If you're new it's ok to roll to fill your roster a bit, but sparking is going to allow you to pick whoever you want. It all depends on how patient you are.
@@PostMortemYT gotcha, well right now I have a team of each element but there's a couple confusing things for me. One is how you actually know what team to bring on quests and also what order to put party members in. I also don't really know in you want all your summons/weapons to be one element or just the main one. I already know I've made the mistake of using all but SSR weapons as fodder, but I know I can get more later.
Normally quests have a certain element of enemies in them and the game auto-selects the appropriate element summon when you try to start them, match the suggested summons element and you should be fine. There are some exceptions but if you're doing mostly story mode you don't have to care about those yet. The order of the party members influences the skill order if you play on full auto or the charge bar generation for the ones in the lower spots so generally you put characters who don't multiattack that often in the 3rd and 4th slot. Your weapons should all be of the same element (with the exception for the Bahamut weapon) while it doesn't matter for the summons outside the main one. Don't worry about SR weapons, they are mostly fodder. If you've got more questions feel free to ask or just come on Discord. It's a bit hard to follow comment chains in here.
