Extremely unlikely. Aliens as a franchise ran out of stream right around 86. Everything the studio has tired to do with it since has been terrible. I sincerely doubt Disney will do any better, since their already struggling with another beloved sci-fi property.

HOLY CRAP; Linkara reviewed something that I've actually read! In the sequel series Batman fights Aliens in Gotham; it's pretty good; despite the ridiculous ending. There's also a Batman and Superman Versus Alien and Predator series and it SUCKS! The entire story is about explaining how Superman's stupid new portable Fortress of Solitude works and the Preds and Xenos barely contribute to the plot.
@@anirudhviswanathan3986 The comic itself looks like a mixed bag: gorgeous art and adds more context for a few scenes, but also cuts good scenes from the movie. Linkara's review though was delicious!
1:18. Maybe next Patreon review, you should look at Aliens Vs Predator-Requiem. P.S. What do you have Alien³ on? A VHS? The 1999 DVD? The 2003 Collector’s Edition/Quadrilogy DVD? Or the 2009 Blu-Ray? The Assembly Cut is on the 2003 DVD (however, due to certain circumstances, some of the audio could not be repaired so there is a special subtitle track for those scenes) and the 2009 Blu-Ray (where the audio issue has been fixed)
It took some doing, but I finally caught back up. I've trailed behind AT4W for the past year and half. Not sure why. All I know is that it felt great coming back into the fold. Linkara's optimism about the world and humanity is the kind of thing I need in my life.
Dark Horse and DC Comics actually have a pretty long history of crossovers. They also did Superman vs. Alien, Batman vs. Predator, and most recently Wonder Woman and Conan the Barbarian.
Well, In your comment about tying the origin of the Xenomorph to humanity, Here's a theory i like. David only created a singular batch, not the entire Species. There is probably like some ancient tablet explaining how to do it somewhere on the planet
since you mentioned it around 4:00 I think I’ll say this. Something I always found kinda Shocking is that Killing Joke and Death in the Family happened the Same Year, Death in the Family happenings only a few months after Killing Joke. So considering that the Canon Ending to Killing Joke is that Batman Doesn’t Kill the Joker and just puts him back in Arkham, that means that Batman is indirectly responsible, bordering on Directly Responsible for Jason Todd’s Death. and based on how Violent, Vengeful and Morose he became afterwords (even by Batman Standards), it stands to reason that’s how he saw it too. Even after the horrible things he did in Killing joke, Batman still let Joker Live... A Decision that one could argue Lead To the Killing joke. Just thought I’d put this out there, even if Linkara himself never reads it.
Okay, I'm late on this one but can we appreciate how slick the new intro is? Like, I loved the one for the 10th anniversary, with all the clips from each year, but the new graphics with lightning and choices of clips are so perfect this time around, blending old gags and new footage perfectly.
Given that teaser at the end, I'm assuming you're going to be discussing the Marvel/Phineas & Ferb crossover. If there was another animated crossover that came out before that after the buyout, I'm unfamiliar with it. And I REALLY hope you've seen more Phneas & Ferb before seeing that, since the show was usually very creative and witty with writing that could appeal to both adults and children equally, with the occasional reference that would fly way over the heads of children, but add an extra laugh for more educated parents (references to Burning Man and the Shroud of Turin spring immediately to mind). The special in question though... definitely in the bottom half of episodes, in terms of quality.
One issue I can see him having is that Hulk doesn’t become Bruce Banner when he loses his powers which I just want to point out isn’t the specials fault the version of the characters that were in the special were based off of the Marvel cartoons going on at the time and Bruce rarely appeared with him not having a character model made till the episode with the alternate timeline
Things I never thought I would hear -- that the Batman/Aliens crossover book is actually pretty good. I had no idea how they would ever make this concept work, but -- hey, as you point out, they pull it off decently enough. Sure, how and why Batman goes down there is pretty contrived, and I can smell the betrayal coming off Hyatt from a mile away (I mean, I really HOPE I'm wrong, but that little speech about how she's willing to do anything to become a woman with power. . .yeaaaah), but it's a good little horror short, and I look forward to whenever you get to issue 2!
I think he was referring to the 90's ism's of one side giant shoulder pads and ridiculous looks and names for characters pritty much anything Rob Linefeild ever done think spawn but dumber and turned up to 11
To my knowledge why this was made was because of a long string of cross overs. Dark horse wanted these kind of cross overs but had trouble getting the rights so they used alien and predator since they had them and do to the success of that they got the green light for batman vs predator. And since batman fought the predator and the predator fought the alien might as well have batman fight the alien. To the best of my knowledge that's what happened, if I'm wrong about some of it my apologies.
@@ChiefMedicPururu Infinity War was never a crossover when all the idiots in it always lived in the same goddamn universe. If it was about characters coming to meet from different separate universes, THEN it could be called a crossover.
