Ughh Ikr?! People need to understand that Bisexuals are NOT more liable to cheat than anybody else, simply because they are attracted to more than one gender. It's like if a woman in a straight relationship with a man finds another man attractive, that doesn't mean she's going to leave her husband for the other man ( I mean she could, but that's got nothing to do with sexuality- that's simply being an asshole.)
As a gay guy, I really don't get the constant hate, hostility and gate keeping towards bi people. Or even between bi people and pan people. It doesn't matter if you're gay, bi, pan, ace, aro, literally whatever it is, you're valid. You can't go around promoting pride if it's only your kind of pride, because we're all in this together. LGBT solidarity is something that should be a universal belief between us all. 🏳️🌈
My favorite bi meme was saying when you're single "you're not bisexual, you're bi yourself" and that slapped me right across my beautifully bisexual face
I don’t understand the weirdness surrounding dating bisexuals if you’re straight. I’m straight and my ex boyfriend literally told me in the middle of a dinner party and we were both so casual about it that we were giggling afterwards outside about the whole ordeal. We were literally sat at a table full of people eating and he turns to me and grabs my hand and says “I need to tell you something.” “Okay.” “I’m bisexual” *blink, blink* “Okay.” “Is that alright?” “LOL yes!” He later told me that the reason he told me then was because we were specifically having dinner with his really close friends and he felt safe telling me with them near. I just feel sad that he thought it’d bother me at all! We did break up but on good terms :) He was my first boyfriend and he was a good one! :D
The amount of negativity towards bisexuals from both gay people and straight people is so weird to me Like we both like women/men why tf are you mad???
The erasure is awful. As are all of the lesbians who have rejected me solely based on my sexuality. Like, there are tons of reasons to reject me. Choose one that doesn’t make you a crappy person.
That's probably because of bisexuality having a spectrum and them not knowing where you stand on it. I always thought I was straight but kept developing some type of fascination with female friends. My go to are males. I can only see myself in the future with a man, but I do be feeling things for women. I just don't pursue them for relationships because I don't want to find out mid way that it's not enough for me, nor do I want to break someone's heart.
that doesn't make someone a crappy person any more than a trans person wanting to only date another trans person, or a black person wanting to date another black person, does. god forbid someone want to date someone else in their own demographic.
Literally feel so bad for bisexual people need to grow up who cares how little or how much gay someone is... All that should matter is whether or not you reciprocate those feelings.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but if you identify as bisexual and you are in love with someone of the opposite gender that does not make you any less bi! If you prefer the opposite gender then you aren’t any less bi! You are bi and amazing!
It wasn’t until my second year of high school when I realised how christian-washed my primary school was. We were not ONCE taught anything about the LGBTQ+ community which caused many people to make homophobic/transphobic comments or just be really confused about it. On my last week of year 6, my friend told our group that I was bisexual, at that very moment a teacher walked in who we knew was a VERY devoted christian (she told bible stories every single day etc.) she heard when my friend said and said - and I quote - “I don’t think that’s very appropriate right now, you are in year 6, you should not be talking about that”...We were ready to punch her in the face. After that, the people we told who were in that group began to avoid me and not talk to me - even my best friend. I felt like a horrible person and began to lose control of my feeling and block everyone out. I now have known mental health issues such as anxiety and slight depression. I think LGBTQ+ youth need more respect and we need to chill on Christian-washing schools.
I feel a lot of empathy for people like you who have had to go through things like this. I was extremely lucky to have a supportive school with an LGBTQ+ club (that consisted of about half the students and a lesbian teacher), so I don't know what it's like, but I support you 100%.

My parents did a really good job explaining sexuality variation to my siblings and me. One way they simplified it when we were kids was “A crush is a crush. Different people just get crushes on different types of people.” I think some people try to act like lesbian crushes, gay crushes, bisexual crushes, pansexual crushes, or straight crushes are all different but we’re all just cute humans having cute crushes.
@Purple moon I’m so glad you’ve been able to figure things out and be confident in yourself! But yes I do agree that more parents should be open about all sexualities. I’m hoping newer generations of parents will be better with that.
I know! It's like the thing we've said, "Love is love", but some people still fail to realize that. If it is a gay crush, if it's a lesbian crush, if it's a bi crush- it's still a crush. It's a cute little crush and it's amazing.
Fun fact: I actually accidentally came out through "I kissed a girl" when I was 14... I asked one friend of mine if we could put the song on (thecover from Glee: we were jamming out to the serie's music) and she suddenly was like "I don't really see the appeal in kissing a girl"; I paused akwardly, and so she straight up asked me "why are you being so quiet all of a sudden? Fun fact, Bismuth is a character in Steven Universe. She's a blacksmith who makes tools, and she has rainbow hair and a rainbow gem too. Her character development was phenomenal as well.
I literally just said this aloud when he was talking about Bismuth. My husband and I used Steven Universe to open up the conversation about gender identity and what pronouns are in relationship to gender, how some people don’t belong in the gender they were born, soooo many things were able to be gently explained and understood through that amazing show. We are an extremely open family and try to be very open and available to our kids, but we want conversations to happen organically instead of being brought up by us. SU allowed us to do that. Love that show, and love my kind, tolerant, sweet, open, and loving children.
Another fun fact: Bismuth is as well the only non-hazardous lower p-block element, and is used as treatment for poisoning by the hazardous elements (like Mercury, Arsenic, etc).

