    Thanks for the good stuff, Red. I appreciated all the subtle install tips, along with the safety notes. This was probably one of the more comprehensive HPFP install videos I've watched. The only thing I'd ask for in future vids is better camera angles for the items you're talking about. Salamat!

Replaced pump - did not replace intake manifold gaskets because son didn’t want to spend to extra money- car runs good no but it only idles now because the gas pedal doesn’t work now - any suggestions? Don't ever use a junkyard pump. You might damage your fuel injectors and from there even the engine. If you do it yourself at least buy the original new pump. eBay rebuilt pumps don't work either. I had customers supply them and I've never seen one work properly

      Crazy, Im already researching if I can bring tools in the check-in baggage on the plane so I can go do this on his 2011 X3 35.
      He sent me a video and I can clearly see the HPFP so remove the throttle body and leave the intake in place.
      This video has got me ordering the part and the plane ticket already. I thought it was gonna be a bigger job than that.

I've had so many customers that bought it off eBay and I'd like to say every single one of them failed within a month or never worked at all. They sell as a rebuilt but they simply don't work.

    Hi .Greetings . engine N53 , can the injection pump emit any whistles, like belt rollers. while all the parameters of the injection pump are normal?

    • @werkstatte-bmwonly9515
      @werkstatte-bmwonly9515  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Typically a failed crankcase ventilation valve would cause whistle (sounding like belt) noise. You can measure the engine vacuum or at least slightly open the oil cap while the engine is running. If noise goes away and you feel an extreme vacuum while trying to open the cap it's your CCV valve.

    • @werkstatte-bmwonly9515
      @werkstatte-bmwonly9515  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Check your spark plugs. You might have leaking fuel injectors. Make sure they are all the same color and don't have built ups. Try new plugs as well since you'll have them out. If one of the plugs is black and looks different from theirs then find out what causes that on that cylinder. That's a very problematic engine overall but plugs will give you a good feedback about each cylinder.

      Hi there, we don't have diesel e92 in US. Typically nox sensors don't throw the vehicle in limp mode. It's more of the emission system check for the efficiency of the exhaust filter (diesel particular filter). Diesel vehicles also commonly have issues with low fuel pressure pump, fuel filter being clogged and leaking fuel injectors. Id say get is diagnosed by a specialized shop. Diesel models are very complex

      @@werkstatte-bmwonly9515 The videography is fine. You know...sadly, there's always somebody hellbent on sniffing out fault. In this case, if it's not obviously Scorsese behind the camera, that's good enough to whine. If the camera doesn't instantly automatically focus on the subject of the moment, that's the whiner's greenlight to do what they do best.
      Thanks for the vid. Good stuff. I recently bought an '09 135i with 89K miles. It's got a few of the typical mods (still need to inspect more thoroughly, but a brief browsing reveals it has aftermarket exhaust, dual-cone AFs, upgraded IC, charge pipes and possibly downpipe. This is my first BMW, so I'm still learning its particulars.
      And because it gives a nice burble on deceleration, I suspect it's got a flash tune? It runs very smooth, has great power, doesn't smoke, had no stored engine codes (after a few months and about 1.5K miles of driving since bought), and only drips an occasional drop or two of oil onto the ground. I do see a small puddle of oil at the top of the oil filter housing, which tells me it's likely the original.
      So...only having some of the basic info from the seller on a few of the mods, none of which mentioned changing/upgrading the handful of known failure parts (injectors, HPFP, oil filter housing gaskets, water pump, and ?), I don't know if the HPFP is the original. I can see a number on it. Do you know if there's a resource that can tell by that number whether the HPFP is original or a replacement?

      @@Stiffler1109 Thanks for the feedback. BMW has been rebuilding and changing the part number on the hpfp several times now. So finding the part number might not help. Also BMW dealership takes the core back to rebuild it again and you might have two part numbers on the pump. So you could find the one you aren't looking for. If it doesn't givey out trouble I'd leave it alone and not worry about it. On the other end take care of the oil leak. If the filter housing is leaking it might damage water pump and cooling hoses that could cost you thousands to replace. Water pump failure is extremely common from the leaking filter housing gasket.
