I just discovered about this dude, and this video is the most honest tutorial video with mistakes and errors but doesn't make him looks less great or sloppy. He's very talented musician. Salute to you, brother!
he says in the video. It's because the scale is larger at the top than the bottom because he tunes up a step and the tension made his strings snap all the time. However, he still probably likes the tension on the higher strings. It also looks cool
glad you're back man! you should really do a vid where you show your technique and some licks and stuff that you used when you were first learning, like some things you used to get where you are today amd that fast.
Oh you're that Chris? I saw the blueprints, sort of say, in their website. I thought the paintjob was freakin' awesome. Awesome lick BTW. Ill try to learn it
If you, Jason Richardson and Aj Minette ever did an instrumental collaboration album...Mmmmmmm the melodic possibilities. I can only dream c: Oh and love the vids!!
This is so awesome once again. I hope you keep on posting the lick of the week video lesson ! I like your new guitar ! What is the body made of by the way? Thanks
I'm new here, and man do I think you are awesome! Since I'm a bit slow, could someone please tell me the arpeggio sequence he's used (simply written here in order) as I'm a little confused by which key it's in (I get that it modulates be seems to centre around an Eb major/C# minor sound) and the tuning of the guitar is taking a little for me to get my head around, though it's an awesome tuning!
This guy has talent and he can have whatever he wants - any group, money, chicks, fans. But he simply disappeared from the radar. Totally fucked up. Warm greetings from cold Russia) I still remember how my jaw dropped from your playin in Moscow in 2007-2008.
I've heard they are pretty bad. They make interesting graphics, but the quality is very iffy. Stick to builders like .strandberg*, Skervesen, Daemoness, and KxK.
Mason Stanley you are exactly right. they sound really shitty. get a guitar with good pickups and some nice wood for a fraction of the price and you wont regret it Merritt Mussorgsky
thanks guys. I thought it might be to good to be true. I'll give it whirl anyways just for shits and giggles. That 10 string shibito just looks like a theme park of fun to play around with. If it sucks I'll just get another Conklin, I can always count on them to make real art when it comes to guitars. I am interested in checking out a strandberg in the near future.
No shit? Well thanks man, yeah I'll give it go. I mean why not right!? It's less than a third as much as any 8 or 9 string Conklin and the graphics are so innovative. I'll slap a couple lace passive pickups in it, scallop the neck and it should be good to go. I mean when else or where else am I going to find a 10 string beast like that for that price...hopefully it'll sound and feel as good as it looks. We'll see. Thanks for the feedback
+Merritt Mussorgsky for what kind of music do you use a 10 string? O.o sure, it Djents and it works for some jazz...but else idk. Enlighten this stupid soul please
It's drop B with an extra high F# basically he is using a 7 string for an extra high string, although it does have the low B a 7 normally has. The bottom 6 strings are just tuned up
@@gallonegro1620 Its good if you want to do a drop tuning on a 7 string but not have the low muddy tone you can get on the bottom string by doing a drop tuning. Its not a super common tuning but it seemed to work for ASP so who am I to saying anything. Did that help at all?
Dude you were rocking the multiscale before anyone really.

Wow that thing is a serious shred machine!
Chris Storey and Mark Okubo are my favorite gutiarists. they just shred
Man, this lick is so sick! Working in on it on my bourgeois 7 string. Hopefully you'll appreciate a humble response video.
Completely flat fretboard? Just like Shawn Lane. Loving that guitar dude! Your licks are always great to get out of the things I repeat all the time.
I miss this dude
dat fkn awesome skillz :3

My Harmony classes used that green Tonal Harmony textbook/workbook in the background, haha.
If you, Jason Richardson and Aj Minette ever did an instrumental collaboration album...Mmmmmmm the melodic possibilities. I can only dream c: Oh and love the vids!!
Dude you have to bring it back you are the true Jason Richardson the original, he is an imposter, you are the original shred lord
Beast!
I have that same keyboard!
Great playing man. Sick guitar too. Carbon fiber neck is fkin
The difference is there's extra string length/scale for the lower strings so they aren't all sloppy and loose.
That lick sound similar to your eradication solo. You're fuckin great man
The best!!!
Good ol' days
Storey is a monster, but fool looks hes been smoking some 30's..... 30 30 30 thirty thirty thirty's!
This is so awesome once again. I hope you keep on posting the lick of the week video lesson ! I like your new guitar ! What is the body made of by the way?

You should make a video on how to write a lick
fucking awesome guitar and ovviously fucking awesome skills chris \m/
Please do a vid on alt pick! Thanks!
brutal men!!
that carbon fiber neck is beautiful
Chris is as Storey as ever
Can someone explain to me what he is playing and how it's played? Thanks.
casey unger
Just quit. It's what i did
chris is that pentatonic lick the scale you used for the awaken the dreamers solo?
@Christopher Storey, how is the weight of the guitar? As far as the neck and body and how they balance.
Haha, "now that was really slow"
Dude, your slow bits are still twice as fast as I can play. How much do you work with a metronome a day?
Why are you so good, Chris? Now whatever I do with my Etherial will seem inferior :P -Noyan
I want to do that
Any new music, Chris?
Chris you should be on G3
Chris take it easy on the opies bro!
"that's slow" he says.
Thanks for making me feel like shit, Chris.
hey man, i would love tabs as well! :D
thx u, bro)

thats the same music theory text book i used in high school
Does that keyboard there have a metronome?
holy shit!
know how i know chris is stoked? the rockett shirt
What string gauges does he use
Chris, i dont get it, what is the difference of a fanned neck to a regular neck?
What's the retail on that bad boy?
What kind of picks do you use?
do you have guitar pro 6 ?
i thought he was kidding when he said you could play it faster
11:57 is the best part! hahahaha
Holy shit , where can i buy it?)

how do etherial guitars play? I'm thinking about ordering one soon

Did he say he tunes b on 7 and f# to f# on the six strong part.
It's drop B with an extra high F# basically he is using a 7 string for an extra high string, although it does have the low B a 7 normally has. The bottom 6 strings are just tuned up
im trying to figure out what would be the optimal string gauge for this setup on my 7 string,
a lighter set for sure, like some 9's or maybe 8's, anything heavier will have a higher chance of snapping under the tension of such a high tuning.
I don't like this tuning, it's kind of pointless to me but to each their own
@@gallonegro1620 Its good if you want to do a drop tuning on a 7 string but not have the low muddy tone you can get on the bottom string by doing a drop tuning. Its not a super common tuning but it seemed to work for ASP so who am I to saying anything. Did that help at all?
I tabbed the amazing arpeggio part, send me a message if you want me to send it to you ;)
