Pretty sure that it was Stargate, followed by video games, that brought the P90 into the 'mainstream' knowledge, and I think that Stargate started using them because the MP5s they were using kept ejecting blanks into faces and collars, and they needed something that worked that didn't do that, was easy to use, and allowed the actors faces to be visible while still looking military enough to be believable.
Kinda, there is an interview on here with the armorer, besides ejecting downwards and out of their faces, they also allowed for side by side shots, and the sling allowed for the cast to carry them easier resting their hands on it and such. Its a really fun interview.
Glad I could get Zach to rant for 8 edited minutes because of my P90. He should really get his hands on the unique one some day. And thanks again for using ZL Armaments Remastered in your videos!

From what I heard, the NATO PDW trials were set up in fear of specifically kevlar, since they feared that Soviet paratroopers equipped with kevlar could get behind NATO lines, which is why the PDW was supposed to be issued to rear echelon troops. But if I'm wrong, I'd love to hear some details.

I just found 3 FN p90 mags for basically nothing at a secondhand store. They don't even seem used. I don't even own a 5.7 gun, let alone a p90. Did I buy them? You bet I did.

I also personally love my PS90, but sighting that thing in was a pain. Since they don’t make a good 5.7 laser bore, you have to buy a .22 laser bore, which is powered by a small battery pack connected to a wire, stick it in the receiver with a foam ear plug behind it. And because the PS90 bolt doesn’t lock back, you have to wrap a bunch of tape around the wire to prevent it from being cut. Yet I still like it.
the thing i find funny about the P90 TR is that, despite it not being made for as long as the regular P90, most games i've played that have a P90 use the TR model

Unfortunately I do have to correct Zach, there was actually 4 variants of the m1 garand, there was the M1C and M1D grands which didn't see much use in WW2 but did see some more use in the Korean war ( both were sniper variants) then there's the M1E5 "tanker" garand, which also only saw limited use, then there's the T20E2 which was basically a proto M14, it was an M1 garand that could use 20 round BAR mags and had a fire selector, unfortunately due to the end of WW2 it did not see much action and production was cancelled. While there were technically 4 variants I would argue there were only really 3.

5:18 that looks like an OTS 33 Pernach Machine Pistol they're chambered in 9x18. It was designed in the 90's. Thats about all i know about it, wikipidea said the square slide was to increase controlability of recoil and the simpler design meant it was cheaper to make aswell. This brings me distrust of information avaliable online about the pistol, however given the nature of it online is the closest I will probably ever get to the Pernach.

