Slash definitely uses the tone I like, real bluesy stuff. I love it. But it's hard not to like Zakk Wyldes enthusiasm lol. Both also Top 5s for me. 1. Slash 2. Allen Collins 3. Zakk Wylde 4. Synyster Gates (I like his sweep technique) 5. Stevie Ray freakin Vaughn. (it's his blues playing)
I'm an old got now, and was at the gig with my wife whom I'm still with, I was n still am a big fan of slash and Zack, it was awesome. The sound on the day was amazing. Albert lee and Brett Michael's also performed.

It was interesting because Zakk was nearly invited to join Guns and Roses in 95, which was the same year that Slash did his first Snakepit solo album, touring it with Zakk's Pride & Glory band (who are in this video).
Can't imagine being as good as Slash and not having an ego... Dude has played with everyone from Lenny Kravitz, to B.B. King, to Michael Jackson, and even kids in music 🎵🎶 school.... Dude just loves to play....

Nowadays i find it much harder to learn slash's new solos, than zakk's. zakk was my main influence, but after pride & glory hes been on a steep descent (for me), BLS has aways been beneath his level, IMHO. which makes me thinks hes had heavy guidance from the producers on Ozzys band & P&G.
Guess what that really WAS a must-see! Seems like ZacK started having sound problems around 5:30, couldn't hear his guitar. Caused them to lose the thread but they got it back.

I’m pretty sure I was at this! ‘Night of 100 Guitars’ in 1994 at Wembley Arena. I remember after the song ended and the next band came out, slash ran back on and grabbed his cigarettes which were on the floor. 😂 pretty sure Albert Lee and Hogans Heroes played also.
The contrast in styles is awesome. Slash is so laid back and Zack running twin turbos. Both in my top 5 favorite guitar players.
Zakk has influenced my technique the most. Slash influenced my taste in guitar tone the most lol
