    Yesterday I returned my 2021 XT5 Sport and leased a 2024 XT5 Premium Luxury, after reading stuff like the XT5 is being discontinued online, at night time I saw a few clips 2025 XT5 and was totally bummed about not knowing about it and waiting for it. I just found your TH-cam channel and listened to your podcast about it, what a relief! Glad I found your very informative channel. I hope they bring it to the USA in 36 months 🙂
    Blessings!

    Especially if Trump is elected, GM's strategy to favor the Lyric over the next-gen XT-5 will not work well from a sales standpoint. GM is taking one hell of a risk here, given the XT-5 was their best selling Cadillac vehicle.

      @@rlsedition Yea, 2018-2019 showed some incredible sales, but after 2020, the Escalade has outsold it. The refresh does not appear to be helping XT4 sales, and I think we would see a similar trend with the refreshed XT5 if it were brought here,

    I agree with you regarding the Model Y aesthetics, particularly the minimalistic interior. The key competitive feature the Y has over the Lyriq is the Supercharger network.

      @@G-Rated While true, a glance at YT videos on EV charging depict notably different experiences between the Superchargers and non-Superchargers. Though I'm planning to stick with my CT6 which adds range faster then either network :)

    I’d love to have this vehicle just as it appears here. I have a ‘21 model and was looking forward to a refresh. I don’t know what goes on in a General Motors board meeting but they don’t think like I do. Not sure if I’ll stay with GM or not. Also, not sure if I want an all electric vehicle either. Lyriq is very expensive to get one with the same options I currently have.

    This xt5 is actually designed by the SAIC-GM joint venture company called PATAC and you won’t believe new Chevrolet equinox is also designed there,and in China they have phev edition,GM used to sell huge amount of vehicles in China but now struggling to stay in the game 😢GM made a lot money in China but things changed so fast that all of a sudden it has very difficult situations

      And we should feel sorry for them? They went well over their heads going all in on the Chinese market and neglecting the US market. Now the Chinese market is ditching them in favor of homegrown brands and it will only get worse as geopolitics get worse and the local consumers picks their own products. And then what? Another bailout? No thank you. They can go ask Xi for a bailout if he is interested. They better start shaping up and start embracing the US market or else its going to end very badly for GM.

    The Lyric is certainly not an ugly vehicle, but neither is it beautiful. It doesn't seem to know whether it's a sedan or wagon. And I've seen the new Celestique in person and it's no drama queen either design-wise despite its stratospheric price tag.

    I live in China and just bought the GT4, which is a coupe, a model only for China. Because of the EV boom, foreign car makers have to lower their prices big time! The GT4 cost me only $26K brand spanking new! 😎

      GM repeatedly makes the mistake of banking on peoples loyalty to their brand when in reality people have more loyalty to the category of vehicle. I love my XT5 but I am not ready to make such a significant investment into what I see currently as a downgrade. So if GM doesn’t have a comparable ICE mid sized luxury CUV, then I will look elsewhere.

    Track has NOTHING to do with wheelbase.

    • @Motrolix
      @Motrolix  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes and no. If you exist in a perfect world and are working from a clean sheet design for every vehicle, then yes. In the case of the C1 models, the way in which they’re extending the track brings some constraints based on the architecture’s hard points. So growing the track results in a slight change to the mounting point of the axles, thereby increasing the wheelbase by only 6 mm.

    • @rlsedition
      @rlsedition 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Motrolix "Track" is always about vehicle width, center of tire to center of tire. "Wheelbase" is always about vehicle length, center of front wheels to center of rear wheels.

    • @Motrolix
      @Motrolix  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're stating the obvious definitions of the measurements, while we are discussing the REASON that wheelbase grew 6 mm. See prior comment for that. - Alex

    • @Motrolix
      @Motrolix  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, if you want to get technical, then your definition of "track" is incorrect. Track is NOT about VEHICLE width, but rather about the width of the outermost point of the rolling stock to outermost point of rolling stock. That could be less or more than overall vehicle width, which now involves body/sheet metal.

    I have a 2020 XT5 and enjoy it. It is a nice car but I would not buy another one which is out dated. I normally trade every 5 model years but if I do, it will probably not be a Cadillac. GM got it wrong with going full steam into EVs. If the new Trump administration cuts the $7500 tax credit and States continue to increase additional taxes on EVs, thing could get ugly esp for GM

    Get rid of the XT6 and then introduce the Chinese XT5 redesign to other markets. If you’re in the market for a 3 row Cadillac, let’s be honest, no one’s going to go looking for a XT6, they’ll all think of an Escalade. Not only will this provide Vistiq a chance to catch on but also provide GM with the physical space to manufacture the newly refreshed XT5. XT5 still looks like a grandpa car among its other SUVs… shit looks so dated and tired.
