Some of us A dont like green or B have an aversion to riding / driving green vehicles (eg, every accident my family has EVER been involved in was in a green car. We dont do green cars since 1970). I tried to buy the grey with marroon highlights. Nil stock. So two days ago i had to buy a black Z900 with the green frame...😑
It's a math calculation, your first gear unless you dropped a new sprocket set is good for 63 in 1st at redline. You seem to be shortshifting by over 1000 rpm in the first 2 gears. mph = (.006 x rpm x tire radius ) / gear ratio There are variations on this with tire diameter instead of radius, and have the constant of .006 being in the denominator, but that's just math substitution and properties of division. When I was a teen into my 20's, I spent a lot of time on gear ratios for 1/4 mile cars. Remember on bikes you have primary and secondary and final drive ratios.
John Walsh their fuel is shit over there. 91 is 'high octane' pffffffff... Here in Australia the Z900 has a sticker with 'minimum 95 octane' Our bikes are definitely faster than the yanks get
@@sugarnads nlu3flare is right. You cant directly compare the octane ratings because they are measured differently. Also 91 is considered mid-range where I live in the United States.
@Baudshah Suleymon rake isn't that sharp on Z900 hence damper isn't necessary. Duke790 on the other hand, has the sharpest Front rake on a naked. Hence damper is factory fitted on that one.
Touch of rear brake on 1st and 2nd and be fine ....you had a bit more on the red line to get into ... which would of pushed you onto the 100 before the gear change , I’ve had a zx6r z1000 now z900 only issue is it’s too short geared drives me mad at times haha but overall a nice bike :) I’ve got the akro exhaust ... best one to get would be the SP exhaust (baffle can be in or out :)) !
Yeah man, the gearing definitely makes me want to rev higher, it's obnoxious. And how is the akro? Did you get a homologated muffler or the regular? I've been looking into getting one next week but I can't decide.
Hey man how are you liking the Akra? I got my Z9 about 5 months ago and bought a Yoshi slip on. Not much of a difference at all. I’m wanting to do a full exhaust but I’m torn between the Akra and SC Project.
Adding any full exhaust will give you the sound you're looking for. The catalytic converter kills a huge chunk of the sound. My Akra sounds good and is noticeably louder than stock, but I was still underwhelmed with it just being a slip on. I'll be getting the full pipes to add to the muffler in a few months and then it'll be stupid loud 🤘
Yeah I'm familiar. SCP sound is honestly better than sex if you get the full system. There aren't any good videos out of full exhaust Akra's with the same muffler I have, so here's hoping it turns out when I get it.
You dont need a steering dampener, you need to not street race. It sure look like USA plates on the cars passing on the road, and you mention State Troopers....sure you're not in the United States..
Huh that odd. I have a 2017 Z900, and my 1st gear stops at 60ish mph. Not sure why your z900 doesnt. Also my 3rd stops at 100ish (think ive peaked 102mph in 3rd). Pretty sure they are the exactly the same despite the year difference.
And i checked the gearing commander website (never heard of it before). And the max rpms shown are false, as the bike revs to 10.5k, not 9.5k. Also the top speed shown is also wrong, at least compared to many z900 top speed videos on youtube. Many of these videos show 150ish, while gearing commander claims 141. Also the site says these are theoretical top speeds, which doesnt mean much compared to actual video proof.
I don't have one, was thinking about buying one. I got to test drive one today actually and GC is definitely off, the gears are much taller and will go a higher mph than stated there. Thanks for the response

dont wanna ruin the comments here but your start was really bad. Try to get your bike to 4500 at least before u start, in your video you just went almost from 0 . *2*
Alexei Kurakin No lie, I was a bit nervous about the idea of backflipping. But like I mentioned later in the video, I'll practice more with this bike, and make an actual video showing my times in the future. :)
4500 in a z900 would almost guarantee a backflip unless you roast to clutch to keep the front down. This is a different animal compared to the super high revving "super" bikes out there. I have one. You don't even need to give it gas to roll out. Just easy off the clutch and go. The bottom end power on these bikes are great and they pull hard all the away to the 11,000rpm redline
I have my Z900 since a year, so i can say from experience. 4500 is just fine. start with your legs spread and get the hand of it. All in case you want to 0-100 or something, no reason to burn each time you start to move ofc
@@Qelacien if you are launching at 4500rpm, you definitely are having to ride the clutch alot. You aren't just dumping the clutch at 4500rpm. Everyone rides different but a 4500rpm launch will roast the clutch if you're trying to keep the front tire down. Either way, ride safe. If you ease out the clutch at 4500rpm, be very careful because if you let the clutch out too fast it will stand up on you. Like I said, we all ride different.
