Speaking of Brutal, the IS-2's gun makes infantry and gun teams reroll successful saves against it. Could've made a difference that turn Jon almost got those 88s. Edit: Another important thing about Begleits/Tankodesantniki - Infantry can always ride on tanks, it's a basic rule that's often missed. The unit/command card upgrades just makes them do it better than if a regular rifle platoon decides to hitch a ride. Keep up the good work, you guys rock!
I started in my early 20's and its true. You go to conventions and most players are between 2 and 3 centuries old. I turned 30 last year though, so I guess I am not a great example anymore haha.
Each shot has roughly 2.77% chance to damage the plane. Mathematically you need 37 shots to average 1 plane kill. 2+ saves ruins games IMO because it wrecks distribution curves. It takes a reasonably hard task (4+ followed by 5+, 16.6% chance) and turns it into a statistical anomaly
I noticed that as Jake was mentioning that the Elephants were "unkillable" that you aimed the camera at the Sturmoviks, Jon. Trying to say something there? Maybe some foreshadowing? : )
Great report 👍 The table looks great, the units are well-painted, a treat for the eyes :) The German Bagration book sounds pretty cool, new units to try out :)
Great batrep. I'd put the Elephants in the woods so they are less vulnerable to Sturms, and smoke for the Russians so they can get off a good charge to try and get those 88s before they get the JS1s. Great paint jobs on the armies too.
Wow! I lived long enough to see Jake roll well! Take those dice out for one wild party!! Tough set up for the Soviets! John that is the worst dice rolls ever?
Great Christmas report guys! Very happy to see Bagration forces and scenario. Really nice! And although the regular mistakes were done, it didn’t really matter to the general result. Commander can only jump to core formation units and not support, then 3 + last stand for Russians in general, and then the Brutal reroll on the IS-2’s. But thank you very much for the content, very nice videos! Great Job!
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall It all runs together for me. I don't think a game goes by with out someone using a v3 rule and we have to catch ourselves.

Jake ran a platoon of PZIV/70s in our December Patreon battle report. We do plan on them appearing again now that we have a lot more of them. I'd like to try a Company of them.
Great report - feel like this was some really strong German dice rolling plus just about a perfect scenario for the list, no reserves, plus being lengthwise on a table is the ultimate situation for Elephant/Stug combo. Personally would love to see this German list rematch mission against Jon's choice of D-Day Americans! Is it just Soviets, or is this German list/table/mission combo too strong? Also love the idea at the end of having Jake take attacker role and use Stug Begleit as intended!
Hey! I have a question about the Radio Operator unit. Online and the rule book haven’t helped at all and I like how it looks (Hit the Beach set) and I can’t find out if it does anything, which would make taking a Panzerfaust instead just a better option right? Great Battle report as always!

Looks like about a 5.2% chance he killed one single IS2 from that shooting; killing both being immeasurably small chance, as far as dice wargaming goes.
smoke is a requirement for Soviet attacks. the elephant and 88s would only have 1 turn before being overwhelmed ( unless deployed further back). Soviets need to dash like crazy to punch through the German lines; losses be damned
@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall Think you guys would be willing to give them a try? I use to have a Grey Wolf Hetzer list and I have been waiting a /very/ long time to be able to use my Hetzers again. 39:30 shouldn`t you reroll that save throw due to IS-2 gun being brutal?
I was under the impression that if part of the stand/tank was visible outside of the forest it does not get concealment in version 4.
That is correct Alphanerd, the thing with leaving a part out of the woods are a V3 leftover.

As of right now you still have to use the old V3 Blitzkrieg book and the EW conversion info for V4.
