- Today we take a look at how I paint my Flames of War German Infantry. These miniatures belonged to the huge 21. Panzer boxset I was sent to review and is the first of many videos to come. This video will go through every step of how these Flames of War Germans were painted, from painting the basic German WW2 Uniform, to the German equipment as well as the famous Splinter Camouflage. Be sure to comment with your thoughts on the guide and if you'll be using this Flames of War Painting Guide in the future. Huge thanks goes out to Battlefront and specifically Chris for sending me out these samples.

I'm pleasantly surprised at the sculpts of these plastic Panzergrens. I'm a huge metal Battlefront fan boy but I can see that BF have made huge improvements on these and I think they do look very nice indeed 🎉
They are rather old at this point...the figures originally appeared in the Open Fire box. BF had a period where they made the best 15mm metals, like the Soviet infantry. I was not a fan of the big lip figures, nor the new same faced 3d designed minis they make now.
I was painting my own set of Grenadiers from the Hit the Beach boxed set, and wanted a background video to paint with. This hit the spot, thank you kindly.
Thanks so much for watching! I'm glad it was helpful and that you were able to put it to good use 🙂
Hello! Was looking for some quality guides as I picked painting back up after 10+ years. This was the first really good video to catch my eye. Thank you for this, got some good tips and experimentation out of it.
WOW, thanks for the lovely feedback and comment 🤩 welcome back to the hobby and my channel! What FOW minis did you decide to grab?
Wow it’s your 20mm+ style translated down to 15mm beautifully! Love it!
Thanks a lot mate! :D
Very nice and interesting painting work! Very inspiring! Your video is also really pleasant to watch :)

Glad it was helpful and you enjoyed it. Thank you so much 🙌
Wow very cool. As always you’re the greatest…….
Amazing! I truly appreciate that 🤩🤩
You should check out their new siocast Volksgrenadiers who come with the reversible camo smocks and hoods so you have the option of Heer with sumpfmuster and splinter camo smocks or SS with all their camos for more cold weather stuff or early spring/late fall.
Are the new siocast Volksgrens nice sculpts then?
@@paintingpanzers I quite like them, I could dig up some to send you some pictures. Its mostly mp44s though so you would have to organize them as a sturm style platoon (if you are are concerned about historical ToE).
What size brushes do you use?
Size 0 brush buddy. The brand of brush I use is a Rosemary and Co Kolinsky Sable. I'll amend my description for future videos to include brush info 👍
Very well done. 👍
I would like to see some of the ugly looking vehicles of the 21st Panzer-Division box set. Yeah, they are all ugly. So I don't care which comes next. 😉
Hahaha OK mate, I'll paint up one of those ugly beasts 😉 cheers dude!
Please you can't just say Vallejo German uniform as the color as there is such a color and it is used for early war tunics. It is totally different to the one you would actually want to use here which is German Field Grey.
Vallejo German Uniform 920 as a base and then mixed with Vallejo Green Grey 886 for your layer/highlight will give a similar result to the AK paints. I know this as ive used this technique in the past. I just prefer AK paints for their application more than the actual paint colour itself.
Use a bit of initiative Greg.. Jesus.
@thomashood155 grow up! If you choose to use my Lord's name in vain I hope your life with him is in order
@gregbradfield1686 alright lads, it's just a video. I only want happy and fun times in the comments section 🤩
