Wycon is shady AF. regardless of this racial slur thing, which I wanna believe is a VERY wrong choice of song title, there are multiple ways by which they are shady. One of the things I noticed across their stores in all of Italy is that they put sales tags on every product even when- or "especially when", should I say- only some products are on sale. So you arrive at the cash register and they inform you that the articles you chose are not on sale, and some people feel guilty for not paying, thinking it's their mistake that they didn't check. I remember the ZPalette BS. One of their comments to another person was like “You just don’t understand what induction technology is but have fun burning your makeup”. I DID know what induction was so I commented with a link to an induction cooker that was half the price of theirs. I was blocked immediately. 😂😂😂 This is the sort of thing that taught me not to be loyal to a brand. They are made up of people and people are trash sometimes. Hi Robert, There's this brand that I'd be super interested in you covering as I've heard so many shady things! Perhaps you could consider exposing them at the start of April next year or something? Anyways, I think the brand is called SkinUp? Please be cautious when looking into the brand, I've heard some people's faces have almost fallen off when trying products- especially some form of disposable blush glove???? Idk who runs the company but I dont think they've addressed the controversies so far. Much love anyways x
I second this, Jackie in their customer service team is just the most awful human, every time I email enquiring on the status of my order she suggests I better use my time making bronzer out of coffee?!?!? (Still haven’t received my order FYI!)
Worst brand ever!! Still waiting for my order to arrive. I paid $500 for a lipstick, so you'd think it would've arrived within the delivery period! Also, the customer service is really bad! I'm still waiting for them to answer my email. 🤣 ( Love ya Robert! ) 💜💚😘🇭🇲
Robert, I love your look in this one. It's so soft and natural. I looove the big glam color looks, but this seems like a beautiful everyday look. Really lovely.
Great vid as always! I work in digital marketing, not much on the social media side but it is SO frustrating to see how that Z person responded. If you're going to respond to negative feedback, you accept that feedback graciously and thank them for taking valuable time out of their day to share their thoughts about your product. Instead, they presented the brand as a petulant teenager who takes criticism way too personally and lashes out in response. Total fail.
Me too. I figured it would be a name that was inappropriate, like an innuendo that was a little too on the nose. When he said what the name actually was- I was shocked.
For the “hot plate”, USE A WAX WARMER. That apology by Wycom reminds me of an essay my son did in 8th grade. It HAD to be 50 words or more. This is gist of it… “I’m writing an essay that I don’t want to write. My teacher told me it had to be more than 50 words. I can’t think of 50 words.” Something like that 😂
Wow! Just wow! These brands may as well say “we do not care if we retain our customer base or gain any new customers” How obtuse can people be??! Their “apologies” (that aren’t) are more of a “sorry, not sorry!” I don’t purchase from the first brand or from Z-Palette, but I have purchased from Benefit in the past. No more. The only way these brands seem to “get it” is if their bottom line is affected. And even then, they sometimes still continue the bad behavior 🤷♀️ thank you, Robert, for bringing awareness to these issues! I am not on many social media platforms at all so I do miss things that brands do/say sometimes. Thank you for keeping us updated on the latest and also for your deep dives (or shallow paddles lol) into different brands. Love you and love your content! Sending much love and positivity and healing hugs your way 🖤💜 I hope you’re feeling better 😊

So I was homeless for 2 years and during that time, the musician Macklemore insulted me to his child, and ever since then I can't listen to his music. And I lived in Seattle at the time and now live outside it so his music is constantly on the radio. I feel like if a brand insulted me I'd react the same way and never support them again🤷♀️ maybe im petty, but idc I don't like supporting mean people
@AppalachianAllegory yeah I'm a pretty emotional person and it really messed with me. Especially because I was already struggling with my self worth due to being homeless.
Amazing how cosmetics brands, by the very nature of their products help people build their confidence, are the first ones to tear people down. Beauty is for everyone.
As a therapist and a beauty lover, I am always blown away at the amount of ignorance and gas lighting that comes from these companies. Robert, I love these videos. As they help us to be more informed consumers( Even if we can't afford the product 😂💀).
Part of me is shocked about the nail polish but part of me also really isn't shocked anymore at some of the stuff brands do and I think for many of them it is just to start commotion and get press. If a brand attacked me personally for simply saying that I didn't like a product or that it didn't work for me, I'd probably laugh at bit that they have nothing better to do.
You got 130 likes in the time it took me to watch this! I can't imagine as a brand not immediately firing anyone who did that and then sending public apologies to each person along with some sort of gift. There are way, way too many cosmetic brands competing out there to be so vile to potential customers.
