    Nice and very informative on autodrip. Can you share also what airpump do you use to “move” your K1 micro? Thanks.

      Hi Thank you very much. I'm using hailea CPA 100(its also acdc backup) for my k1 abit overkill but I'm sharing it with my other 2 tank and the air in 400 gallon.

    How to you get rid of the fish wastes?

    • @TheSimpleAquarist
      @TheSimpleAquarist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much.
      As for fish waste will be pushed by high water flow from main tank into my mechanical filter(check out my 400 gallon tank tour vid) in my sump. If you dont have enough flow in your main tank you can add a wavemaker.

      if my set up is using an overhead filtration system how can i do the setup?

    • @TheSimpleAquarist
      @TheSimpleAquarist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@patrickleeproperty Yes its possible but then you have to drill your main tank for an output pipe.

    Your sump glass thickness..? 6mm? I plan to make a hole for my sump.. but scared the glass may crack if i make 25mm/1inch hole. I have sump 6mm thickness. Thanks.

    • @TheSimpleAquarist
      @TheSimpleAquarist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is 6ft feet long and 18 inch high , i used 8mm glass. Yes 25mm no problem. If drill properly it wont crack the glass unless its tampered glass.

    An interesting method, but I see a possible problem. What happens if, for example, the electricity in the installation goes out, all or part of the water that flows from the acuario by inertia to the sump will go down the drain, no?

    • @TheSimpleAquarist
      @TheSimpleAquarist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really - as a regular sump system there is a fail safe where only 1-2 inches of tank water will drain during power outage.

      I added activated carbon before i drip the water into my tank.

    • @stoneyislandranch9783
      @stoneyislandranch9783 ปีที่แล้ว

      The unfortunate is you will need water barrels for that. My home has our own well.. so I use the water direct .. the only side note is allow the water to move slow enough to give water the time to get up to room temp.. which is easy to do..

    How do you calculate the active carbon expired date

    • @TheSimpleAquarist
      @TheSimpleAquarist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no exact way to calculate how much you need to use... but I use the rule of thumb 100grams for 50 gallons of tank water - used for a maximum of 1-2 weeks.
