Yakuza 2,3,5,6 there are different cities. There’s actually 5 cities in yakuza 5,One for each playable character (though akiyama and haruka’s chapter is set in sotenbori which was already in yakuza 2.) Y3 had a large majority of the game in Osaka, while yakuza 2 was split between Sotenbori and Kamorucho. You also go to Hiroshima in Y6.
Just finished this and damn the gameplay was fun and the characters and story was soooo good and well written. And looked amazing on Series X where I played it. Cannot recommend enough.

any idea what the resolution is for this? Have they finally broken the 1080p barrier yet? Yakuza kwami 2 looked great but i was disappointed it wasn't 1440p at least on the Pro.
I’ve never play a Yakuza game before. I know a lot of ppl love them. Is it possible to turn the flashy colors off when fighting?? If so, I think I would be more down to try these games out. I know, it may sound weird, but it’s more immersive imo. And that’s what I like.
I will absolutely buy this if it comes to PC. People saying that Yakuza games are overrated clearly don't realize the fact that most of the masterpieces on the Sony platform are not available elsewhere. PC/XBOX gamers don't have The Last Of Us, Uncharted and the likes to play, hence Yakuza is the best "Asian martial arts" setting game since Sleeping Dogs(and even more realistically since Dream Cast emulators were able to emulate Shenmue I/II well on PC - probably 10 years).
The contact-hardening shadows look great, but it's a 1-shadow-per-object thing so it looks weird as hell when you walk into distance of multiple light sources, kinda like the shadows in Gears of War 1 and 2. Also, the contrast is cranked way way up, I dunno if this could be fixed in settings. Edit: Also the SSAO is laughable. It seems like everyone 1 foot near a wall has a cartoon outline around them.
Seems like a great game, too bad it's only available on PC though a shitty client (not saying that bc of the hype, Epic is pretty terrible from personal experience)
Great review as always, man. Also, thanks for mentioning that you get it a few days earlier if you pre-order it through PSN. I was planning on buying it day one from Best Buy since I still have my GCU membership, until October. But now I'm gonna compare and contrast the digital and physical releases to see if either comes with any worthwhile bonuses.
Playing through this atm. Really enjoying being back in that world after playing all the mainline games. I can't get away with the English voice acting though, always play through in Japanese.
The Engish VA cast did so well, and they chose well for the characters. I felt it would be unfair to dismiss them just for the sake of purity and I'm glad I chose to let it ride. It gave me a chance to purely focus on the action on screen and find it a bit more relatable regardless of the difference in culture. I love the games regardless but I'm happy they are making sure to be meticulous about who is involved in the games. I want more people to see the beauty of these games and I know that the language barrier had been a turn off for some of my friends in the past so even if I got them hooked through a dub that then made them so invested that they didn't care whether the past games had one or not because they just NEEDED to go play them then good, I want that. I want more people playing, there's literally no reason to not want more options.

Sounds like this game is running for the ACG game of the year 2019.
12:38 It just goes to show you how easy it is to tail and stalk someone in real life, and how hard it is in video games.
Another great review ACG, i always appreciate your in depth analysis on everything, was waiting since yesterday when you would upload this!!
The game looks incredible
I love the series and this review was an icing on the cake
Cant wait for when my physical copy arrives!!
I just purchased this online on ps4 pro(becuase of your review), I did not buy sinking city and I don't think I will either in the future. Before this I purchased days gone, resident evil 2, read dead redemption 2,GOD of war. I did not buy battlefield V. We all have our unique taste for games. I have NOT purchased a sports game in like 10 to 15 years..lol
I did buy battlefield 1 when it came out. Played it for like 18 months strait. Most fun I have had in a while. It was the game that brought me back to gaming.. then the disaster of battlfield V came🤔
As a huge yakuza fan I already bought it but came here anyway! Your vids are always top notch!
I still need to finish Yakuza 0 and Kiwami, will most likely pick this up in a few months, looks fantastic and super fun
Did you get this game yet? I believe it’s on sale now ^^
It was the Yakuza named Hamura whose Voice Actor was imprisoned for the drug scandal and replaced. His VA and Face Likeness was replaced. The actor for Yagami is the same.
I hope it also comes out on PC, Kiwami 2's dragon engine looked fantastic there
Already bought it so why am I here? I know! For your amazing reviews of course!! I Can’t Wait for this game!!!!
A Rebel With A Cause not sure yet, I’ll hopefully have some impressions soon, it comes out Friday but I did preorder 😊
So u bought it and can’t wait for it???🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
love the yukuza games will definitely be buying this
Understand it's slightly more serious in tone but I hope they have crazy side stories..even the sleazy stuff from the yakuza games were good as it just stopped short of being mad..I hope this games has those fun side stories
You, Dreamcastguy and Happy Gamer Console are the only opinions that matter when it comes to gaming reviews. Angry Joe is more theatrical and entertaining at best.
I had no idea this game was from the Yakuza creators. Instant buy for me
Why it isn't called Judge Eyes?
Skipping this one on PS4, waiting for PC version to release. I've had enough of 30fps on the new engine.
Is there to be a pc release
Pc never was good at all.
