I just love seeing friends succeed! I met Grant, Richard and Brit almost a decade ago here in Van and to have seen how far they've come and how humble they are is so rad!! Seeing their hometown show in Victoria next month and their bigger show in Van in November. SO PUMPED!!
We actually met Grant, the guitar player, at the camping later that night. Dude bought us drinks and had to walk to the hotel at 5 am.. the hotel was 45 minutes away :D Very cool dude. I wish him and this band nothing but the best.
The band is so fucking tight and in the pocket! Amazing after all that downtime from the virus bullshit. And Brittney still showing why they nicknamed her, Brittney Slayes. She even hits those high notes with perfection. Hope they come around to my neck of the woods before my city decides to lock us all down because of another virus variant.
Unleash the Archers realize what made Maiden so awesome. It was the personality in all the songs. Many bands can play circles around that old metal technically but they forget that all the flash in the world doesn't matter if the song doesn't feel like a song. I'll watch some kid on TH-cam play arpeggios at a hundred miles an hour, I listen to music to be brought on a little journey. Also doesn't hurt that UtA are very talented on top of that.
This band is really amazing! She is one of the best metal singers ever!!! Metal played with virtuose that made us proud!!! Finally we can see them before big crowds!

Love the minimalistic drumset, very unusual for this style of music. Other bands cram a gazillion of toms, cymbals and gizmos on stage, making the drumset into a fortress (which, admittedly, looks absolutely awesome ;-)) that costs a metric shitton of money, and this guy is like... fuck it, I'll just pull it off with an off-the-shelf kit :-D
@@wynydis Yeah it makes sense, but if you watch their in-studio performance of Awakening, he has a similar setup. He just likes to have a small kit in general I guess
Some drummer just dont have a shit with heavy loaded drumkit, I usually drop quick my gig bag so I can go back to the car to help my drummer with all his.. JESUS KEVIN DO YOU REALLY NEED ALL THIS CYMBALS!!!

For those talking about “rust” - I think it was a monitor issue where they couldn’t hear the backing track (and possibly each other). :) At one point you see Brittney motioning to turn it up and they’re pretty tight after that. Unfortunately a very normal part of live performances especially at big festivals where you have less control over the sound.
Yeah, there was obviously something wrong at first. They sounded disjointed and everywhere. Once The Matriarch started they were suddenly like a whole different band, not just playing wise, but they were generally in a better state of mind and having much more fun lol.
Rock in Rio é pouco filé pra muito osso. Infelizmente pro Medina e Cia só existe Iron Maiden e Sepultura (com mais algum convidado), e olhe lá. Se nem o Angra que é a outra banda brasileira de metal de maior expressão ganha um espaço no palco mundo, que dirá uma banda relativamente desconhecida até pra quem gosta de power metal.

Considering how long it's been that they have been performing I think they did pretty good. Still Brittney Slays everything she sings. 👍 the mix could be better though 😉.
I think they'll play it in their longer sets, just hard with so many songs to fit into 45 minutes... Alex is something else though! (In a good way haha)
Back after a long brake and the mix certainly did not help, but this was still awesome 🤘 😎 Got tickets for consecutive shows in Germany in November... giddy like a teen to finally see them live
With such an amazing musicianship amongst them the only thing missing them on this show was a more energetic approach towards the public, but that's really difficult to do particularly at that time of day when you're opening to the bigger names, so that's also the public's "fault". Aside from that, awesome as always

Oof, the backing track for the vocals and Brittney herself are not in sync at all. They kick ass as always, but you can tell not touring in some time has made them rusty. Saw them a couple years, when they were actively touring, and they sounded amazing. Though like she said... first day back. These kinds of things should be expected.
Agreed you can tell she's out of practice too her breathing between and before notes is really weak. She can't hold long notes without running out of breathe compared to before. I'm sure once she gets back up to speed again she'll be in tip top form
@@marielecastan2678 In terms of hitting the notes yes (with a hiccup here and there) in terms of endurance not really. It's very noticeable at the beginning of the set. Where her breathing is off and she can't hold the notes as long as she usually does or she's panting a bit during notes trying to catch her breathe. But that is mainly because they haven't played live in a minute but like i said once they get back up to speed and that breathing power comes back she's gonna be amazing!
@@Shoji86 I agree with you! Britt has lots of stamina and I think her panting was due to the fact that she hasn't performed live for a while. I sing too and when I'm tired belting and hitting high notes is even more difficult than usual. Belting and mixed voice is already freaking hard and it is even worse if you don't feel alright and fully energized.

Flat mix ,but excellent performance. They definately deserve a seat in bigger fests ( Wacken / Hellfest etc. ) .
