Fantastic! I've been designing brushless motors for a few decades and gotta say I think I learned a few things. Worth noting that most high-end motion control apps don't six-step or commutate with halls, but use halls to prevent wake-n-shake (and maybe bake) if the encoder doesn't have hall tracks. It's actually harder, IMO, to design a motor with more of a trapezoidal BEMF (less current ripple when commutating with halls), than sinusoidal BEMF. Thanks again!
Hi murali, wonderful video. Can you make comparison between other types namely BLDC vs Permanent magnet switched reluctance motor (PMSRM), BLDC vs AC Induction motor. Thank you!
Good effort Murali. Keep it up. @ 2.28: How is the current form trapezoidal when the current is DC, it is not supposed to be cyclical. You should clarify that by editing it and reposting it
nandkumark thank you so much for your positive feedback. This happens due to the two transistor switching at every instance. I will make a video specific to your question so that it might be clear to you. Will post here once done , appreciate if you can share to your contacts
In my view, the BLDC should run with ac drive for PMSM but will be with more operating noise and jerky operation. The reason would be, the Input AC current superimpose with trapezoidal back emf would result in a non-uniform torque which will result in noisy and jerky operation.
Chandrakant Dhanula you are welcome ! Hope you are learning ! Here is my latest video on autonomous vehicles , hope it will be interesting - th-cam.com/video/LVsSzVA8Ee0/w-d-xo.html
DJYanniik Hi, the reason for better performance for PMSM is that flux linkage is sinusoidal and corresponding current is also sinusoidal which make a better utilization of the input voltage compared to the trapezoidal waveform of BLdC
Szacun, duży szacun Panie Aleksieju. Dobrze to młody Człowiek wykonał. Szkoda, że nie porównał jeszcze mojego Bezszczotkowego, Szybkoobrotowego Motoru Hybrydowego nowej generacji. Ale pewnie ktoś to zrobi. Pozdrawiam 😀.
You have rightly said of course hall probe can be used. There is no need of brush in the method suggested. In my experience with EV two wheeler, hall probe is weakest link and is first to breakdown. Replacement of hall probe require total dismantling of drive and it is an job to be done by expert professional. That is why suggested scheme is put forward. It doesn't need brush. It is also in vogue in large LCM drives.
Friends, I am planning to make next video, let me know your interested topics related to motors and motor design our electrical engineering topics , I will make the videos periodically , thanks for watching my videos.
Tushar Dhumal sorry , I missed to reply you. Your question is if AC motor or DC motor good for solar water pump. Solar panels give DC power. If you use DC motor , it needs a lot of maintenance during its life time but if the DC converted to AC using a controller, then we can use Induction motor which don’t require frequent maintenance like DC motor. We cannot straight away say which is good because all have its own advantages and disadvantages. Hope I clarified
Shubhaang Vyas I see, do You mean squirrel cage is provided along with magnets on the rotor ? In this case the squirrel cage would be supporting to start the motor and magnets would continue to operate as PMSM. If you mean this, then I missed this point.
this video is half true! they say it is possible to drive bldc motors sinusoidal those with distributed windings! so what to believe then? a bldc motor with distributed windings driven by a sinusoidal signal let's say the one from the rc cars they are no doubt pmsm motors.
This video contains very good content, but please remove this hand. It's really annoying.
Krzysiek Nazwisko thanks a lot. Sure I will take this suggestion into account in future videos for sure ! Appreciate your interest in the content

Sensorless control adds to cost? How so? Doesn't it reduce the cost by removing the need for sensors to sense rotor position?
Yes, sensorless adds to cost because it needed complex control strategy which adds to the cost despite the reduction of sensors

Thanks a lot Rohan :-) . Will plan to make the videos on the topics. have a good day
مفید بود.
Good content GOD bless you.
Thank you so much!
It's clear! Anhui Mingteng brand PMSM reaches IE5 level, can be matched with many equipments in industry field.
Hi Murali is it possible to use digital phase switch single phase to 3 phase for BLDC motor 3 phase .38 HP 140 RPM.
BLDC motors can be driven in FOC for better efficiency/torque
yes . this case is controled by sin wave from dc power. this video not true
So bldc have more advantage?
what is the difference between switched reluctance motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor ?
Really really nice animation here, thank you a ton.
Thank you 😊
harmOnics. Could you make the video with comparison of PMSM and BLDC with FOC for both
Дмитрий Буньков thank you. Will plan it.

Hi, really amazing content!
Also actually I like the hand idea. Can you let me know how that was done? Is it open source?
Hi , thanks for the message :-) , it was done by Doodly software. Not an open source
Very good
Thank you so much :-)
Keep growing bro... Good job👍👍👍
Please ye IPM motor ke bare me bhi btao
hello sir? this video is very useful, but I have one question what magnetic saturation in a PMSM motor?
Sorry for late response. Can I know your query in more details ? so that I can answer you
excellent presentation, love the the hand writing.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for good video,
Glad you liked it :-)
What I wanted to know is if a BLDC motor can be driven like a PMSM motor?
Good video, please make a video for frquency analysis of BLDC motor
Thank you so much 😊, will plan for this video
@@muralitoday Please make a video for SPWM and SVPWM control of BLDC drive
God that hand. But the info is very much appreciated!
so in your thoughts which motor is better??
We cannot say which motor is better. Every motor has it's own strengths based on the application been used
Hai Sir i need Flux reversal machine complete principle. please explain
Hello Bharathi, thank you. Will work on it and share it with you.
please check the new video on Flux reversal motor - th-cam.com/video/VAdhW0iBYmI/w-d-xo.html
Useful 🙂
tres élegante leçon !! merci ....
Can you type in English please ?
Which software you used to make this video?
I used Doodly
Very interesting.

I want no noise of motor which motor i use pls tell i want to manufacture golf carts .
Where are your from ?
Video is speed high sir
But super
Thank you so much !
Why cant Hall probe be used for PMSM also, it is cheaper and less maintenance prone as compared to brush for this purpose

Aren't BLDC motors actually powered by 3 phase AC in the case of drones?
I think technically no , it is only powered by the converted power from DC to AC.
Это было здорово. Ещё бы показали включения ключей

does bldc and pmsm motor have the same construction?