Also, technically the Trench Gun was not officially issued as a combat shotgun in WW1. Officially it was issued as a shotgun to guard PoWs. However, it was given out to line soldiers as field trials. And by WW2 it, and the Winchester 1912 had been officially adopted as Combat shotguns.
I’d be willing to bet the grenade skeet thing did happen at least once. Probably a one-off thing where someone got lucky.
@@cobraglatiator the hague land warfare convention banned the use of lead bullets in warfare.
Flamethrowers were not mentioned in it.
So yes the shotgun using buckshot was a warcrime when the flamethrower was not.
These rants are why my gun autism has improved dramatically.
Also i love the random rants in general, keep it up boys
The pistol at 15:22 takes inspiration from the OTS-33 Pernach which is a 9x18mm machine pistol. You may know this gun from watch dogs 1 as the “R-33” or if you play Vr you may know it from the Into the Radius, “OC-33”. Its a very cool gun you should look into it more
Pretty sure that it was Stargate, followed by video games, that brought the P90 into the 'mainstream' knowledge, and I think that Stargate started using them because the MP5s they were using kept ejecting blanks into faces and collars, and they needed something that worked that didn't do that, was easy to use, and allowed the actors faces to be visible while still looking military enough to be believable.
Kinda, there is an interview on here with the armorer, besides ejecting downwards and out of their faces, they also allowed for side by side shots, and the sling allowed for the cast to carry them easier resting their hands on it and such. Its a really fun interview.
I thought they transitioned to the P90 because of the Iraq War and casings were more expensive.
Glad I could get Zach to rant for 8 edited minutes because of my P90. He should really get his hands on the unique one some day.
And thanks again for using ZL Armaments Remastered in your videos!
I'd like to thank you both for the stories and videos you make. Years ago, I told my dad about your military experiences and he enjoyed them, one of them pissed him off though. Vietnam vet, 1968 to 70, the big one was the cabinets. 😂 He would have also yelled and cursed at the Sargent, but he'd demonstrate why the Humvee parts wouldn't fit, with measuring tape. He would make sure, "the dumbass" would understand the reality of his stupid choice. He is unfortunately no longer with us he passed away recently, but a while before he passed I showed him your videos, cabinets and baloney Bob, his favorite one 🤭. I will continue to watch and listen to you guys, thanks for the laughs and the enjoyment.
everyone likes the Baloney Bob story, no one wants to room with Baloney Bob
More Gun Rants! 🎉YIPPIE!🎉
*Mike after hearing Zach ramble about the P90 for 5 fucking hours* :"ALRIGHT, I GET IT!"
CZ Bren 2, already known for being incredibly reliable and robust, was recently updated to the Bren 3, and is apparently even MORE durable than the 2
With all of the parts that can be worn out being easily replaceable
We are back to gun rants bois!
Fun fact if it's not been said: the Suomi KP has a underbarrel flamethrower for it
Actually, according to Gun Jesus, Russia just counts guns as "adopted" when the military decides to go forward with development, as opposed to when they're ready for service.
(Also, I love the TT-33.)
That's likely true, because they "adopted" a lot of guns which they never used
Babe wake up, Zach is talking about the p90 again, we're eating tonight, boy dinner style.
From what I heard, the NATO PDW trials were set up in fear of specifically kevlar, since they feared that Soviet paratroopers equipped with kevlar could get behind NATO lines, which is why the PDW was supposed to be issued to rear echelon troops. But if I'm wrong, I'd love to hear some details.
pff. The 'body armor' 5.7 was "designed to defeat" was soft armor?
They could have just issued all their armories cowboy guns in .357 mag.
@@SavageGreywolf.357 magnum will not penetrate higher-rated soft body armor. Also, good luck fitting 50 rounds of that into any PDW.
We are so back
got classed up today for AM school, petty officer let us out early, get back to the barracks to relax and i see a new gun rant video, today is a good day boys.
Fun fact about the P90TR, the receiver is cast and since the picatinny rail is part of the receiver, it's cast too. They're apparently out of spec for picatinny as a result, they're too small. I'm told you have to really crank down your optics to hold zero.
I have a Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3 PS90, two of them have the original ring sight. My Gen 2 is basically a Stargate clone at this point.
Speaking of Stargate clones, I'm building the Carter Special.
The kp31 chance barrel was desing so you could chance barrel when the groves were getting weared down so you could chance it to one that has better grews and that if barrel frozen in Finland, you could chance to a dry one because finland gets alot snow during winter and winter is cold in here
Kp-31 mentioned, life now good.
Torilla tavataan!
my introduction to the p90 was the stargate sg-1.
More gun rants! LETS GOOOOO! I absolutely love hearing Zach talk about guns because aside from me being a gun nut I love hearing people talk about things they love because I know it makes them happy
Saaaaaame!
Can I get a source of the 80-page document of P90 Zach was referring to?
I would like that too
@@2q2see2 source or it didnt happen XD
I don't know why I was thinking it was 80-pages long, that's my bad. Maybe I was thinking of the XM9 trials report I have? Or maybe it was the nearly-800-page AEP-97 manual on "Proof and Inspection for NATO Small Arms Ammunition."
Anyway, I can't link it in the comments, but search google for "NATO Report On Future PDW Caliber Assessment"
I would love that as well
the combo of flash back comments on the p90 at the end is a great reason to be subscribed or even start with the other gun rants love these