I think it’s also important to point out that even if you are “greedy” and have more than one partner, that’s okay too. As long as you’re doing it ethically, being polyamorous or otherwise non-monogamous is fine, no matter what sexuality you identify as. Now obviously it’s not cool to assume that somebody is into threesomes just because they’re bi, but if somebody wants to have relationships with multiple people, there’s nothing wrong with that. Also, I will never understand why there are straight people who are so opposed to having bisexual partners. I’m a straight person who has had relationships with both straight guys and a bi guy and while obviously they were different because people are different, his sexuality was basically a non-factor in our relationship. Literally the only time it ever came up was when he chose to disclose it when we first started talking and sometimes when he would talk about past partners, they would be guys.
@@kriokay8003 polyamorous refers to romantic relationships, while non-monogamous is like an umbrella term, which does include romantic relationship as well, but can also be only sexual relationships

This all the way!!!

What is gatekeeping I genuinely want to know?
Thank you!
Thank you for this because as a pansexual I’m out trying to just exist and trying to live everyone but people keep telling me I’m not real

I don’t understand the weirdness surrounding dating bisexuals if you’re straight. I’m straight and my ex boyfriend literally told me in the middle of a dinner party and we were both so casual about it that we were giggling afterwards outside about the whole ordeal.
We were literally sat at a table full of people eating and he turns to me and grabs my hand and says
“I need to tell you something.”
“Okay.”
“I’m bisexual”
*blink, blink* “Okay.”
“Is that alright?”
“LOL yes!”
He later told me that the reason he told me then was because we were specifically having dinner with his really close friends and he felt safe telling me with them near. I just feel sad that he thought it’d bother me at all! We did break up but on good terms :) He was my first boyfriend and he was a good one! :D
The amount of negativity towards bisexuals from both gay people and straight people is so weird to me
Like we both like women/men why tf are you mad???
The erasure is awful. As are all of the lesbians who have rejected me solely based on my sexuality. Like, there are tons of reasons to reject me. Choose one that doesn’t make you a crappy person.
I'm crying omfg
That's probably because of bisexuality having a spectrum and them not knowing where you stand on it. I always thought I was straight but kept developing some type of fascination with female friends. My go to are males. I can only see myself in the future with a man, but I do be feeling things for women. I just don't pursue them for relationships because I don't want to find out mid way that it's not enough for me, nor do I want to break someone's heart.
that doesn't make someone a crappy person any more than a trans person wanting to only date another trans person, or a black person wanting to date another black person, does. god forbid someone want to date someone else in their own demographic.

Different people just get crushes on different types of people.”
I think some people try to act like lesbian crushes, gay crushes, bisexual crushes, pansexual crushes, or straight crushes are all different but we’re all just cute humans having cute crushes.
Exactly

Do you actually like girls?" to which I replied "I think so". She was pretty cool about it, saying "ok" and continuing to dance

So, can you kindly make me understand what's difference between pansexual and bisexual? İ don't like putting labels on me and İ was attracted to both girls and guys. Not attracted like "I wanna have sex with that person" but "I would like to plan marriage with that person" kind of attraction.
Panda hekayəsi the best explanation my pan friend gave me was
"Bisexuals are attracted to both genders, pansexuals are attracted to people despite their gender"
*"so finger guns like the flannels"*
me, a finger guns bisexual whose wardrobe choices consist mostly of flannels: 👁👄👁
Also me, an awkward thumbs up bi with an unnecessary number of oversized sweaters...

Do people expect a solid answer when they ask why someone is LGBTQ+? I'm pretty sure everyone would just go "idk I just am".

My 17 Yr old sis came out to me as bi a while ago, she basically just came in and said "Let's just say I don't like Avril laveigne bc she's a good singer, I'm Bi"
The past few days I've just been remembering all the pins- all the times she's cuffed her jeans-all the times she's wore flannel shirts and oversized hoodies and done finger guns and today in school I just shouted "I'M NOT THE ONLY BI ONE IN THE FAMILY"
Legit-
Me: I’m bi
My friend: Wait, you’re lesbian?
Me: No-
Her: Don’t liiiiiiiikke meeeeeeee
Me: I give up, yeah, okay, geez.
Idk what she think I am I’m all BI myself at this point rip

My mum is biphobic because in her opinion “being bi just hurts people” and this was really validating honestly
Hopefully she'll wake up soon. Meanwhile, I have a spare mama hug, if you need it. ❤️🙏🌈

Ah, I get what she means but it’s also a stigma :(
No, being biphobic just hurts people, she used the wrong term.
