So cute!! I loved both the cages!!! I can see why it would be hard to choose. The floor cage had a minimalist clean look but the L shape seemed way more functional and I feel that guinea pigs should always be up on a table of some sort. But who are we kidding,we will constantly be upgrading and rearranging. It's a hobby so it will never be done!! Enjoy all the different setups you go through. You obviously know what youre doing!! Happy piggies!!!
I'm so excited that you featured my cage. I wanted to add that I did change up the cage by taking the loft off and expanding to a 6×2. I also changed the litter box and now it's wooden box with tons of hay. My original submission was shortly after I got them so I was changing things as I found what worked and what didn't. My boys Lucius and Luca are loving their new space.

I'm 27 and I had guinea pigs when I was about 16, I learned a lot since then, went to college for Animal Care and worked with animals my whole life. I realized I hadn't housed them in a large enough enclosure (their cage was similar to the left cage on 10:54 ) , my mom said it was suitable at the time but I've learned a lot watching channels like yours alongside my past experience. I plan on getting guinea pigs again (they've been my favourite pet I've owned) once I have a home suitable for their enclosure size. I've been dying to make a nice, big area for them to run around in and live happy healthy lives, but until I have a place suitable for them, I'll live through all these amazing people first 😂 I can't get enough guinea pig content until then

Hi Autumn! Love your videos! I hear that you recommend more toys in almost every cage. I come from learning about guinea pigs from people who say guinea pigs don't use toys. I have heard a lot of people say this. I would be so curious to see footage of yours playing with toys and showing what toys are good and some diy toys and a toy haul would be super cool!! Currently my four girls do not have any toys. I have put balls in there before but they just pooped on them. I feel a bit lost on what to get them! Thank you!!! I hope you can help!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi!! I always recommend more toys just to give the pigs options, but you’re right it’s hard to find toys pigs will use. I even struggle with it with my pigs. I’ll try to find enough stuff they enjoy to make a video on it - but so far the most popular with mine are the Niteangel forage balls full of their pellets or fav treats, and then toilet paper rolls stuffed with hay. And toys made out of hay! Small pet select has some hay balls and hay rings made of rye and stuff like that that my trio of girls goes nuts for!!

I can never get disappointed my cages aren’t shown because by the time you make one of these videos my cage has changed or I’ve got millions more cages😂 I’m gonna send in my new cages now! Btw sad I’m so late but ive been taking care of the new skinny pig baby I got! He’s super afraid and yesterday was a lot on him. Hopefully he has the confidence to leave his litter box soon!

i only have a 3x2 C&C cage for my 2 girlies but i don't have loads of space. they have a hammock and a stick tunnel, one water bottle (though i am putting in a second), two feed bowls, large quantities of hay freshened up at night and in the morning plus some toys. I use fleece bedding and a waterproof liner. Obviously if i can i will upgrade their space but let me know if i NEED to, planning on getting a second layer! PS: they get regular lap and floor time.

I live in Portugal and I can’t find any big cages for my two guinea pigs, I have two males but they don’t get along so I keep them separated and give them lots of attention. The biggest cage I found here was one metre by fifty centimeters so I bought two. I tried buying c&c cages but I live in an island near Portugal so the Amazon shipping taxes are very expensive. My guinea pigs are happy but I feel bad for the lack of pet shops in Portugal that could sell and ship enclosures.
I'm so sorry! I've seen people use wire shelving to make the sides of a cage instead of grids...could that be an option for you? Then perhaps a plastic shower or pond liner to protect your floors. Not sure what you have access to, but just some ideas! Sounds like you're doing the best you can for your pigs.
How many square feet is a 2×4 enclosure with a 2×2 loft? I rescued 2 male guinea pigs a few months ago, and im not familiar with measuring thier new cage i got them.
If each square is 12” then the base is 8 square feet and the loft is 4 square feet. If each square is 14” then the base is about 11 square feet and the loft is 5.5 square feet.
You can search on google “Square footage calculator” and click the first link. After filling out the measurements of the length and width it’ll measure it for you. (make sure to measure the cage and loft separately)
Hi I just found your channel and you look like a great guinea pig owner could you give me a tip my guinea pig or name is hazel and she never lets me pat or pick her up I got her late March this year but she’s fine when i hand feed her but she won’t let me pat her but I’m going to give her a bit more time soon I think I will be building a guinea pig playground with a ramp and hiding places and tunnels and stuff so I hope that helps a little bit but yea please reply if you have any tips
some guinea pigs just dont like to be picked up, so im gessing yours doesnt. also i would recommend getting her a friend of the same gender, it makes them feel safer and maybe that could help with picking her up!
hi! make sure if your pigs are living together they are the same gender. to help them warm up to you, continue to hand feed and spend time talking to them. they may never enjoy being picked up, none of mine do, and they may be something you just have to accept. but you can try to work on warming them up to being pet by doing it often multiple times a day. you can also create a large playpen and sit in it with them and let them approach you
@@Its_Maddi I’m assuming corflute is the same thing as corrugated plastic. And I think the question is what will the cage be on - the floor or a table? If it’s on a table you need to know if the table can hold your weight the corflute needs to be supported and can’t just be suspended in the air
hi, i’m on my mom’s account and i own a guinea pig named peanut and i have no idea what fleece or cage to get. and i just want to know which one anyone would prefer because guineadad is really expensive so is kavee but i’ve heard good things but bad things so can anyone tell me what i should get? and for the cage i have a pet store cage because that’s what i thought i was supposed to get but i guess not, so can you tell me what you would prefer for fleeces and cages that work good and are a normal price please? any other advice would be nice too. i just started watching stuff like this and it helps a lot so thank you and i like your videos & guinea pigs. :)
hi! I would make your own DIY c&c cage, I have a video on building a cage. You can use c&c amazon basics grids and coroplast from home depot. For fleece I buy washable puppy pads from amazon and buy fleece and wick it and just it on top. It's much cheaper than guineadad or kavee. I also second getting peanut a same-sex friend, they can get very lonely. good luck and feel free to dm me on insta at autumnspiggies if you have more questions xx
Hii, just show them all your information and let them know that you are responsible enough to own guinea pigs! Help around the house a lot more or try do good in school so they may consider getting you guinea pigs as a gift for showing how responsible you can be! Let them know the positives and negatives of owning guinea pigs so they will be prepared and not be shocked about how hard they can be at times. Be patient and eventually they'll say yes but if they happen to say no, that's okay, try at another time and hopefully they'll say yes! :)
I second Jennifer, Guinea pigs can be expensive and vet care especially. If your pig needs vet care are your parents willing to take you and the pig / pay for it? If not it may not be the right pet for you. If you do, Make sure you get two guinea pigs as well. I would prepare a PowerPoint or presentation showing all your research and how you plan to care for the guinea pigs, good luck XX
I’m also 12 and as someone who had to buy all of their things with my own money I recommend you get them when you are older. They are super expensive and fortunately my mom is willing to pay for things like vets as long as I pay her back no matter how long it takes. Not every parent is like that and if yours aren’t then you shouldn’t get them until you have a job or a way to make money.

A guinea pig might not be a good pet for you unless your parents will be willing to buy everything guinea pigs need. They arnt a cheap pet to have
