The one talking about how that “everything that has a rainbow in it now belongs to the gays” argument made me think of a conversation I had with my mother as a closeted Bisexual, me standing there while she gets all riled up about gays and rainbows I then almost cried 😙✌🏻
I'm sorry to hear that. The NHS rainbow in the pandemic really threw me. I get the hope and God's promise and all that, but the rainbow was clearly already taken.
"My wife's superpower us realizing that I'm having fun and then shutting that bullshit down." You know what is depressing? My husband is straight and he grew up thinking he would meet someone, get married, they probably wouldn't like each other very much or share interests and that was how it would be. Like??? Why would anyone settle for that? Me and my hubby are each other's number one cheer leaders for following our passions and doing things that make us excited. And I love that so much.
I can 100% understand why people can end up in those kinds of unsupportive or unhappy relationships, given the huge pressures put on them by friends, family and society regarding amatonormativity, narrow gender ecpectations, etc....? But it really is sad 😔 So much lost potential. I'm super glad this commenter found someone with whom they can share humour & mutual support! Both my younger sisters are married to awesome guys, and I'm so happy for them... Have to admit the thought of the kinds of unfulfilling & even dangerous relationships they COULD perhaps have ended up in (particularly given the gender interaction norms that were modeled to us by our religious parents) still scares me whenever I think about it? Wish more people were that fortunate, and that wise in their choices...
When i finally said "i have a crush on my bestfriend (girl)" my mom basically said she's been planning our wedding since we first met even before i came out 😂
Hello everyone, a boy I like asked me out and the jumpers I ordered from Jamie's Teespring arrived sooner than expected, and I do love being alive, have a great evening :) EDIT: I totally forgot to update y'all. We've gone on three dates (not sure if that's the right word) so far and we've done stuff together in a group as well. We've also talked and chatted a lot. It's great! I'm not experienced at all with this stuff, this is the first time I've had any kind of romantic relationship with anybody, so I'm unsure about a lot of things but really excited about what will happen next :)
@@zeus-wp6oz I hope so too! This is the first time anyone's ever asked me out or even liked me back, and it feels extra special because we're both guys, so I'm really excited!
*Most not okay straight parents:* You made a guy friend? Time for a wedding! *My not okay straight parents:* You have a genetic predisposition to be straight because we are straight, but just in case, we will ask if it is sexual every time you want to hang out with your friends, regardless of their gender. Aren’t we accepting?
My parents are both right handed. When both my brother and i turned out to be lefties they were surprised. Neither parent had any lefties in their families. Genetic predisposition blown to hell.
I have a bunch of guy friends and every time I mention one of them my mom asks "Are you dating? Do you like him?? DOES HE LIKE YOU!???" Like holy hell, platonic relationships exist.
Same thing but with my aunt, when I visit family all they ask about is "how is school going?" and "are you dating anyone yet?" and it's honestly so frustrating (and double since I'm ace and don't want to date)
I told my parents 4 years ago that I’m a lesbian, and last year I mentioned my guy friend, and my dad said “are you together?” I said “I don’t exactly like guys, dad.” Then my dad said “well idk sometimes people’s preferences change.” Lol
Hahah know those feels. Moms face always falls and theres a little disappointed swear word as I say the words "-he's married" when talking about any male friend of mine.
When I first started playing Sims, a lot of them just ended up being gay. Once, when I wasn't that clear on how the game worked, a female Sim I created ended up liking one of the standard characters and I eventually had her move in, not knowing that she had a family. Occasionally her husband and children would show up and berate my Sim.
The thing that’s bad about that sign being in an elementary school is that they missed an ‘s’ in the word ‘kindness’, shows they can’t teach your kids to spell
The elementary school reminds me of my school. At my school, a bunch of the teachers have rainbow stickers with the words "Love is Love" on them. They have them on there name cards, there desks, etc. I think that is really awesome. 👍👍
God: Love everyone like yourself Trans-/Homophobe "Christian": But what about this girl, dressing up as a guy and dating a girl??? God: What about EVERYONE did you not understand?
