- INTERESTED IN LESSONS WITH CHRIS LET ME KNOW. 15 bucks per lesson, 1 lesson per week, monthly increments. Must have webcam and skype (free) downloaded.
Cant believe this hasn't been posted yet. Well here you go. Chris Storey and Luke Jaeger, who is from Sleep Terror, in this lesson from Guitar World showing you how to play various parts from When Life Meant More,Eradication and No Business. Also shows you his tuning and various other solo parts. Great lesson. Enjoy - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Chris is the world's most underrated metal guitarist. His riffs with ASP were deceptively complex but also extremely rhythmic and musical. I also really appreciated how ASP never quantized any of the guitars on their first three albums.
12ealDeal
Though I agree with you.
Some of Francesco's riffs on TIWIE is some of the best I've ever heard. Also his solos were sick as fuck
Francesco took time to grow on my ears along with the rest of that album compared to what we were used to hearing
Dude this is fucking amazing MAN🖤🖤🖤🔫❤️
@@Duey182 3 years later I can still go back to the Storey albums, but I think the Francesco stuff aged badly. Too clean, too polished. The man's an awesome player though and a cool dude in general.
@@12ealDealOfficial totally agreed. I'm sure you saw the recent news of Chris, Ben and caysen demoing new ASP which brought you here
that solo in "never... again" just sounds like youre collecting coins in super mario really fast.
Anyone back in 2021?! This shit is timeless!
the first verse slow sounds soo sick, and the eradication solo is crazyyyy
I miss chris storey
Finally back
@@alkloot471 Seriously?? Doing what? I've missed his creativity.
@Voldrani the band is back together with Chris 😊
"Uhh, well its just basically...well y'know bdlllbweebeedlbdldo. Then just doodlbweeblleedldo." These guys are INSANE :)
I had the opportunity to listen ASP a little time ago but for me is one of the best band and Chris Storey is a fucking good guitarist. Congratulation!
idk about anybody else but when i watched this guy play guitar i got inpired and wrote a ton of new riffs and licks. what a great metal guitarist. 7 and 8 string guitars! hell yea
One of the Rusty Cooley Student - Chris Storey !!
One of the best guitarist -Chris !!
thats awesome.i first heard sleep terror when i was around 17.and his work with World Under Blood is amazing.
i fucking love the way Chris sweeps on guitar sound soooo sick
The tone is hilarious 😂 Chris is a legend regardless.
Priceless
the sweeping section soundsawesome
Cool tuning
The most underrated guitarist.
of all the newer shredders out there, Chris is my fav by far
damn i was waiting for this so damn long
Chris has gotten way better I hope one of his new bands get signed soon.
I think Chris Storey should join Born Of Osiris...
1st verse slow , wow. love it
It`s awsome!!!!
This man is a living legend! Check out his old youtube page for free master lessons, one of his first few vids which are very shit in quality lol, is a legato he was playing 4notes per string, all whole steps on the higher frets, they were tje fastest cleanest sweeps, i can get it down at 1/3rd of the speed, picked it up 3 days ago, he was right about it being tense but damn it warms you up quick and strengthens the smaller muscles and tendons with better response. Practise yuh know.
His smashface work is where shit gets REAL compared to his work with all shall perish. Im serious😂. In the awaken the dreamers solo you see that but 7fold in smashface songs.
1:39 -Nintendo mode
Haha, I thought the same thing.
Solo eradication is so unreal
That mantic sweeping though
Good ol days
DUUUUUUUUUUUDE FINALLY THANKSSSSSSSSSSS
man thx!! this is really needl video)
Wished he would give a more detailed run down of "no business" Just realised I've worked it out differently!
Personally, I use 56-10gauge strings on my EBMM JP12-7, which is a standard scale length. If I were to tune to Drop B, I would use 54-9, but I suppose you could use 10s or 11s if you really wanted to (not recommended for any baritone). Hope this helps.
"and then i .... titltututltittitiltut ... and then just ... titititlttiltltiii.. and .. then hmnm , then , tililitittiti"
@DjentFoxProductions Heavy top skinny bottoms will do great, my personal preference. Do you have a baritone guitar?
I LOVE YOU!!!!
@10speed it does...
15 bucks per lesson :O ? that's like £11 ... that's insane for someone of chris' capabilities and knowledge.
6Hellbilly6Deluxe6
Cheap because I took lessons for beginner rhythm for 200 bucks for two hours a week.
Chris Storey is better than any guitar teachers out there.
Dao Yang That's terrible. They ripped you off tremendously. Most teachers charge at most $30 an hour.
what string gauge would be appropriate for this tuning?
or i can just play it on a 6 in drop b and be fine
Crazy Sweep Picking at Eradication Oo
Is Chris Storey still doing lessons
@Dark4331 Nope, its a Dean RC7
No wonder he reminds me of rusty!!
@MorganRNReid yeah. i already found out, that rusty was chris' guitar teacher, maybe he promoted it for him. and i was just wondering because i have NEVER seen a famous player usin the guitar of another player. Except for tributes
@jdmimport13 Im going to buy me a 7 string next year, really wanna have the schecter C-7 blackjack. what kind of 7 string do u have?
