Nice video man! I just purchased a 2017 Charger RT and I am already planning on a ton of upgrades, such as the air intake and straight piping the exhaust.
I replaced the air filter boxes at my Dodge Charger R/T AWD yesterday. Same trouble getting the filter on to the plastic coupling here. I use silicon oil on both sides and the work was much easier.
The Mopar air intakes can cost over 400 dollars in some cases, save some money and buy a K&N typhoon, runs around 280 for most Mopar applications and they work great .
The typhoon is more of a RAM intake though. It has a heat shield but isn't sealed from the engine heat like the stock box is. Watch your intake temps increase at idle with that one. It kind of defeats the purpose of *Cold* Air Intake. The Mopar one does a better job at that since it seals when the hood is closed and draws in fresh air from the bottom of the car as well as the front due to the headlight tube. And instead of a heatshield, it's boxed off completely. Honestly, I'm more of a fan of the OEM Hellcat Airbox mod since it's a comepletely closed system. But between this one and the typhoon, I'd just save up and go for the Mopar one.
I was watching you video. I have a 21 R/T Dodge has made some changes to the stock intake on my 21 vs your. Mine has the 2nd opening from the factory . It sucks air from behind the headlight area. Also I noticed yours sucks air from below. The 21 is forcing the air from the lower grill into the bottom of the air filter housing. That’s for the video.
turo360 in all honesty a cold air intake won’t do my unless you get a tune. Even then the gains will be minimal. When you just plug and play, it does give you a bit of a jump in throttle response and changes the overall tone but other than that yeah you’d need a tune for a more noticeable difference
No, it is not necessary to disconnect the battery for the conversion of the air filter. No warning light in the dashboard lights up after the conversion. I replaced the air filter boxes at my Dodge Charger R/T AWD yesterday

Other then the cold air intake what are the best mods for a daily driver for the reliability aspect? I have an exhaust,intake and injectors.