Hi Robert, love these videos! For the "Giving Season" maybe you could do a video on brands that give back, do things right, brands to support, brands that really ARE green and doing good for the world. That would be so uplifting and festive!!! Thanks for all your videos, Robert. I do miss ghost stories. 🥲
Considering the make up sector is saturated, you would think brands would do everything they could to engage, be polite and empathetic with their potential clients. There is so much choice, we don't have to put up with patronising, rude and ill-educated brand representatives!
I'm genuinely speechless right now. Just when I thought I'd seen the lowest of lows in your previous videos of brands messing up, these case studies found new ways to hit rock bottom...😶
The irony is that the loud reactions to those names will increase their brand recognition and sales. The most effective response would be to completely ignore them, denying them the free advertising they crave.
I can't believe some people actually are being paid to make this type of mistakes. Must be on purpose, just because they want attention, even if is the worst kind of attention.
The Z Palette reaction is reminding me of the Evie Blender controversy a few years back 😂 They targeted Leesha (xsparkage) and sent her a fake cease and desist so she got her lawyer involved.
Christ. The owner of z palette’s instagram comments almost made me choke on water. Absolutely insane and delusional thinking that that is an appropriate way to speak to anyone
Honestly if a brand replied to me like that at first I'd be like "Well, f... you." 💁♀And then I'd laugh my ass off. I mean, what are we, kids in middle school... The whole thing with creating scandals around your brand to make it more popular is something I'll never understand. Kind of like when they say any press is good press. I never got that. Cause when you do something stupid you either piss me off or just make me shake my head and forget about you.
Robert, thank you so much for your insight! I appreciate how much research you do on brands and companies to help us make more conscious choices with our beauty products! Also, I just wanna say you're looking especially gorgeous lately. I really love your new hairstyle!
The whole Benefit thing really grossed me out. The fact sizeism is still acceptable blows my mind. Thank you for including Benefit in this video. They just lost me as a customer.
Two things come to mind when I saw the name especially when you said they’ve already put out an apology: 1. Asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission. 2. Bad publicity is better than no publicity. Nonetheless, the name is ABSOLUTELY appalling.
The Benefit/Twitter response is literally the same as when a friend says an offensive joke and the response to being called out is “it’s just a joke. Stop being so sensitive.” Like wtf, would they like it if people joked about their marginalization or insecurities?
Absolutely love these type of videos you’ve been posting. So interesting & informative! 🙌🏼 I also love to hear that you too love & enjoy making this kind of content 🤍
“Pass on you” made me laugh 😂 I do think Robert is right, surely brands would learn from controversies, fact so many of them keep getting into more controversies on social media must be intentional. I’ve never bought Wycon before, and definitely won’t now
❤these videos are absolutely so beneficial. Like other people have mentioned, it's impossible to keep up on everything and I don't want to support brands that pull stupid stunts like this. Thank you, Robert!
My favorite response to anyone saying something to me that is just out of pocket is, "What a strange thing to say to me." Generally it throws people off their game. So that would likely be my response if a brand wanted to fuck around and find out

😂😂😂😂 not skin up! I heard the twin owners are really just one person
How very dare you! SkinUp sells only the highest quality products at very reasonable prices. Anyone whose faces have fallen off are just jelly haters!
Worst brand ever!! Still waiting for my order to arrive. I paid $500 for a lipstick, so you'd think it would've arrived within the delivery period! Also, the customer service is really bad! I'm still waiting for them to answer my email. 🤣
( Love ya Robert! ) 💜💚😘🇭🇲
Your @ name gives me life
I worked in retail all my life dealing with the public on the daily it drives me nuts when I experience bad customer service xx
Omg i dropped my toast at the nail polish name. What the fuck is wrong with brands.
It makes you wonder what kind of people get hired into these “think tanks” that come up with some of these rediculous things!😂
That Z palette hot plate thingie comment section sounds like someone's 13 year old sister stole her phone.😂
Love these videos because I really don’t follow the beauty industry but it’s good to know if there are some companies I shouldn’t support
Robert, I love your look in this one. It's so soft and natural. I looove the big glam color looks, but this seems like a beautiful everyday look. Really lovely.
I can hold a grudge against anyone or anything until my dying day and I don't need a good reason. Just a reason!😂
I appreciate all the info!
100%
I love these videos and the way Robert expresses his opinion! 💜🖤
Total fail.
There is no way they actually named the nail polish like this🤯🤯🤯
They are that bad.
Your eye makeup looks so good in this video! (You always look great, but that look really makes your eyes pop)
I was just thinking that! The light shade is so sparkly!
The way my jaw dropped with the first name 👁️👄👁️
This is gist of it…
“I’m writing an essay that I don’t want to write. My teacher told me it had to be more than 50 words. I can’t think of 50 words.”