I made a character named Jamie. I didn’t think of her as bi until he said that but... she actually does seem like she’s bi. As in the bi-est vibes I have ever come across. What the-
I don't know why but my parents were concerned about me because I preferred to play with boys then girls and they even sent me to a "play school" to hopefully get me to have girl friends. I started to realise that my parents were worried about me so I forced myself to make friends with girls I didn't like. It's only now that I see how horrible and abusive that really is. And another thing my dad really wanted me to have a boyfriend even though I felt nothing for anyone (I'm ace/aro) but because I care about my dad so I again forced myself into a romantic relationship with my best friend. (I was 7 years old when all of this happen)
This comment made me remember by best friend in high school had a literal contract for dating (made by her father) saying stuff like wait 6 years for processing with no contact and a fair amount of threats. I'm only realizing now how overprotective and awful that was
that mother seemed really vindictive and unhinged. She also gave off possessiveness vibes, like the wife cannot influence her son, because that's the mother's job to control her son, and crap like that
Man, I've been this kind of stuff with my family for ages and they still don't get it. Once my sister was taking about a really nice, good looking guy and the conversation was like Me: "Is he single?" Her: "no, he is married" Me: "Does he have a brother?" Her: "Unfortunately just a sister" Me: "Is *she* single?" Her: "Ahahah, silly you" I am still in awe at how much you can say in front of your family and they still don't see that I like women xD...
they probably don’t really think about anything other than straight people existing because they are probably genuinely straight and don’t encounter non-straightness that much. amusingly, gay people can forget straight people exist sometimes, too, when they’re used to hanging out with gay people.
"If you're gonna be offensive, at least put some effort into it." But then they would probably get offended at the thought of putting effort into things.
Last year i tried to broke up with my girlfriend, but she said "no", so we're still together. But that's because we're both women, understand each other completely and are too cozy having a partner that supports and cares for us.
I saw a bumper sticker in a pickup truck's rear window, with that silhouette of a nude woman - you know, that really classy one you always coincidentally see driven by a specific sort of person - and the letters L, B, G, T for "Lesbians, Guns, Beer and Trump." I tells ya, my gorge was risin' like the South could only dream of.
I also like telling straights if they want to argue the "phobia" "point" as being psychological phobia, and point out that in science a phobic material repels a substance, such as hydrophobic. Hydrophobic paint isn't "afraid" of water 😂😂
So true. Some guy replied to be with some homophobic stuff and I told him not to be homophobic in the comments. A few seconds later, one of his troll buddies told me to "stop being heterophobic and controlling."
Hey, still, not all straight people are horrible. I'm a bi woman married to a lovely straight husband and have straight friends that are great people, who are very supportive of lgbt+ rights. But great that you discovered your sexuality, good for you :)
Jamie: Comment below what you are! I am... Bless Trump... Me: I am... Bless. Me: Me: *instantly regrets saying it because I don't want to be blessed since that goes against my demonic aesthetic*
I dated this dude in highschool who asked me to let him break up with me and I jsut told him I couldn't stop him. Like I cant make anyone do anything? I just kept thinking it takes two to date but only one to breakup? Idk im so lost
Phobia: an irrational fear of *OR AVERSION TO* something People who say "why would I be scared of gay people haha" are just not bothered to look up the meaning of the word phobia I guess
Truth is most homophobes are closeted homosexuals themselves, normal straight people are NOT threatened by LGBT lifestyle. Example; A man who waits for a gay man to enter a restroom, then follows the gay man into the restroom to harass him for being gay is obsessed with homosexuality and likely gay themselves, only self-hating and projecting this onto the openly gay individual they follow around. Funny!
Do the straights not understand that rings only came about because a greedy ring company made it a norm because we live in an awfully capitalistic world?
Indeed, I don't want a diamond ring for my wedding. But because it's become the norm, I'll still get a wedding band to show I'm taken, but I'll have it be like a $20 fake one and we'll renew it every year on our anniversary. I just think that more romantic in my opinion
I heard somewhere that it became common because women couldnt have bank accounts, so if their husband were to left them they'd have at least something to trade for money. 🤷♀️
As a poly, yes we can. However we have to let our partner(s) know. If we get in a relationship they never knew about its the same as a man looking for other women when his wife said she didn't want that.
@@Gugugaga1673 Ew, my boyfriend and I are in an open polyamorous relationship and I keep him updated when I have a new romantic or s3xual partner, it'd feel gross to just not tell him. Because no matter what people assume, it is in fact possible to cheat in a polyamorous relationship.

The one talking about how that “everything that has a rainbow in it now belongs to the gays” argument made me think of a conversation I had with my mother as a closeted Bisexual, me standing there while she gets all riled up about gays and rainbows
I then almost cried 😙✌🏻

People who say "why would I be scared of gay people haha" are just not bothered to look up the meaning of the word phobia I guess
Truth is most homophobes are closeted homosexuals themselves, normal straight people are NOT threatened by LGBT lifestyle.
