Binder clips would work too just for future reference!!! And then you could just put the one grid against the wall of the playpen to have more space ☺️

I recently bonded my pig of 3 years alone and this is the exact same process I went through! I had tried to bond her (Peach) in the past but with her superdominant personality the three bondings I tried failed. I felt so bad she was alone and decided to try again about two weeks ago and it was successful! The little female I got acted just like Sage, no problem with being submissive but then Peach felt the need to assert dominance for daysss. I was also worried Peach was bullying her out of food and water but a Vet once told that animals are not dumb they won't let themselves starve so I let it play out and now they share everything and new piggy (Pepper) is becoming more comfortable. Love the food theme names by the way, I did the same think haha
yeah that sounds super similar! I was also worried sage got bullied away from food but things seem to be improving, there's still a lot of humping even a week later but sage is coming out more. glad it worked out for you :)
of course! Four of my pigs are from rehoming situations / rescues and only two are from a pet store before I knew rescues existed. I plan to rescue if I get any more pigs
I love the new pigs together. Since you have a new guinea pig and their paired can you do a new daily routine so we can see what u do dally for the pigs!!❤️✨

It makes me so happy to see Honey bonded with a pig. Sage is absolutely lovely and she goes well with Honey's personality. Research more into neutering Waffles because it's always easier to bond male and female pairs than two males. It should never cost more than $100 I feel like so that vet was definitely trying to rip you off. Sending love to you and your piggies!
I’ve talked to some other people and most do spend over $100, so I don’t think they were trying to rip me off. It’s just a highly experienced vet office in high demand so their prices are higher. I decided not to neuter him to avoid the stress it could place on him and I found him a male buddy. Thank u!!!

thank you!! and the coroplast was around $20 and the grids $35 although I didn't use all of them. so around 50-60 dollars, but I had leftover grids. The grids are linked in the description and the coroplast is from home depot. zipties, box cutter, and duct tape you can get either on amazon or home depot! hope this helps thank u for watching xx

Have you considered getting nationwide pet insurance for your Guinea pigs? When I did it recently it helps cover spay and neuter, their medications, their visits, x-rays, etc. By "covers" I mean they reimburse you 70%. Great idea if you can! Lmk if you do so I can give you my real name ;)
@@autumngrace. I pay $45 a month for my 2 ladies. I picked their fancier plan which covers more. For larger herds like yours you'll receive a discount of 10% I believe. If you take your pets to the vet normally, then this is well worth it in my opinion. When I was nervous about one having a bladder stone it was $50 for the visit, $250 for a single xray, $45 for meds. I didn't have insurance at the time. It would have been nice to have a 70% reimbursement for that trip, I would have paid $345 up front but Nationwide would reimburse $241. Really what made me want to tell you is that Waffles could be operated and join a herd (instead of having to match him up with another male)! Or you could do this for your older piggies. Best of luck xo

Are you using the same size puppy pads under the fleece for this cage as you do for the trio? I’m trying to find some that are the proper size for my cages so I can try out your fleece method but they all seem to be about 24 inches wide
I am I just had to turn them long-ways to make them wide enough and fold them under cause they were too long. So I have to use around 3 puppy pads turned sideways to fit the cage

hi! a lot of it is the pigs personality, two of my pigs came to me already very socialized. it's important to talk to them and get them used to your voice, and hand feed them their favorite foods. some of my pigs still don't enjoy being pet, but that's ok with me I'm content to just watch them
2 you tube channels have videos on taming guinea pigs.. they are Squeak Dreams and Little Adventures. The basics are: first sit next to your guinea pigs cage and talk to them… tell them about your day… if you feel too weird read them a story… the more you talk the more they will get used to you.. do that for several days, then set up a feeding schedule so that every day you feed them pellets at the same time and veggies at another time, etc. they will start anticipating your arrival and start wheeking.. put veggies just outside where they are hiding… sit and talk and see if they will come out and grab the veggies.. then you can start letting them take longer veggies out of your fingers…etc…. Go slow… don’t expect major progress… watch some taming videos.. all guinea pigs have different personalities.. some will always be shy…others will become very tame.. You have to put in a lot of time to get them to trust you… do floor time, lap time with veggies, practice picking them up…etc. if your piggies are very young it’s not surprising that they run from you… you are the first human in their lives…be patient and consistent…

Hi I have another question I know you have to wick fleece when you get it but do you have to wick fleece over and over like every time you change the fleece or only once??
No usually after you wick it the first time as long as you continue to wash it with hot water it is unlikely to unwick. I usually check mine though before I use it in the cage again just by putting a little water on it and making sure it absorbs
I have 2 males, 1 is older and is kinda the boss, and the other just follows, so do you think that if I get another male that is shy and smaller the bonding will have higher chances to work?
I'd like to express an opinion. I really think you should neuter your male, that way he can be with the trio or the duo. It's expensive, yes, but you're only have to pay once, if you get more piggies you'll need more space, more money for food and more importantly, if they get sick, medical costs are very high. I hope you reconsider, I've found that's the best way to keep guinea pigs. Sage is adorable ❤️
Hi! I thought long and hard about the decision about neutering waffles. In the end I decided that there are so many pigs who need homes and I’d rather spend the money I would use to neuter him on caring for another pig. I have enough space and I have a large savings in case they need medical attention. Thank you for watching
yes, it also includes an x-ray they wanted to do because of his poor diet at his past home. but still too pricey in my opinion, I would rather spend that money on caring for more pigs that need homes

Hi I have another question I know you have to wick fleece when you get it but do you have to wick fleece over and over like every time you change the fleece or only once??
No usually after you wick it the first time as long as you continue to wash it with hot water it is unlikely to unwick. I usually check mine though before I use it in the cage again just by putting a little water on it and making sure it absorbs

I have 2 males, 1 is older and is kinda the boss, and the other just follows, so do you think that if I get another male that is shy and smaller the bonding will have higher chances to work?
It would def have higher chances if you get another young submissive male, id watch Scottys animals for male bonding tips :)

I'd like to express an opinion. I really think you should neuter your male, that way he can be with the trio or the duo. It's expensive, yes, but you're only have to pay once, if you get more piggies you'll need more space, more money for food and more importantly, if they get sick, medical costs are very high. I hope you reconsider, I've found that's the best way to keep guinea pigs. Sage is adorable ❤️
Hi! I thought long and hard about the decision about neutering waffles. In the end I decided that there are so many pigs who need homes and I’d rather spend the money I would use to neuter him on caring for another pig. I have enough space and I have a large savings in case they need medical attention. Thank you for watching

yes, it also includes an x-ray they wanted to do because of his poor diet at his past home. but still too pricey in my opinion, I would rather spend that money on caring for more pigs that need homes

That is awesome! Good luck! Usually the mommies know what to do so just keep an eye on them! Make sure to give them some fruit after birth to keep their sugar levels from dropping :) congrats again!!
