    Did you notice at the end once Harriets become Harbinger and Ruby's run off to the time window that Kate is now facing Sutekh with Ibrahim, 2 other soldiers and 2 children! An organisation like UNIT and they get rid of all the non essential staff and have 1 adult, 2 children a few soldiers and the Vlinx!

    I have a feeling Ms Flood will be Susan. Like the Susan Triad thing was a slight of hand red herring, where we think something is in one hand but it's actually in the other.

      But why did she turn evil? Is she one of Zutekh’s legions?

      @@user-tc6tu6ni8mNo confirmation that she "turned evil." This is a trick that RTD, and to be honest, Steven Moffat as well, likes to pull. She was suddenly ominous, but that moment was all we saw. She didn't act particularly evil or giddy with villainous delight. She was just sort of ominous and cold. Mark my words, she will be some good guy that will be key to defeating Sutekh.

    The shock factor was only not there because you're so hard core fans but you also need to have seen the 4th Doctors era so I'm not quite sure who Russells audience was because I wasn't shocked as I mostly expected it and my family weren't shocked as I was having to explain who Sutekh was!

    I think you guys should rewatch the episode. I kinda understood the time window, yes it has no ability to change the future you can only look through it for answers but Sutek was using his powers to manifest himself through the tape which is how he could see the Doctor I believe and how he managed to kill that UNIT soldier

    i really enjoyed it! Thought the time window was stunning visually, worked completely for me. I actually immediately wanted to rewatch it so i’m getting super contrasting opinions to you guys this week

    Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts. I did really enjoy this, but I was wondering if this would be a situation similar to what happened with Ahsoka. People who watched Star Wars rebels really liked Ahsoka, and people who didn’t watch it liked it significantly less overall I think. So, people who like classic Doctor Who who know a lot about Susan and Sutekh I imagine will like this a bit more, but people who did not might just be scratching their head. Do you think that’s accurate?

    That fucking ending, holy shit. This is the most hyped I've been about this show since John Sim returned, and I have to wait a whole to get it all answered. Easy 9/10, could upgrade or downgrade depending on EOD.

    Only discovered the pod this season and don't think I've agreed with yall once, but loving 50% regardless. This was the first episode I watched at midnight. And so glad we chose to do it for this one, sitting in the dark watching it was the closest ive felt to being 9 years old watching Who for the first time in 2005. I really think this is the episode that will foster a life long love for the show in a generation of kids.

    I am never doubting RTD's ability to write an Doctor Who finale again. 10/10. I wasnt expecting alot because of how inconsistent hes been but damn from the first second it has you engaged & constantly wanting more. The drip feed to the twist was Stolen Earth, Utopia kind of level. Can't believe I am saying this about Season 14 but this is for sure up there for one of the best episodes of all time

    Don’t beat yourself up guys! You are not the only ones who were underwhelmed by this finale. I agree that there wasn’t really a plot. Coming from someone who has also watched Doctor Who since 2005, all of Russell’s finales in his first run were top tier for me, so it’s disappointing as a fan to have a mediocre/slightly meaningless episode when we are used to such a high standard from him. I feel like this episode should have been condensed down to just be the first 15 minutes and then the rest of the episode would explore the villan and how they are affecting the lives of people on earth and/or other planets.

    I’ve always felt like (especially Doctor Who) two parters are extremely hard to rate without both parts. I loved this episode, but it’s hard to see it working as well without a big unknown. However I could watch the TARDIS entrance into UNIT for days.

    Just watched it like 5 minutes ago, most interesting bit for me was still Mrs Flood. I would find it hilarious if the one who waits is Cherry (waiting for her tea) and she is the harbinger

    After The Giggle and The Devils Chord were my least favourite episodes of this new era I did not at all expect to enjoy a god-based finale but so far I absolutely did. I had so much fun watching this episode, I was genuinely worried for the characters, I believed the threat (probably for the first time this season), I was intrigued, emotional, invested, overall I just really enjoyed it as a finale. However, I could see myself completely changing my opinion on rewatch.
    BUT the episode might have had a bigger impact on me because (thanks to Disney+) it’s the first time I can watch it as it airs. As a non-english-speaking international viewer I always had to wait months for episodes to be released (and then it would often be only the dubbed versions and originals were impossible to access legally) so the excitement of my first live season finale probably influenced my opinion quite a lot.

