rotationlol
That's awesome. They do last a while! I had around 30k on them when I sold the truck and they were just starting to get a little louder, but the treads looked almost new.
The Wildpeak AT3W is better then the Nitto g2. Micket Thompson Baja boss at are awesome too. I run p265/75r16 SL on my taco. 32” is perfect size. 33” rubs.
Interesting on what vehicle(s)? My truck pulls right but I just attribute it to being out of alignment from off roading and stuff.. wonder if it's the tires lol

Surprised to hear that. Mine had over 30k on them when I sold the truck and still had about half of the tread left. Maybe you had a different load range or something? Btw, I've heard nothing but bad things about K02s so I would recommend looking into them more before buying. Some comments on this video talk about it I think.
I will say this. I liked the Falken Wildpeaks. But, no way dod i ever get 20,000 miles. At least not here in Central New York. Great tire but milage is very questionable.

Love to hear it 🔥
When I Bought tires it came down to Price $30 difference Ko2 and Wildpeak I chose the Wildpeak and didn’t regret it at all! Great off road Performance and great ride On the road !
Nice, glad they're working for ya!
Good to hear. No snow experience but they were great in the FL rain!
Good to hear!! Thanks for watching/commenting 🤙🏼

any updates ? after a year
Great tires I ran 2 sets of falken wildpeaks on my truck they lasted me almost 4 yrs each they're awesome just finally decided to change the look on my truck and went with the nitto ridge grapplers
How have the ridge grapplers been so far?
Curious if the extra price of the nitro is worth it. I love my wildpeaks but I’m nearing 50k miles
You ran them? What's that cool internet slang?
@@KnightWheelsMediadon’t get them they sucks in rain and snow, I live in snow state those tires get stuck in snow
came across your video , looking for some reviews on AT3's.
Nice! The truck will be plenty capable with the 265s on it, great choice.
My tacoma is stock with stock good year kevlars. They have been good. I live on the wet side of Washington. They do great in snow and rain. Im going to the wild peaks. Most off roading is just dirt gravel logging roads.
Nice!! They're great tires.
Wow that's wild. Hopefully the Falkens fare better for you!
Dude I had the same thing happen with my nittos. Hoping the wild peaks last longer and don’t loose grip as easy in rain.

Interesting. Maybe weather related?
What happened? What did they say?
It was these falkens or general grabber ATXs for me. Went with the grabbers. Might give these a try next time if I swap. Nice video 👍
Nice how do you like the Grabbers?
@@KnightWheelsMedia can’t complain. Like you, looks of the tire was a big factor. I liked the white letters out on my white Tacoma so I chose the grabbers haha.
Nice call on the 275 70 17 choice. You had to go with tge LT C rated setup on that size too fight? I am preparing to mount the same size on a frontier with a 2 inch lift. If my math is right... maybe not even heat mods unless i opt for for some 1 inch spaces to bring the offset down to 6 vs 30.
I believe so, yes
How do like those icons? I’m think about getting the bronze. Is that what you have. I have the magnetic gray too and I think it matches really good.
Yes the bronze. They’re great 👍🏼
Going on to my second pair. And I love these tires. I go to the snow, trails and daily driving and they’ve been great in everything. The one thing I will say is that when tread is low they are a little loud.
Agree. Mine did start to get louder around 30k or so
Did your second set do as well in the snow was the first ones?

Great question!! Not sure how I forgot to mention that haha these are the LT rated tires

Haven't decided yet! I'd love to try something else but it's also hard to want to do that when these have been so good to me haha
Looks good man!!
Thanks boss!
Might be the case but I never noticed honestly
@KnightWheels I looked yesterday and yes for sure one side has the letters raised out much more. I had no idea.
Which do you think is great in over all.. Falken Wildpeak AT3W or Michelin CrossClimate2? for SUV.. Fair amount of snow. East Coasr
I have not heard anything about the Michelin's so can't really say unfortunately
Knight, thanks for the video. Funny thing you mentioned the Nittos. I actually have a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 on my Taco, 285/75/16. I tried them out for the first time yesterday at Citrus and my taco did great out there!