Zach did infact say the p-90 was designed to penetrate armor
What about logs
Best way I have found to stow P90 magazines on a vest is to get the flap magazine pouches and use clips to have them sit 90° off the side.
The P90 will always have a special place in my heart as the weapon of choice for the Stargate teams in the various Stargate shows
I just found 3 FN p90 mags for basically nothing at a secondhand store. They don't even seem used. I don't even own a 5.7 gun, let alone a p90. Did I buy them? You bet I did.
Funnily enough a good chunk of 2nd hand P90 pouches were made for fans cosplay as SG-1 and extras from the show itself.
When I worked at an airsoft field we would use dump pouches to hold P90 mags. There was a weird pouch by condor for a little bit but we found dump pouches worked better.
I didn't find you guys until you were on episode like 300 for your new vegas videos. Got horribly addicted to you and now it's a problem. One video isn't enough, 5 isn't enough, i MUST binge. So my new plan has been to ignore you for a few months, this has been REALLY hard to do, so i can binge the new stuff in big blocks. Love your stuff guys.
MAC-10: 9mm and .45ACP
MAC-11: .380 or 9mm. Smaller size
"Do you know why I like the P90?" *Has ptsd style flashback to the hours and hours of Hazard talking about the P90*
im a simple man, i see a new zach gun rants, i click and i like.
I'll never get tired of watching these, learning and entertainment in one video
Zachs gun rants are still one of my favorite things to just relax to 😂
Seeing this posted 12hrs ago really tripped me up. This is too good to be true… we’re still getting new Mikeburnfire videos. Wow!
Yet I still like it.
would love a unique weapon complimation/rant for another millenia!
The story of the FBI and 10mm is actually way more convoluted than Zach makes it out to be. There were like 3 different 10mm rounds.
BABE WAKE UP NEW GUN RANTS VIDEO!
Horrible day at work, but coming home and seeing a new Zach gun rant makes it worth it.
I randomly thought about your rants the other day and have been binge watching all of them it is great to see you are still making them
the thing i find funny about the P90 TR is that, despite it not being made for as long as the regular P90, most games i've played that have a P90 use the TR model
I can’t believe yall are still uploading
Keep doing what you’re doing! This is fantastic
It’s 1:25 AM, I don’t have class until later today, I don’t have any homework, and I’ve got all the snacks I can hope for. I was just thinking about hitting up this channel as I’m about to take up getting a conceal carry license and wanted to get some sage advice from the homies Mike and Zach. Thank you for blessing us with the sacred ‘tism of gun rants guys, really makes my night. Also, pet le treasure panda for me.
We all know it's gonna be a good day when another one of Zach's gun rants comes out
In all my time in the army, I never needed the forward asset. I would press the button out of boredom.
PART 7 ON HOUR 7
And god fucking damn. You people never disappoint.
How to check of your P90 has one in the chamber: _Just give it a lil' shake_
Left comment about Tokarevs being mixed bag, with a lot of crappy ones but there being great ones, two times. But it dissappered, two times, not sure why?
TH-cam deletes comments at random sometimes. Either that or it's the algorithm for detecting thoughtcrimes fucking up. Take your pick, TH-cam sucks
Shadowbanning sucks.
Been a subscriber and fan since the start of the second season of Vegas and I’ve been so happy to see the community grow bigger and bigger. Can’t wait till they hit 1m subs
You know what.. Airsoft gear got P90 pouches covered, I remember seeing a brand of adjustable large SMG magazine pouches made specifically to house bison or P90 magazines.
Airsoft grade LBEs are good enough for civilians I reckon. Bit cheaper too since they don't have to be as sturdy as military grade. (supposedly)
26:53 Zach, those two little holes are the gas exhaust ports. After a magazine or two, that part of the bolt carrier is _hot as hell._
15:10 That is a Russian 9x18mm OTs-33 Pernach. It was designed by Stechkin to replace the Stechkin. You can see how well that went.
*“Give it a try!”*
This is why I love yalls videos 😂❤
Do the score of my favorite channels I look forward to every single gun rant that comes out it's so good to have a new vid
Oh boy l get to add a new gun rant to my sleeping playlist
5:10 i am speaking from some experience i find the pouches for the rpk 45-round mags pretty effective only problem you kinda have to fish down an inch to pull them out and the pouch curve is weird
I fell in love with the P90 from playing Metal Gear Solid 2 and seeing Solidus dunk on Metal Gears with it while you were struggling with a Stinger.
A NEW ONE!!! YES! THIS IS THE CONTENT THAT KEEPS BECOMING BACK! ❤❤❤
I had a 14h workday today.
This is a nice treat to fall asleep to.
Absolutely adore these, even as someone who isn’t really a gun enthusiast.
Ah yes Zach, I've seen you in the 9 Hole Reviews livestreams, and know you are a man of culture as well
Huh, I knew about the 9mm AR submachine guns, but never knew they made one in .45
Zach teaches me something new again
Hell yeah, new study session background noise! I swear I almost have the rest of the gun rants committed to memory
Having a bad day due to depression; gotta say thanks for these vids, they always make me smile and I need that today ❤ God bless
I hate TH-cam EXPONENTIALLY i stopped getting updates entirely no notifs no nothing. GOOD GRACIOUS its good to see more of you twos content. Still my favorite TH-camrs.
A new video and I'm having coffee? Love your guys work.
ayyyy new zach rants. been waiting for this since 6 my guys.
Woke up, got coffee, scrolled through TH-cam, saw new Zach’s Gun Rants, clicked it, happy 😃
It's a damn good day when a gun rants comes out.
