    These Frenchies are so underrated and under appreciated over here. Having owned a few it is so chill and fun, yet it will let you drive for 500KMs without ever feeling tired like the Japanese sedans. Something about their seats and their ride has a certain layer of refinement built into them.

    Last year I recommended this Captur for my parents, traded with Honda HR-V and guess what, they are super happy with the fuel consumption and 5 years free maintenance from Renault! Basically I have also driven this Captur on the expressway, and it feels way more better than Japanese cars, 1.2l turbocharged engine and suspension is superb, just a huge let down on the gearbox. Maybe my parents just used to the feeling of the typical Japanese automatic gearbox, and then they can't get used of this dual clutch.

    They are such lovely, comfortable cars with so much personality
    The French through automotive history, have made someone of the most innovative cars in the world and they are famous for Comfort I find them very durable as well If looked after like anything else.

    another thing which is against it is ,majority of malaysians absolutely WORSHIP resale value....and obviously these cars will tank so bad u gonna cry...but number one deterrent is just the after sale service...lack of service centers...yes i know it has warranty for 5 years , but if every time i need to claim something small ,its gonna take a month , then the whole car ownership experience will be very sour , no matter how lovely the car is to drive...Renault France need to invest heavily in asia generally if they want to succeed here , IF !
    they need to take dealership and service all under their own arms and not 3rd party license it to incompetant entity with a low budget ...basic stuff really...

    used Peugeot 508 is so cheap right now. I wonder what is your take on the maintenance, spare parts and the overall ownership experience for this car and whether it is a good choice to buy Peugoet 508 compared to the alternatives.

      Renault is sharing the same service center as Nissan, since in Malaysia they are under Tan Chong Motors.

      Using it two years without issues. Still can climb Genting and Cameron. From JB to Bukit Kayu Hitam also no issue. Feels so good when driving high speed on the NSE.

      Renault not so bad compared to Peugeot & Citroen. Renault is under Nissan anyway so maybe that makes a difference.

    I wonder what will happen to the sale of French car or EU car if Malaysia plan to retaliate by taxing or banning some of EU product's. Since EU will start ban of oil plam in biodiesel soon.

    • @germaineliew2012
      @germaineliew2012 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think there's any political agenda behind banning palm oil in EU(I haven't read much into it so correct me if I'm wrong.) I guess it's mainly because the EU is going hard on electrification on vehicles these days.

    • @ycs1466
      @ycs1466 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@germaineliew2012 ya EU want to do electrification on all their city car, but its all got benefit to their big power player. Where does the electricity come from? A lot of their city using coal and nuclear, so where does the waste go to? * The power companies want to monopoly all the sector...