Wish I Had This Issue...
anyone know what kind of distortion that Chris use?sounds killer
@DruidxSephiroth shecter damian 7string and a shecter damian 6string baritone
That' all crazy! xD
Rusty cooley's signature RC7.
@jdmimport13 yeah, I wanna learn the eradication solo though. they're not standard shapes either.
Sleep terror kills it!! So does ASP. And so do I. To bad you don't. I play a 26 string PRS. In drop Z tuning. No A is not the lowest.
omg that sweep section is unplayable for 99.9% of all other guitar players.. kinda :D
what strings is he using?
what brand name guitars does Chris use?
What pedals are being used?
@barneycockburn actually its not i use it on my 7 string alot its way nicer then standerd its just a step higher its actually standerd for an 8 string so it works out nice
@DjentFoxProductions What is it?
damn quatruple eargasm, when eradiction solo began... he's a fucking god
GODS!!!
Who is the one doing the project with Howard Jones and Joey Jordinson?
So you said I could take lessons i know this a video four years old but if that is still going on please tell how to go about this
chris has the best left hand known to man
@GrunesMannchen i think rusty was his teacher for some time
I feel it's an awesome album and up there with Awaken the Dreamers. Personally I think the Price of Existence is their weakest. It's awesome, but I feel the song writing on the other ones are much better. Awaken The Dreamers is an incredible album though. Stabbing To Purge Dissimulation will always be my favourite metal song.
wow. rusty cooley sig
What is the technique used at 9:10?? (I didnt understand what he said haha)
@barneycockburn hahaha ya iv been playing for about 10 years and when i changed from a 6 to a 7 for like 6 months it was strange i mean i think the transistion wouldnt be much at all just practice i mean the feel would definitly feel strange but dude we have been playing so long it would be pretty self explantiory i say go for it bro i mean shit u got nothing to lose you would only gain better experience :-)
I want to take a lesson from him I have a question
is this april 09 guitar world magazine rigth?
Where is Chris now
lol chris "fuck" 8:29 xD Thanks for postingg!
@DruidxSephiroth fretless nonetheless.
@jdmimport13 the long run is near an end i think lol
@TheWaffleization He stopped smoking a while ago man. Well smoking weed. Probably before but idk when he stopped.
what is chris up to now? did he leave all shall perish?
thost two string sweeps are fucking insane...
@potbelly8 i already know that..
@DruidxSephiroth i have 30 inch scale
@bANDynamiTe, where i come from, you call it a gypsy minor, so, calling it "hungarian minor" might not be that accurate, though its the common name :D anyways, its the same as a harmonic minor, except having an augmented 4th instead of a normal 4th, means, when playing on a loose scale you have 0-2-3-6-7-8-11-12
Lol the best part is when it went from the Eradication solo to the tapping part. As if that part is important compared to the solo.
Nice.
I'm thinking of learning there is no business to be done on a dead planet, and I have a seven string. I just wanna ask, are gauge 10 strings enough for drop B tuning? Or should I go for .11s because .10s will be floppy?
From what I'm seeing, I think it looks as if Chris uses 10s, just that maybe he uses a heavier bottom?
Not really sure either, so would like to know. =)
Well hes just tuning the rest of the strings (6-1)up and leaves the 7th (b) string at normal tuning to make a pseudo drop B, for what its worth. But for his tuning im using 56 - 10 strings and it feels okay, you could go to a lighter gauge, maybe some 9's if you don't like the tension since everything's higher(tighter)
But for normal drop B tuning then yeah sure heavier strings couldn't hurt, though it also depends on what kind of tremolo your using, floyd rose = fuckin pain the ass, might need heavier springs too
fixed bridge = go wild, use whatever feels/ sounds good
@iRaiseTheDead Dean
umm wow! that is all
Please make a band together.
Is Chris playing a fretless 7?!
That bend made me make a guitar face just sitting on the couch holy feck
@AmsterDannzz i think hes nervous u can kinda tell
@kishkabob3721 Could be that storey's guitar is in tune. but something sounds really shitty when they break down some harmonies.
in my opinion they're both talented guitar player,but Luke is scary,u should listen to some Sleep Terror.
08:29 - fuck!! simply cannot explain ! haha
i believe its a rusty cooley guitar
anyone have the pdf tab for this?
@GrunesMannchen Rusty taught him
Im kind of confused on the tuning, Did he use drop F# for the first 6 strings and left the low B intact?!?!
It's tuning the whole guitar up a step on the normal 6 then a Low B on the 7th. Drop A up a whole step.
ive got the mooves like jeger lol
Lower intermediate level guitarist here. What exactly is he doing during that deathcore technique in the last song? Is he tapping, or doing something with the pick? Can't tell.
Tremolo tapping. You can use the rounder side of your pick for more attack on the tapped notes.
Thanks to this video, I was able to play the track Never Again. Check my cover for this song!
song names
why does he use a rusty cooley sig? :o
Por que dejaron de tocar :(
I have been playing for 5 years, completely self taught, I've gotten almost every technique moderately down, but sweeping is the damn thing that kills me. Any tips on it? Chris has his shit DOWN haha
Got it downafter 10 yers of playing
