Great show. Ive been married to my Series 2a going on 43 years, and wrve gotten along grand. My dentist, however, has strongly recommended that i swap out the stacks of old leaf springs for parabolics.

Great video! A Landy in its natural habitat-a farm! I have a 1966 Series 2a I’m restoring. They’re loads of fun to drive. Cheers from the U.S.

We should start a 1966 S2A club! Lol

The first thing I learned when I bought my 1969 2A Lightweight was the throttle peddle, or rather how to put you'r foot on the throttle when going over rough ground. You'r foot has a tendency to go up and down on the throttle peddle when going over bumps causing the Landy to jerk around as you increase and decrease throttle with that foot movement. I bought it before I passed my test 30+ years ago. I would drive it up and down the gully behind house and it wasn't long before I got the hang of it. Then it becomes second nature as soon as you hit the rough stuff.

Hi Ian, the '71 2a has an elaborate manual throttle that's great on rough trails, just set it, take your foot off, and enjoy. Quite easy to use.

How the hell do you get to 70mph?!?!
Mine barely squeaked out 60, and felt like it was approaching lift off! Lol

I have a 1966 S2A. You missed out on the whole double clutching from 1st to 2nd experience!
My first real driving experience in my Landy was the 80 mile drive home on a California freeway.😱
Mine has a Fiery overdrive so I managed 63 mph flat out. Lol
It is difficult to drive but totally worth it.

Wow, Lance, my 2a tops out at 50 and that's plenty for my old aluminum tin can, I'd be wackin' out at 63! I'm comfortable doing 125 in my miata, but Landys are another matter, lol ! Cheers 🍻

Yes, I admit that at that speed it sounds and feels like lift off velocity. It does have over Drive, but -----.🫣
I’m in Central California, where everything is an hour or more on the highway.😏
A TH-camr filmed it a couple months ago.
LandyAndy4X4. It is towards the end of his video “Castle Air Museam part 2”,
      if you are interested.

I learned to drive in one of these vehicles when I was in the army. Learning to double clutch was the only difficulty.

The old man's first mistake was to let him drive the Landy, his second was to tell him to pull off in 2nd, and his third was to encourage him to "give' er some stick". Oh and it appears that the owner thinks he has to first depress the yellow lever before pulling the red to go into Lo 4x4. I have to wonder which of the two actually has a driver's license, let alone mastering the LR intricacies.

That’s interesting. I’ve never driven something as old as the Landy you see in the video, so I can only go by what I’m told. Appreciate the nice comment though. Thanks for watching !

@@roadreg1820Yes I was prompted to watch the vid again just in case I was excessively harsh in my previous comment. I am now definite that the owner doesn't know how to use the transfer box correctly let alone guiding you. I really feel sorry that that vintage gem is in his hands (for 20 years he said?) and suffering.

Lovely, I passed my test in a mk1 this brought back some memories of how bouncy noisy and and difficult it was to change gear , it was my Grandfathers car, I was supposed to sit the test in my friends Mini but it broke down at the last minute I was sweating buckets before and during the test but I managed to pass 1st time, Nice car and you did very well driving it, never driven a LR since
