These guys were like two peas in a pod. Beautiful harmonies and they just absolutely completed each other. They should have worked out their differences and things would be much different today. They are both amazing guitar gods. Now Roope isn't doing much and has no motivation besides drinking and it is heartbreaking to watch.
I can't think of Alexi sitting and practicing licks for 8 hours. I mean, is something that everybody has to do sometimes and he probably did, but there are certain people that make it look really easy and simple, like Alexi or Roope, giving the impression that you don't have to spend that amount of time practicing.

If i remember correctly a rough translation would be something like "I spent weeks in a fucking cellar playing classical pieces to be able the shred like this, so of course i'm going to show it off. And everyone who puts in the effort should do so." He was also a student here in the finnish pop/jazz conservatory, so i'm pretty sure he has had his fair share of 8 hour sessions. :D
This video really is gold for Bodom fans. Alexis and Roope were unstoppable, and I saw them many times, here in Vancouver. Roope is an incredibly talented, underrated player, and he did not deserve to be kicked out of Bodom.

Holy shit :) Roope and Alexi are legends. In 6.08 starts very nice Sinergy song, so brilliant and technic. From guitarist view its very nice to hear and see "instrumental" version and hear better instruments. I saw Sinergy and Bodom in Kuopio around 2001 ?? and Sinergy's gig was THE BEST GIG i have been ever. I got signatures :) and my ears ringed 2 days. I hope mr. rock'n roll Roope Latvala continues playing and composing because he is my idol and Alexi Laiho too.

I am gathering these guitars were the last of the IMC era Jackson custom shop guitars, Fender acquired Charvel/Jackson in 02. The Fender stuff is not bad to me but there is a vibe missing, ESP had it.
Closest one i could afford was the RRX24 with yellow pinstripes. I'm thinking of deleting the neck pickup and all extra buttons/switches. The reverse headstock must stay because thats too much modification for my skills

At the time Roope was much more well known in Finland than Alexi so the filmer didn't know Alexi was one hell of a guitarist. Or maybe he did but liked Roopes playing more idk.
It's sinergys lineup playing sinergy songs (for most of the part). Roope was just as lead as Alexi in this band. Totally agree these were the glory days...

To me, Sinergy was the ultimate guitar band. Especially the To Hell and Back era. Best stuff Laiho and Latvala ever did.
