UPDATE: When I reinserted the lock devise while the handle was still loosie-goosie, I tripped a switch inside the lock-devise hole, on the top. This will pull the handle flush. You can either push this little tab back with a screw driver before reinstalling the lock devise OR, inserting the lock devise will trip the switch as well. Here’s a video on a 3-series where that step is shown.

I have a BMW X5 E70 N63. I had a issue last week where the car lost all audio and Bluetooth connectivity. It also starting firing " No Warning Tones". Your video, out of so many other videos out there, was the one that helped me fix it. I replaced the door handle as well as the fried Fuse#132 ( 7.5 Amps). The car works just fine now!

@@Nissanpuc Check the fuse first before you replace the handle. Also, how many miles do you have on your car? There is a settlement that could save you a lot of money on a new engine. E70 N63 engines are notorious for leaking oil and blowing up after a while.
This video is still super clutch just ordered my door handle cant wait to install because i love comfort access! It can be finicky on the E series BMW’s but once you understand how the system works you literally never want to go back to using the key!

Thanks for the video, I've been having a similar issue with high battery drain warning and it eventually blew the 132 fuse.....which breaks the M.O.S.T. loop which then also disables everything! Heck I thought my amp had fried at one point, but it was just the CAS fuse. Anyways thanks again for finding the parts site and putting this video together.

I'm currently working on this exact same issue, the "battery drainage" has been an popping up for a while - I thought it was the rear gate not seating properly (another issue i need to fix) but then last week the 132 fuze went out.. no audio, bluetooth connection or chimes.. it's ridiculous that the door handles are tied together to the same circuit.. my mechanic did me the courtesy of checking the drivers side door handle while inspecting it but it turns out its one of the other 3 or just the front passenger (that's where i plan to start).. I hope they come out in a similar fashion, great video..

just had this happen today, exact same everything, was so worried but found multiple posts about all the exact same issues
for my 2014 bmw 535i they wanted 650.. 471 for the part and 150 of labor work. I told him naww I can get it for 60 on ebay and I can do it myself... Saved 600 dollars.
You forgot to grease the moving parts ,very important Guys ! Good job ,I need to do mine only works when wet making contact LOL They are not called the Stealership for nothin !
Hmmm. I didn’t grease the headlight assembly after I rebuilt it. Should I have? Rhetorical question.
My issue and I'm sure most people have this problem is the battery was not holding its volts at rest have enough power to start the car so it was defective make sure your battery is above 12.2 at rest if not more than likely it's defective with a good charging system or a parasite draw

The ribs are for locking grab the handle to unlock it

Do you think this fix would address if three doors had failing CA, but one door worked without a hitch? (Rear passenger side door works. All others, notta).

All my other handles were working. Do any of your Comfort Access door handles work? Is it an E71 or E70?

shpat Gostivar Yes. Check fuses. If that isn’t the problem, it could be one of your Electronic Control Units (ECU’s) that controls the door locks. Let’s hope it’s a fuse.

Your video couldn’t come at a more perfect time as I was about to go to the dealer for the exact same issue when I saw your video the night before. My concern is, I saw 2 different parts numbers on parts hub and couldn’t readily determine which one to select. The description didn’t help much #51-21-7-207-565 or #51-21-7-207-567. Doesn’t say front or rear. Do you happen to know the correct one?
I think the best thing to do would be to enter your VIN on the home page, go to the door schematic, then it will tell you the exactly part number you need for that door handle. When in doubt, send an email to them or call. They will respond. Give’em a day or two though. They’re good people. Are the rest of your door handles’ Comfort Access’ working? If not, it could be your ECU (Computer).If it’s just the one handle, then this’ll probably fix it.
@@clevelandaeromotive Turns out that the part # you provided (which I initially missed) in the video was the correct one (565). They responded and confirmed it. My other 3 doors are fine. Definitely a faulty handle as it is warm to the touch and is causing a severe. battery drain. Have to fix this asap as the winter will cause the battery to deplete quicker. Thanks again for the tip.
I heard that e70s are prone to high battery drain issues and most of the time it can be traced to the door handles is this what you were fixing? Mine has said issue with battery drain. And from forums this seems to be the issue.
I’ve heard about “hot or warm” door handles, but no. I had no battery drain or warm/hot handle.
How do you identify which door handle caused the issue?
It was easy for me because the comfort access simply stopped working on the front driver's side door. Your problem may be different if ALL you door handles stopped functioning at once.
Did you also have the problem of the key needing too be inserted too turn the car on? Along with the handles not working
No. Sounds like either 2 separate problems or, an Electronic Control Module Unit problem.

@@clevelandaeromotive latest M50d produced between 2012-2014 . E71 it is but f16 uses same engine and gearbox
could you plese advise if confort access for all doors are off at the same time but for boot still working the fault is on the drivers handle or fuse? Many thanks
If none of the doors work it sounds like your comfort access control module is bad.

All other doors worked. I was comfort access opening my car by touching the rear door handle on the drivers side for a while. This was the only handle that did not respond.

I’d be selling that prior to 100k unless your ok W the ridiculous expensive Engine replacement bill.. These N63 are Junk the N63 TU black 50i engine cover are a little bit better but their imo designed to line BMW s pockets Even if your handy and can do own work any BMW v8 is so so hard to do almost anything on!! BMW actually drops the entire engine and subframe out of the car to do a R&R on the entire engine at once! Now who in todays broke ass world can safely afford that ??? This price point of a vehicle shouldn’t be riddled w/ as many problems as all BMWS have !! I went w the 35i x6 as their much More reliable and easier to work on your self.. Why I only drive BMWS I’m starting to ??? That my self .. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