Funny thing about the artist Bernie wrightson. He's more of an illustrator than a comic artist, having done work for the Steven King novel cycle of the werewolf, but his comic work including this book. Range from the creepshow comic from 82, a regular on Warren publishing books like creepy and famous monsters, and even some of the illustrations on the great illustrated classics books series.
"The spaceship I'm looking for is orange." The best part about this is that, because of the Silver Age, I have no way of knowing if this is just you being silly, or if it's referencing something.
*The following is the opinion of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!* [EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] "When several of your colleagues are aliens and/or utilize alien technology, spaceships just aren't all that impressive (also given the tech that Batman has access to I wouldn't be surprised if Wayne Enterprises has developed their own spacecraft)!"
Superheroes and horror make a surprisingly good genre crossover. The additional confidence and power presented by superheroes gives you more room to really play with the extent of the villain's threat. When you have a man who can actually tackle a xenomorph, you get the opportunity to show off just how much more than brute strength xenos have! Gives the ordeal a greater sense of rising action, and of chaos once the shit hits the fan.
I know it's a stretch, but it could connected to Batman: Dead End, a TH-cam fan film in which Batman goes up against The Joker, a xenomorph and a Predator.
The Alien franchise did crossovers with EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING. There were multiple official crossovers with DC, including Superman and Green Lantern, Wildstorm had them wipe out one of their super teams, Storm Watch, they crossed over with Judge Dredd (And incidentally so did Batman), there was an Aliens Vs Predator Vs Tarzan comic, pretty much anything that was vaguely popular in the late 90's and early 2000's did a crossover with Alien.
The Black Goo is similar to the substance that the Engineer in the opening drank, but that was golden and we saw what it did to him as it created life from his death. The Black Goo is it's darker more sinister counterpart as it makes seemingly only Xenomorphs as seen by two organisms who bath in it's liquid form. The Engineers made it most likely as a weapon given the dispersion manner of the ship as seen in Alien Covenant and generally the Xenomorph hives function as there is no way any ecosystem can friendly coexist or adapt well with their presence. It's a dark corruption and only could make things to destroy not to propagate life. The consequences of using such a horrible weapon was the outbreak on the world in Prometheus in which only one survivor was left. So yeah David only made his version of Xenomorph through many years of experimentation and solitude, but the overall species is by the hands of the Engineers via the black goo for any organism it comes in contact with whether in liquid or in gaseous forms develops specific traits and functions like those in the Xenomorph cycle; the acid blood, parasitic nature, physical appearances and most of all that primal unreasonable and uncontrollable rage. The Hammerpedes, Finfield, and the contaminated lifeforms on the planet in Alien Covenant shows how it affects each organism differently, but ultimately they all share the most common of features and DNA of the Xenomorphs. Thus the black goo and the Xenomorphs are very connected making them a danger to all life throughout the galaxy.
I really like this comic, too. It's not perfect, but it's good, and I honestly can't think of a better way Batman could've been introduced to the Xenomorphs.
I just love how Batman demonstrates to the Alien protags just how incompetent they are since they're basically made to be killed by Xenomorphs for our amusement whereas Batman is supposed to be good at what he does.
11:20 I whould have loved a Amanda Waller joke there XD Nice comic, good to see Batman in such a setting while being only human and not use any fancy sci-fi Tools.
Okay after some reaserch, it turns out the artist of the book, Bernie Wrightson, is the co-creator of Swamp Thing and the writer Ron Marz also wrote the comic storyline Emerald Twilight for Green Lantern...make of that what you will
7:38 Honestly, Gantry makes me think of Jean Kirstein from Attack on Titan for some reason. 10:20 The true culprit behind that alien's death... is ROCK 'N ROLL!
I really am glad to see you being positive about Alien:Resurrection. It's different from the rest, but it's B-Movie ambiance and the overall grotesque aesthetic of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who's one of my favourite directors of all time, really sell it to me ^^
"Why did Batman keep the reason for him coming down a secret for so long?" There was a short piece in the darkhorse compilation series that preceded this. It was about a wayne employee who was investigating the crash site. In the comic he talks about how a humanoid race of aliens picked up the xenomorph that eventually causes the death of the entire crew. The ship crashed into earth and the short ends with the wayne employee being killed as he finishes his report. Unfortunately I do not recall what issue it was. 14:29- Cut to Dutch in Predator shouting "KILL ME! I'M HERE! KILL ME!!"
...Just how many superheroes have fought the xenomorphs by this point?! Why aren't all the superheros sharing the info with one another by now? I mean, eventually we'd have to run out of cocky military stereotypes to throw at the aliens for cannon fodder and easy action/horror scenes, and THEN what are we gonna do?
Superman took on the Xenomorphs and the Predator? That sounds really stupid. Supes is way too OP for either race to fight him! At least with Batman it's anyone's match!

