- So here's a LONG video of me installing EMG ALX set to my Jackson JS32 Randy Rhoads. It's a passive pickup with 3 band EQ and gain boost. Testing video will come soon!

I got a ltd alexi 600 with a blackout (2006 model) and i just ordered a emg alx hopefully ill get it asap so i can swap out pups...im also going to try to upgrade to brass claw and brass block along with stainless steel components for my floyd1000
Nice dude! Alx sounds pretty cool and awesome through my Marshall mg100fx. Im also planning on changing the whole trem :D

Im so newbie with guitar electronics, does the battery lose charge when that one thing isnt connected to switch the pick-up on and off? 😅
That's what I've heard on other emg models (example zakk wylde set) but can't confirm 100% sure yet, lets see it in few months

You used ALX, shouldn't you use F-ALX? And great video. I have an alexi 200. I am ordering the F-ALX. The ESP Has a floyd rose specs so I ordered F-ALX I hope i didn't fuck up lol

My best friend is a luthier and will build An Alexi flying V with tuneomatic bridge so I can easily change tunings. I will post the video of the guitar building.

I saw that alexi had a switch on his boost on his guitars, and I was wondering if youu could get a switch for the boost or if you're stuck with the knob?

Btw what are the difference between EMG-ALX and EMG-F-ALX for example are the both solderless pickups?
the difference is that EMG-F-ALX is F spaced, meaning its made for floyd rose bridges, that's literally all the differences
I had a similar problem, but i didnt have enough long wire to get from the input jack to the pot. Could you help me? (the wire is the black and white one that splits and goes to the input jack) can i just connect one of them to the input jack with the green extension wire or do i need to have them both
Yeah only one is enough, go with the green
wich one do i connect the green to the black or white wire?
@@zul1a_215 Umm if i remember correctly connect it to the white and then connect it to the input, check the "alexi laiho signature guitar installation" manual for a clear graph
@@finnishboy45 i tried i think everything is correctly placed the pickup works alltho really quietly but there is a fuck ton of electrical distortion sounds that should not be there
@@zul1a_215 I just bought the same pickup and the same problem so i connected the green cable to the black cable of the 9V battery that should go in the output jack, and to avoid thath noise put some insulating tape on the connction
I have a Jackson js32t and I took it apart to install a bridge Dragonfire crusader pickup but i was lost like wtf is this mess lol.Could you help me?

@@finnishboy45 no I'm totally confused on what wires need to be unsoldered and the new pickups wires need to go thank you for such a fast reply:)!
@@finnishboy45 do you think you could maybe make a tutorial.I could do it on any other guitar but the way this Jackson is setup confuses me
@@iranee5597 im not that familiar with those pickups but you should leave grounding wire intact. Usually pickup change requires only solder the pup wires off and replace those spots the new pickup wires. (check instructions for with wire is hot etc.)
@@finnishboy45 ok my pickups have a silver and black grounding wire.And then a green hot wire.Do I connect the 2 ground wires?

Which pickup should i put in the neck? Is it easy to install? I have a passive Esp SV
this particular pickup is made for bridge and yes it is pretty easy, just follow the instructions guide. No soldering required.
@@finnishboy45 What you would put in combination with it on the neck? Do i need an active solderless or passive pickup? Now my guitar has two passive pickups
@@matteog.6909 I think you can connect active pup with this but ill recommend getting an emg hz in to the neck. It'll connect nicely to the emg wiring
@@finnishboy45 Ok, sounds good. So i need ALX for fixed bridge and Hz. So even the Hz will be solderless, and it’s all included in the package when i buy it?
@@matteog.6909 Yes it's solderless and everything is included. All tho you gotta buy the ALX and HZ separately