This is ps4 only exclusive
@@vanhalen4life1 ps4 exclusives come to PC all the time
No ads in this video. Should I assume that your channel has been demoninitized? If so, that is unfortunate. ACG has the best reviews.
Ya sadly
I remember the first time I came to your channel, oh boy, I did not understand what the hell you were talking about, but with time, I began to understand the way your Reviews work and your way of expressing the reviewed content with words.
Great review, and I'll be glad to buy it, because I am a huge Yakuza fan :) .
PS: Still, I have to focus to follow your review, otherwise, I'd lose track of what you're talking about, hahahahahaa.
Are you gonna be reviewing ritual of the night? Been crossing my fingers on that
I've been looking for a Sleeping Dogs similar game and I've been thinking about buying this game ever since I saw it during E3. Kinda forgot about it till now that I saw it's on sale on PSN, I'm gonna get it
“WHO’S THERE?”
*Yagami dressed as a vampire is hiding behind a telephone pole*
“Must’ve been my imagination.”
Did I hear a "The last dragon" reference
Leave it to you to reference Alan Shure from Boston Legal "Bad Police, Bad"! (actually that is from the last season of The Practice where they first introduced the character of Alan Shure) That was awesome! Thanks. I appreciate it.
Tailing missions? Who got Assassins Creed in my Yakuza game? Also I want this game on PC really bad.
But I still have Yakuza Kiwami, Kiwami 2 and Fist of the North Star to finish. I can wait.
Cant wait to play this waiting on my pre order
Anyone ever notice in the Yakuza games, there's always one dude that looks way more realistic than everyone else?
This game seems to have a lot of them
El Dandy yeah. But it’s probably because that one dude/dudette is modeled after the actor playing him/her
kuze
Man I wish the main character could dress up like Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara! in bartender clothes lifting vending machines
I love your videos and your rating system is seriously helpful unlike many other reviewers.
The least Sega could do was to create a new city or depict a real one.As much as I love Yakuza games,I have gotten tired of kumurocho.
They already did that in several games already.
"if you don't like me" whaaaaat? Who couldn't like you man, you're brilliant, extremely hard working, detailed, honest. If someone doesn't like you, they don't like themselves.
Thanks for all you do. (Embraces your nuts)
Would buy it now if I didn't have this gigantic backlog (incl. all the Yakuza games). Damn fine review as usual though. These companies should pay you, I'm sure you're sending plenty of customers their way!
Support the developer buy the game
aaron sas dude he has all Yakuza games in his backlog
For me, the Yakuza games are always greater than the sum of their parts. This sounds pretty good.
any idea what the resolution is for this? Have they finally broken the 1080p barrier yet? Yakuza kwami 2 looked great but i was disappointed it wasn't 1440p at least on the Pro.
On sale on PSN for $23.99 US until October 8th.
Im ready for this tonight. Pre order on deck.
Because quantities are so limited...
How was the game?
M Giebus lol okay?
This game is really good haven't put it dpwn yet
@@CpTn_QwRk As in pre orders are obsolete and bad for the industry
Another awesome review. I picked this up and can’t wait to play, I just have to finish spider man first.
I’ve never play a Yakuza game before. I know a lot of ppl love them.
Is it possible to turn the flashy colors off when fighting??
If so, I think I would be more down to try these games out. I know, it may sound weird, but it’s more immersive imo. And that’s what I like.
I felt that way too at the beginning. But I feel that it has it's own charm now.
Yakuza like gameplay. Yakuza world. Yakuza engine. I’m in
This game is underrated; nobody in my town even mentions it.
Man yakuza now judgement... OMG, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
PS4 or PS4 Pro?
I have problems with characters hair in Kiwami 2, DMC5, etc. (it looks....strange)
On PS4 Slim
This is a game that really deserves a PC release! Great review as always!
Agreed. I'm tired of buying every game they do twice. Wish it came to pc at launch lol
Never played Yakuza. What's best one to start with? Think I'll get this in a month or so if I like Yakuza
Just play this and then think about the others if you like it
18:03 Is that Daniel Dae Kim?
its a shame they changed the face of the guy who did drugs, he looked so much more unique and memorable
Great work as always! Now get me that review for "The sunken city" :)
Seems like a great game, too bad it's only available on PC though a shitty client (not saying that bc of the hype, Epic is pretty terrible from personal experience)
You can get the sinking city on Xbox
@@creationofroses90 I don't own an Xbox
@@Crazelord91 pirate until it comes to steam or just watch on TH-cam I guess
Crazelord91 I'm sorry I didn't know
Is it worth $30? It's on sale for ps5 version right now, also I have never played a yakuza game
You bet
Magnum PI and Castle? My two favourite shows. I like it.
Hey acg are you doing a bloodstained ritual of the night review. Your reviews are credible and thorough. If so when can we expect to watch it. Thanks.
dont have it
@@ACGreviews thanks for the reply back. I asked them on discord directly to the 505 publisher person to send you a review code. Nonsense. Their loss I know a lot of gamers that look to you as a game analyst to make their choices.
Hey wanted to say about that Spider-Man review that that was purely my frustration because of the game mechanics took me about two or three hours to get used to it now I love the game