    I just watched " The Legend of Ruby Sunday". Instant thoughts...not too shabby.
    Apart from looking like the Biker from the Village People, Ncuti put in a solid performance, however "Give me the lovin' is not a catchphrase that I will be repeating any time soon. I loved that the anagram of S TRIAD & TARDIS was disposed of quickly. You are right though it's quite hollow and the solutions I picked months ago....Sue Tech....COME ON .. obvious much? Although seeds have been effectively sewn for what should be a cracking finale next week.
    Interesting that a show about Time Travel should have such bad timing. Why wait until now to be back on form RTD? This wasn't half bad at all.
    ps haven't seen Pyramids of Mars? Fake Fans😉😄. Dont worry i guarantee the latest Tales of the TARDIS or whatever its called will be PoM
    Doctor Who Channel has a nice short edit

    First of all, the time window is NOT green screen. It’s an actual set - they used those big wide screens (like they did in BOOM) to project it around them. So it’s an actual set, not Green Screen.
    Secondly, the fact that you have given this episode *a six* shows you’ve outgrown the show. This was a *nine*, at least.

    • @50DoctorPodcast

    The overwhelming joy I feel now that my boy Sutekh is back, able to demonstrate his true power... Thank God it wasn't the Beast
    Gotta concur on the feel of the episode. It felt rushed, quite out of pace, and helter-skelter... Like something was missing until literally the last 10 minutes. Would have definitely benefitted from a scene in Rogue.

    • @rammy3879

    There were numerous theories and rumours, Sutekh was one among many. Why did you believe that one? Why did you go looking for rumours if it's going to make you this negative about something that *you* spoiled for yourself?

  • @JohnUK22
    @JohnUK22 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I'm glad that I'm not the only one who was disappointed by it. I hated that the fan theories turned out to be right and I don't get why they are so keen to see Sutekh again. Admittedly it's years since I last watched Pyramids of Mars but I don't remember his being that interesting. The best thing I remember is the robot mummies which this version doesn't seem to have. And I swear I'm going to stop watching the show altogether if the Big Bad ever turns out to be the Rani - you can stick that fan service stuff right up where the sun don't shine.

    I thought morris ruined the episode, his quips didn't add anything to the story and he just felt like a reaction character, I have nothing against the actor but I can't stand his character

    Thank god Im not alone. Im on the same page as you guys, I enjoyed the episode a lot more on the rewatch, but that's because I just knew how clunky and messy the plotting was and just had to let that aspect of it go.
    Messy, clunky, and disjointed. Seriously flow issues this season, weakest RTD Penultimate episode by far.

    • @LapsedLawyer
      @LapsedLawyer 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think this whole season could have benefitted from being more like Flux honestly. Build in a bit more of the story arc, and make it more than a game of who's Susan Twist gonna be this week. And Sutekh? Well, if you look him up in Egyptian mythology (Set is,the most common name for him) yeah, he's a terror. Bit like Thanos without the greenwashing, but the Pyramids of Mars was a fairly minor adventure so not a top drawer Doctor Who villain. But, we'll see how it all shakes out Friday. Could turn out to be great, we'll see

  • @bluey111

    I wanted Ruby's mother being revealed but it was like a filler...also Susan the granddaughter was a waste of time since scanned earlier in the story as human!

  • @Thenesrookie
    @Thenesrookie หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Man the whole "Susan Twist is actually Susan" was so corny.
    "Yes this new character is definitely Susan, just because of a stupid anagram"
    It reminds me of Star Beast when they try fake out that Wilf died off screen and the play it so serious. Like of course you're not going to recast Susan and not bring back Carol Anne Ford, like how disrespectful would that be 😬

    • @rsienicki
      @rsienicki หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Well, they did recast the Doctor in 2005 without bringing back Paul McGann until like, 8 years later.

    The main thing with this serise is the doctor is actively stupid. Like in the entire serise hes not solved a single problem someone else has always done it. In space babies theres no change when they leave. In the 2nd the beetles solve it. In boom its a weird a.i dad. In 73 yards he does nothing. In dot he does nothing. In rouge , rouge solves the problem. In this one he spends the hole time creating an issue or missing the point then looking out the door. He will always be remembered as the time the doctor was dumb

  • @user-un9go4qe5i
    @user-un9go4qe5i หลายเดือนก่อน

    Disappointment all around. The first review I watched, literally the first one that popped up, was much the same. The original Sutekh was a god. Now he's just a dog. Watch Pyramids of Mars... it's superior in every way. The subtle horror of the original has been totally lost. RTD has nothing left to give... he's even re-using the classic lines.
