Good to see you back with a FOW report, they are the best one on the entire internet. A note on mission. CounterAttack is broken and have been replaced by Counterstrike making it more of an equal fight. Thanks again for making the battlereport, I really enjoyed it.
Great batrep as usual. Well painted armies on a nice board. That ambush was dangerous as the Allies wanted nice, close knife fight while Germans want range. But maybe the 16" ambush limit restricted your choices. Might have been better to ambush in the woods? When you rerolled all your FP tests on against those U.S. tank destroyers and got bails, did you have a luck card for a reroll? Would have been a good time to use it.
Way to go Jacob. You mentioned when you visited Gajo games in SLC, that Jon always wins, but looks like the dice were with you. Great Bat Rep gentlemen.
Enjoy watching your games. I have a question though in regards to the armour and how it is presented on the table. Tank units seem really bunched up or in lines and in perfect formation like Napoleonic infantry in line. Does it have to be played like that? i think somewhat spaced out would look more "real" for the use of a better word.
you can play it more spaced out, play on a larger table, even play with smaller models etc. honestly though, When you are actually playing the game all of that just kind of disappears in the narrative of the battle you are creating. I think the parking lot syndrome for lack of a better term is a rules based artifice. For example, you have a piece of terrain long enough to conceal 4 wheel to wheel tanks. If you spread them out "realistically," they won't all fit in cover and the ones in the open will give away concealment for the whole platoon.
Another example that the true strength lies in combined arms. Tank on Tank is always a bit meh. But at least you had fun and the game was quick. The table layout was also a bit open for my taste. Any way thanks for the report.

Thanks for the game. I've been missing your battles.
Same! Very much missed.
Some of the very best, if not the best, battle reports on TH-cam.
thanks so much!

Thanks and thanks for the info. Not a fan of Counter Attack

I really enjoy watching your battle reports! 🍻
Thanks!
Great to see you back, Jon.
thanks!
Love seeing a Chaffee company win! Sorry Jon :(
Merci pour cette partie :)
Loved both lista but that was a hard game for the SruGs. As mentioned counterstrike is a much better improvement on this mission.

...spoilers?
Jacob has selective memory, he never remembers his victories
I’m just learning about this game but aren’t there any infantry etc?

If you’re paying for Hellcats I really think you need to use their speed.
good game!
I love me some chaffees!
It is “shoot and scoot” not “scoot and shoot”. You fire and then move to avoid return fire.
Flames of War 😆😂🤣
Great to see people having fun. But there are so many better WW2 games out there, guys.
"Better games" is pretty subjective. Go with what you enjoy but don't put down other people's jam.
