  • I took an overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai and transferred to a bus to Sa Pa (Sapa).
    The town of Sapa lies at an elevation of about 1500 meters and is an essential city in Lao Cai province that is famous among local and foreign tourists. The weather was mostly rainy, cold, and foggy during my stay between 14th to 17th May 2022.
    My first time sleeping in a hostel in my life is impressive. Sapa Capsule Hostel is recommended for everyone. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
    I've tried a day trekking tour to nearby villages. It is also a must-do activity for every tourist coming to Sapa.
    The final destination, Cat Cat Village, is wonderful. It is near the city and a must-visit place for a short hiking experience, learning about the way of life, customs, and traditions of the local people in the mountainous area.

    so nice to see you visit your neighbouring countries! Is Lao Cai as cold as northern Shan states?

      BTW, I have only been to southern Shan state.

      Hi, I got the guide from Airbnb (recommended).
      Or you can hire a random guide at the city center also. You will find them at the bus terminal as soon as you arrive in Sapa. Or your hotel reception may help you with this.

      The hostel owner helps me with the bus ticket. And he also sends me to the bus station with his bike for free. Sapa Capsule Hotel is recommended for solo travelers.

    Thank you for this informative video and after perusing the comments I saw someone ask where u purchased ur train ticket. Do you know why most people prefer train vs overnight bus? Is it safety, etc?

    • @Chans_Itinerary
      @Chans_Itinerary  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think safety is one of the reasons, but for me, it is more easier to sleep on a train than on a bus.

    Did you visit the Sapa center at night? You should only visit Sapa during the Summer season. Otherwise, you will get stuck in the rain.

      Hi Queenie J, the bed is clean and comfortable to sleep. However, the toilet is a little bit below expectation, but it is acceptable. I would say overall it is clean.

    Hi chan, do you know if we first get to Vietnam, how do we get Wi-Fi ? I’m from the USA and going to Vietnam soon, but I just wanna know how do we get Wi-Fi in Vietnam?

    • @Chans_Itinerary
      @Chans_Itinerary  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Maiv, I don't know about Wi-Fi in public areas. But most hotels and airports have it for free. However, I recommend you buy a local sim card with an internet package that suits your period of stay at your arrival airport quickly, which is easy and cheap.

      @@maivpajkublauj16 You can buy it at the airport arrival hall in Vietnam as soon as you pass Immigration. You don't need to buy from the USA.

    Chan, How and where to rent a motel bike in Sapa?

    • @Chans_Itinerary
      @Chans_Itinerary  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many motorbikes in the town, easy to rent, your hotel reception may help you with this. You can rent a bike and drive alone if you don't mind the mountainous roads. But I don't drive so I rent a motorbike taxi (with driver). FYI, you need to agree on the price, the waiting time, and the destinations you want to visit before you go. If not, the driver will try to charge you more at the end.