Something like that 😂
How those Wycon names were EVER conceived… let alone approved and used… is honestly beyond comprehension.
Wow!
I can’t believe these things happened yet I am not surprised. I love learning about all this! Such a good series!
That last brand is insane for commenting those things but if a brand replied to me "And we pass on you!" Id DIE laughing
The way my mouth dropped with that nail polish name!!
I picked up one of the new elf lip balms yesterday cuz of you and omg I looove it! I got the Grape flavor but im planning on getting a couple others. I like how cute they are, elf has really been killing it the last couple years🙌
I just got a putty blush from them a couple weeks ago and it’s amazing. Elf is actually so good
@@Itscannatella yeah I'm trying to get their lip oil too. I love cheap products that are actually really good quality🙌
So I was homeless for 2 years and during that time, the musician Macklemore insulted me to his child, and ever since then I can't listen to his music. And I lived in Seattle at the time and now live outside it so his music is constantly on the radio. I feel like if a brand insulted me I'd react the same way and never support them again🤷♀️ maybe im petty, but idc I don't like supporting mean people
OMG what?! That's freaking terrible, I'm so sorry that happened to you.
@AppalachianAllegory yeah I'm a pretty emotional person and it really messed with me. Especially because I was already struggling with my self worth due to being homeless.
Robert saying “shut up” in response to benefit being dumb lolol
The name of that gel polish is absolutely vile, and the company has no excuse!
Robert coming at us with the tea!
I appreciate and love those kind of videos informing us about these brands 🖤🖤🖤❤️❤️👏👏
As they help us to be more informed consumers( Even if we can't afford the product 😂💀).
i'm sorry but the benefit one?! 😅😭😭 lmao. that intern on the socials was going insane
Keep these coming! Love the tea!
Robert, you are so funny, and the way you read back the sassy comments is pure entertainment. ❤
Sadly not surprised about that nail polish name. Italy seems to love blatant racism, whether it’s in sports, TV or beauty. 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you for these posts discussing bad behaviour by brands, we need to know where to spend our money.
Its always a culture shock coming to your channel after watching the absolute chaos that is the Welsh Twins channel lol 😂
Dude WHAT that first brand is WILD for that.
The irony is that the loud reactions to those names will increase their brand recognition and sales. The most effective response would be to completely ignore them, denying them the free advertising they crave.
The people on the Z pallet ig account have the maturity level of a child 🤦🏻♀️
I can't believe some people actually are being paid to make this type of mistakes. Must be on purpose, just because they want attention, even if is the worst kind of attention.
The Z Palette reaction is reminding me of the Evie Blender controversy a few years back 😂 They targeted Leesha (xsparkage) and sent her a fake cease and desist so she got her lawyer involved.
I love your makeup in this video! The black and silver suits you so well!
13:11 You mixed up Tarte and Too Faced again, Robert. 😂🖤❤
Robert, thank you so much for your insight! I appreciate how much research you do on brands and companies to help us make more conscious choices with our beauty products!
Also, I just wanna say you're looking especially gorgeous lately. I really love your new hairstyle!
companies do racism on purpose because that's free marketing. enrage people and they are talking about it for weeks sometimes.
The whole Benefit thing really grossed me out. The fact sizeism is still acceptable blows my mind. Thank you for including Benefit in this video. They just lost me as a customer.
Please do Make-Up Geek MLM and overpriced make-up classes!
Two things come to mind when I saw the name especially when you said they’ve already put out an apology:
1. Asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission.
2. Bad publicity is better than no publicity.
Nonetheless, the name is ABSOLUTELY appalling.
I love how much integrity you have and how down to earth you are. Keep speaking your mind and using your platform to call out awful behaviour xoxo 💜🖤
PLEASE PLEASE DO A FULL VIDEO ON RITUAL DE FILLE! The brand looks so magical.
Chemo day, I was about to go to sleep and this video popped up... sleep can wait! 😂
Sending hugs and healing vibes for you
these videos never fail to interest me as soon as i see them on my recommended page. typical robert slay
Oh I remember the z-palette drama... what a way to totally tank your brand 😅
I also love to hear that you too love & enjoy making this kind of content 🤍
No wonder i've never heard of that brand with a nailpolish like that!
There is a big difference between apologizing and doubling down
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog 🧡
The way my jaw dropped when I saw the first one.. what the actual f**k
Thank you, Robert!
i remember the z palette drama so vividly, it was insane
My favorite response to anyone saying something to me that is just out of pocket is, "What a strange thing to say to me." Generally it throws people off their game. So that would likely be my response if a brand wanted to fuck around and find out
I looooove it every time I see your hair in this style. It really pulls the entire look together ❤