Is your Tacoma lifted? I'm interested in these tires but not sure what's the largest I can do on stock suspension without the lift?
Yes I'm lifted 2"
Check out Tacomaworld there are a lot of resources for that question. It also depends on wheel size/offset. Typically with stock wheels, you can fit 265s without issue and maybe 275s

I can't decide between these or the Ridge Grapplers?
Both great tires. Maybe just go with what's available or maybe which you think looks better. I'm obviously a little biased towards the look of the Wildpeaks haha
Thinking abt these 275s for my runner as well. +4 offset pro rims w/ 2" lift. Would be perfect without any trimming and chopping. Do you feel the difference of the weights since these are 58lbs a piece? Thanks
felt it at the gas pump that's for sure haha
I have the Wildpeak’s on my GMC Yukon 265/70/17 at 30,000 miles they are cupping on the inside of each tire and are getting loud with a groan sound. Most of my use is on highway. I will be replacing them with Michelin Defender LTX MS2 265/70R17 116T tires
Sounds about right - hopefully the Michelin works better for you!
Trying to make sure I get the correct tires from the shop just curious if these are the 116T or the 123's AT3W???? Also how much of a decrease did you notice on the mpg? Big difference???
Sorry I'm not sure what you're referring to with 116T or 123. Mine are the C load 275/70R17 AT3W
MPG increase was significant due to the tire size and increased weight of the wheels I put on.
I am about to put these tires on my mini van (2018 Chrysler Pacifica) to handle the harsh Alaska winters. 245/50R20. Hope they don't rub. 😁
Good luck!!
@@KnightWheelsMedia got them mounted and balanced today. So far rides great. Fits perfectly. I'm sure it would be better if my vehicle was AWD.
Quick question!!!!
Is good on pavement? Is quite?
Good on pavement & pretty quiet though it's louder than stock. They will get louder over time as well.
True. Honestly I would almost consider these to be like a hybrid AT/MT because of how chunky & heavy they are.
One reason they are so heavy is because of how deep the tread is compared to their competition.
So what did you go with??
Bf goodrich 116Q is 50lb the wildpeak is 65lb in the 285/70 17
I just got them for my 4runner, but in the 275/70r17 size, load range C. Weighs like 57lbs
What tire pressure do you run and how did you determine it would be the best?
I was around 40PSI if I remember correctly. Look up the chalk test, that's one way to check.
Replaced the GARBAGE KO2 tires on my raptor with these. Amazing!!! Sand.. mud… ice… snow… best tires I have ever owned. Put them on my wife’s Jeep GC TrailHawk and mother in laws Kia Sportage. They are the bees knees.
I've heard to stay away from K02s. Great choice with the Falkens 👍🏼
All tires do that when they wear down

Man I want this EXACT tire but the 275s from Falken are heavy! 57 lbs. Any they're only C rated! Heavier than every E Rated 275. If I'm going from a stock Goodyear Wrangler at about 35 lbs. that adds over 80 lbs. to my total weight. Have you noticed a big decrease in your MPG??
Definitely haha they take a toll on MPGs big time. But they're solid tires. They seem to hold up really well.
Yours tires is C1 load or SL load?? And how many ply??
Honestly can't remember anymore, but I believe I had the heavier tires.
How many ply do you get for your Tacoma?
Unfortunately don't remember at this point, I believe they were the SL load though
Haven't had any issues with balancing but I also don't care enough if they're slightly out of balance haha
@@KnightWheelsMedia lol! Fair enough! I’m 99% sure I’m gonna switch to falkens, just to see haha
My Trd pro 4 runner has steering wheel vibration at 60. Will not go away per Toyota.
Do you have a lift kit running the 275 70 17 tire?
Yes I'm on the Eibach Pro Truck Lift (link in description) which gave me around 2" lift
I’m wondering if the new ones are just as good as the old ones because I read that the new ones have a different thread compound the sacrifices their performance. so anyone who has bought them in like maybe the last 18 months or so are they just as good? also for those worried about how much they weigh, yeah it’s definitely an issue, here’s something you can do to the gate that way, take off your muffler and replace it with a straight pipe and or a glass pack muffler that will reduce your weight by about 25 pounds.
haven't really heard any complaints lately
How’s the noise on road?
Overall good. They started to get loud around 30k or so but nothing crazy
Ive always ran toyo's at's and have had really good performance from them in all weather. I was thinking of trying the falken, but heard in other reviews that falken changed their compound and that they arent as good as the previous tires
Yeah I've heard mixed reviews about that, not quite sure about it but definitely possible given all the manufacturing craziness post-2020.
@@KnightWheelsMedia Is it possible that you reviews have been muddled between the AT3W and the AT3WA? AT3WA is definitely not as well rated as the AT3W from the reviews I've read and watched

100% no complaints. If you need to find a flaw, they're on the heavier side so MPG will suffer a bit.

This is going to sound crazy but I got the falkens installed back in 2016
And I’m