Jadow watches Linkara? Nice.
So Jadow, what do you think of the Force Awakens comic that Linkara reviewed?
@@anirudhviswanathan3986 The comic itself looks like a mixed bag: gorgeous art and adds more context for a few scenes, but also cuts good scenes from the movie.
Linkara's review though was delicious!
12:38 his name was Abel Barrett. His name was Abel Barrett
"Yes I'm counting it."
I didn't know until this video that Prometheus was part of the Alien franchise.
That thumbnail art, though. Rock & Roll? Lol
It even shows the artist's name: Dr.Crafty.
since you mentioned it around 4:00 I think I’ll say this.
_Elves._
Now I want a Green Lantern vs Aliens comic. Why haven't they done that yet?
They had one Xenomorph in the Sinestro Corps, no? Other than that, it's another missed opportunity...
Its been done....and was IN CANON

"By 1997 the comic industry had taken most of the 90's out of their system" I don't think so. Take a look at the suicide squad
Suicide Squad, the modern version not the post-World War 2 Suicide Squad, was created in the late 80s.
I think he was referring to the 90's ism's of one side giant shoulder pads and ridiculous looks and names for characters pritty much anything Rob
Linefeild ever done think spawn but dumber and turned up to 11
Exactly. Everyone knows the 90's didnt end until 2004. That's just how decades work.
For DC, the 90s didn't until Dan DiDio left last year
"Where are these kids' parents?"
Batman of ALL people should know better than to ask that.
Screw Age of Ultron, THIS is the most ambitious crossover!
As Always who called age of ultron the most ambitious crossover
Infinity War, not Age of Ultron. Wrong movie.
@@ChiefMedicPururu Infinity War was never a crossover when all the idiots in it always lived in the same goddamn universe. If it was about characters coming to meet from different separate universes, THEN it could be called a crossover.

@@pokejoseph I haven't gotten a chance to play it yet, but I believe it might count.
"The spaceship I'm looking for is orange."
The best part about this is that, because of the Silver Age, I have no way of knowing if this is just you being silly, or if it's referencing something.
*The following is the opinion of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!*
[EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] "When several of your colleagues are aliens and/or utilize alien technology, spaceships just aren't all that impressive (also given the tech that Batman has access to I wouldn't be surprised if Wayne Enterprises has developed their own spacecraft)!"
I waited for that review *checks calendar* 2 years men. TWO YEARS. Finally. Thank you Linkara :)
I've just realized something about the logo for the 2019 season of AT4W...it looks like it's going (or has gone) Super Saiyajin 2.
Half your face scarred from a Xenomorph attack that Batman couldn't save you from... that's an *awesome* backstory for Twoface!
I was so hoping the screams of the marine chasing the monkey would be a fake out scare with the monkey attacking him.

I really am glad to see you being positive about Alien:Resurrection. It's different from the rest, but it's B-Movie ambiance and the overall grotesque aesthetic of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who's one of my favourite directors of all time, really sell it to me ^^
"Why did Batman keep the reason for him coming down a secret for so long?"
Because for all he knew, these violent armed Americans in a foreign country had killed his quarry, were holding him prisoner, working for someone that wanting his quarry dead\harmed\inconvenienced by bulletholes, were secretly working for One Face, he had no REASON to tell them anything any earlier than he did... any of that help?
11:08-11:20 I think that H was a U, as in U.S., just wanted to let you know and to be fair it is a 90's comic, I would've made the mistake too.

On this day this will be the first episode i watched from you!
The comparison between the Alien and Bats’ parents deaths makes sense if you imagine a xenomorph in a trenchcoat shot his parents.
He kept his reason for coming vague because he cant just tell everyone he meets that he has access to the same info as Bruce Wayne. Even if there's an easy excuse that "he asked me to do it" its still not a connection he wants to be public.
The perfect life-form? Pah! They'd stand no chance against the ULTIMATE LIFE-FORM!
(Joe! Where's Shadow?! ... Union leave? Well how the hell are we going to get the Bio-Lizard here? He left for Hollywood to be a VA for the Jurassic Park franchise!)
There was a short piece in the darkhorse compilation series that preceded this. I have the comic somewhere and if I find it I will ship it to you, Linkara.
